S70 satellite - DVD drive stopped recognizing discs
Hello
hoping someone can help me. My S70 suddenly stopped recognizing discs in the DVD player. The drive will appear in my computer, device manager says it's working properly, but neither software nor my computer to recognize the drive.
Have tried to uninstall the DVD drive and reboot twice, without result.
Hello
Have you tested with different original discs as DVD movie and CD of music?
Try to clean the lens.
If you have a boot disc please test too.

CD/DVD drive not recognizing discs
Hi there, I have a problem with my CD/DVD ROM its doesn't work simply do not, my E drive which is connected to a port works fine, and because my CD/DVD-ROM does not work I cant do things get, there is an engineer said it was faulty, think its something to do with my upper register / lower filters etc.
The CD/DVD drive appears in the Manager of devices without error?
In addition, you can check the following registry key? :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
To the registry for this key, in the right window, in the world is here, under 'Name', a LowerFilters and UpperFilters value?
If so, for UpperFilters and LowerFilters, value which is listed under "data"?

Satellite T110 - powered by USB CD/DVD drive not recognized in BIOS
I have the T110, I can create recovery disks in Windows but when I restart the computer and press F12 it shows no CD/DVD drive in the BIOS.
So I can't restore to start or boot from external CD/DVD drive.
Help!
Hey,.
I n t have the laptop in front of me but check the BIOS if you can find an option called USB legacy support. If Yes, you need to activate this feature that your laptop can recognize the external hard drive.
You can boot from a USB? I mean that you can also create files recovery on a USB key, so it would also be an option to restore factory settings.

* This device is disabled. (Code 22) *.
_Recommended resolution_
+ Activate the device using Device Manager. +
+ In Device Manager, click Action, and then select device. Starts the Enable Device Wizard. Follow the instructions. +Looks like you have already tired it. Well, in your case I would recommend removal of the CD/DVD drive from the list of devices in Device Manager. Mark simply the unit a press to remove.
Then, restart the computer and check what is happening.

Pavilion Slimline s5-1020: DVD drive not recognized in Device Manager
My rarely used DVD player no longer works. Here are the things I have seen/made:
-J' updated to Windows 10. It may or may not have stopped working before the update.
-I update Windows automatically, and everything seems to be in order there.
-The DVD seems to be operational, insofar as you can hear it turn when a disc is inserted.
-Setup recognizes, and it is enabled; It is not at all in Device Manager or in the file Explorer.
Based on the things I've tried, there are indications that it may be either a hardware or a software problem (or both?):
SOFTWARE PROBLEM?
I followed these as much as possible:
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03370738#c03370738_NoDriveWin8
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03370738#c01895589_resetpower
http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-CD-DVD-read-only/read-this-for-CD-DVD-drive-with-burning-Missin...
-I got disconnected/reconnected the drive.
-J' tried various DVD I knew to do.
-I don't have to update the BIOS, given warnings.
- Nor did I mess with registry filters.
-J' tried to find a Microsoft Fixit solution, but the one referenced somewhere in these pages don't apply to this OS - I think it was for Win 7. I tried MS Control Panel convenience stores, but none of them worked.
So I can't say whether or not it is a software problem.
HARDWARE PROBLEM?
-J' have set the boot on the CD order in configuration and the desktop with Windows 7 HP Pavilion system repair disc - nothing happened, he went straight to the HD (even if I had turned off). So that leads me to believe it may be a hardware problem after all.
Do I have other options at this point, except maybe buy another drive? And in fact if I do, it is possible that one does not work either? While you are not alone in this problem, here's a thread that deals with her.
See if that helps

I have Dell inspiron 6000 with windows XP home. My Cd/DVD drive was working fine. Able to play any disc. Now, recently, he stopped recognizising all disks. I tried to get back the driver, updating the driver, uninstalling the driver and reload the driver, without success. I remember, previously, that I had similar problem a few years back when I downloaded the SP3 and microsft corrected using my computer remotely. I don't know what they were doing. But again today same problem. Microsoft will not help as they say now want to pay now. Could you help to get my cd/dvd drive works again. Thank you

CD/DVD drive not recognized by Windows Vista
I installed a suite of burningb of CD and DVD on my Toshiba (under Vista Home Premium). My CD/DVD drive appeared more in the computer and was no longer functional. I deleted the program I installed and apparently caused the problem, but it did not help. I have read through the help of Microsoft (929461, 314060) documents and used the Fix - It utility. Also unsuccessful. I discovered the response of Martin, the technical support engineer made on May 5, 2009. I followed his instructions with great success. However, my question now is this: I have still some remains of the problem left over. I get an error message at startup saying, 'InstaBurn UDF driver is not installed correctly. Run the InstaBurn installation program. ' InstaBurn is part of the suite of the copy (hotpics by Nova Development Corp.). I also have an error message of my reader DVD Toshiba saying that the DVD player does not work - although it is. I played a DVD as a test on it after that I followed the instructions above. How can I remove these error messages annoying that aren't accurate? Would appreciate any information about this minor - but annoying problem.
