Safari browser does not open

Help! Safari browser does not open on my iMac and iPad.

Try the settings/Safari/clear history and also try a reset.

Reset device

Maybe a .plist corrupt on the computer.

Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

    The best thing to do when such strangeness slips into your phone is a battery pull.  Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it a few seconds later.

    If your problem persists after trying that, let us know and we will try something else.

    I got my flashlight for about a week and it is very buggy. First of all it sometimes hangs when I try to open the browser. Other programs work perfectly once I hit escape a few times, but the browser does not work again until I upgrade or downgrade the OS. I keep having to go down and upgrade that takes forever to get my browser to work. Also the phone goes into sleep mode, even though I have it set to 20 seconds for backlight turns off.  Third problem I have with the phone is they continue to tell the browser how advanced is that it will not always support the Flash even if Blackberry has partnered with Adobe. I regret buying a torch instead of a droid.

    Start by doing a battery pull - with the machine on, remove the battery and wait 15 to 30 seconds before reinserting.  Then just wait for the device to reboot.  This should solve at least some of the problems you encounter.

    As for Flash, it is supposed to happen, however it is simply not yet available.  I hope that Adobe will have this ready to go shortly.  As for Flash on the Droid, as a heads up, I heard not so positive things here.  Apparently, there are a lot of bugs, and it is far from an ideal configuration.  I hope that Adobe will fix Flash for Android and I hope we'll get a decent work for the BB version before long.

    the internet via Wi - Fi.  With the exception of the internet, all other functions of the computer are working very well.

    Open a command prompt and type "ipconfig/release" (without the quotes)

    Then type ipconfig/renew

    Try also ipconfig/flushdns and ipconfig/registerdns

    Are you using IE? Set the default values in Internet Options, Advanced tab (see below).

    Stop router and cable/DSL modem. Disconnect both the power supply for a few minutes. Reconnect devices to current alternative and energize.

    A likely cause is a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.

    You can use one of them to make the Creation/use of a new default profile for Firefox:

    • Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
    • Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
    • Use "Choose a folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile

    I couldn't see the wording of the filename exactly as you pointed out, but I ended up doing a file search "*.ini" on my hard drive, which resulted in 359 files found. then I scanned down the column name and entered a "configuration settings" file simply named "profiles" in the folder: C:\Documents and Data Data\Mozilla\Firefox

    I deleted it and opened my Firefox browser! I lost all my favorites, history, etc., but this isn't the end of the world.

    You can remove the user.js, as it shouldn't be there unless you have created the file yourself.

    If you set the pref in this file then you'll lose open tabs if you need to restart Firefox after installing a new extension, as this is the main reason for the use of this preference.
    So remove the user.js file or at least this line if you want to continue to be reset possible other present prefs in the file each time you start Firefox.

    This file is read every time you start Firefox, so changes made to the Pref set via this file only last for the current session.

    They could not really help with my request, and when I got the phone to them I restarted Firefox.

    I got was a screen saying "connecting"... leave it for ten minutes - still the same. Screenshot attached.

    I was on the phone to Virgin three times... what they're saying is 'it's a browser problem"- the internet connection is fine!

    All I know is that I can't use my chosen browser!

When I try to view the contents of these files from Firefox it will 'stop in the weeds' open a new tab for each line [I think] in the file. I can rename all files have a *.txt extension but rather Firefox will say to treat all *.sh and identical *.ksh *.txt files, but I can't figure out HOW to do this.
