Safari on the old MacBook Air vs iPad 2 Air?

What have been the experiences of others?

Using Safari, iPad our Air 2 family runs circles around the 2013 MacBook Air - loading pages almost instantly, scrolling is smooth, multiple tabs are without problems, etc.

El Capitan could be a culprit.  But basically, I'm writing to see what others have found - and if I should put up with some softness or go on an Odyssey of troubleshooting!

I have a MacBook Air model of base 2012 (4GB / 128GB) with El Capitan and features Safari extremely well - as you describe for your iPad. I can't help with your not why not but someone here will probably be able to help with that.

I want to change my old macbook air battery because he says "Replace now" and I was wondering if I could put a new battery in there. Can he manage?

Is there a replaceable battery by the user? If Yes, then you can replace it, but only with a battery for this same exact model. You can visit OWC to know what battery is required and it if is replaceable by the user.

  • Help, please!   Nothing WORKS loading Acrobat Pro XI on the new MacBook Air

I have a new MacBook Air.  I transferred all the files of old Macbook Air, including Acrobat Pro XI.  It does not work.   I bought Acrobat Pro XI on 18 February 2015.  I still have the email and the link for the download.  The link will only now in Acrobat Pro DC.  I discovered that with the code I have for Acrobat Pro XI, I could get a free upgrade.  OK, I downloaded Acrobat Pro DC and entered my key - that should work, especially if the upgrade is free, right?  EVIL.  He said that the key is not valid.  It IS valid for XI Pro because I have it on my old MacBook Air.  I went back and found the .dmg file that I downloaded originally to install Acrobat Pro XI.  Of course, who does not work on my new computer is - says it is not valid.

Someone else in Adobe on this forum gave me links to the windows that obviously do not work on my Mac.  I simply cannot change computers?  What kind of racket is Acrobat?  Please, someone help.  I tried to solve this problem ALL DAY.

I'm just screwed?  Is this really how Acrobat treats its customers?

    Hello

Please refer to the instructions to disable the Acrobat on your previous machine in the following link:

    Enable and disable Adobe products

Use the following link for download Acrobat XI pro:

Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X

Let us know if that helps.

  • How to change the name of the device (MacBook Air) to a new owner?

How can I change the name of the device (MacBook Air) to a new owner?

You change the name of the computer in the sharing preferences, if that's what you ask the subject. If this isn't the case, then be clearer on what you need to know.

If it is a computer newly purchased but used, then wipe you the drive and reinstall the original version of OS X that comes with it. So let the new owner set it up: what to do before you sell or give away your Mac - Apple Support.

  • Ads pop up on the new MacBook Air. Very frustrating.

I just plug a new MacBook Air on the weekend. I used help migration to transfer my files from one to the other. I think that it might cause a problem because whenever I try to use Safari and click a link, or anywhere on a page, it opens a new tab for a page popup for a betting site or similar. This was also a problem on my old MacBook. I was told that it was just slow. I understand there are a lot of these questions, but I can't find an answer which is quite recent. How can I solve this... Very frustrating and obviously it shouldn't be a virus/malware on a new product so could come from the former? Help!

There are some ideas in a post here:

Re: Redirects to a * site

When you all are migrating a model or OS X, more

These sorts of things can follow. I did not migrate anything, but

move my favorites web page via USB key.

Adware is a possibility. Browser or add-ons - extensions can be

the cause of some strange behaviors. Read the links in another page.

    Good luck in this case!

  • Transfer/upgrade of long registered version of PS CS4 on cell phone deadline on the new MacBook Air without going to monthly subscriptions?

Hi all, I'd be grateful for advice please as I'm going round in circles with this for days now.

I would like to use Photoshop on my new MacBook Air, but I don't want to pay a monthly fee. I have a registered version of CS4 on my old machine, with the serial number, but I do not see how to install it on the Air without going into the CC - I really want to pay a monthly fee to use a product that I already paid for.

So, my question is, are at - it an older version of the trial of the PS that I could download for Air and then upgrade? Obviously I can not put the original disc as there is no drive. Each trial download that I found so far installed PS CC.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Chloe,.

To be honest I'm not sure what the rule was with CS4, certainly today you are allowed to have Photoshop on both machines, but that might not always have been the case. In any case, you can test. Do not turn off on the old machine and try to install on the new. If he accepts your serial number, then you know it's possible, if not then you will need to disable it on your old Mac. I tend to think that for some people, CS4 is all they will ever need, but like you said there is no route update to CS5 now. The big problem with older versions is sure that they will not work with the new operating systems, more true for Mac and Windows, and also because that Camera Raw is not updated they need Adobe's DNG Converter to work with the latest cameras. Photographic membership is good value for the money, but not if you've spent $1000 in the course Photoshop purchase. Not much I can say really, but it's business.

  • Upgrade to the new operating system on the old MacBook Pro

I have an old MacBook Pro (13 "mid-2009). I can't upgrade to macOS Sierra because it is not supported. However, it has currently Mountain Lion installed on it, and I wonder what is the best route to find/install El Capitan now that it has been removed from the App store since the release of macOS Sierra.

    Thanks for any help.

I can't install from app store being the last OC my MacBook can run Lion OC X 10.7.5. Thus, as did not get the disc with all the iLife applications
I wonder if there is any other way I can get it on my Mac, since I need it a lot.

  • Update of the airport & MacBook Air

I've recently completed the update of the firmware for the Airport (version 7.6.7) express and now when I open my MacBook Air (13-inch, mid 2013 w/1.3 GHz Intel Core i5;) El Capitan 10.11.5; all updates are completed) to use the internet, there is no longer my home wifi automatically.  This is not started past immediately after the update.  Now all of a sudden whenever I wake up my laptop, I had to choose for my wifi instead of having the automatic connection.  I change all parameters of airport utility or with my network preferences.  No other device (including the iPhone and AppleTV) on the network had this problem.  I did take my laptop anywhere else, so I don't know if is not to remember all the networks (even if preferences have known networks listed automatically to connect with) or if it is just with my home network.

    Any suggestions?

On the MacBook Air, try to remove the current registration for the network in system preferences / network / WiFi / advanced

Click OK, and then click on apply

Turn off and restart the AirPort Express

Restart the MacBook Air and try to connect to the network to see if the MBA will remember things

  • New battery in old Macbook Air 11

    Hello

I have a Macbook Air 11 mid-2012, which is coming to an end with its battery life. I was wondering if its possible to replace the battery with one of the newer versions that has the greater autonomy? Its A1465 model, some of the new States seems to be too much. So physically it must adjust or am I completely wrong?

Would be sweet to upgrade the battery in the 2013-2015 as the battery life is up to 8 hours according to their specifications.

Apple will replace the battery in your MBP with one who is exactly the same as that of the MBA came with.

If you try the third party stack walk, you run a lot of risk.  If you buy a NuPower or Anker product, you should be fine.  eBay or other sources may be highly questionable and very costly in the long term.

    Ciao.

  • put the old macbook pro hard drive in the new macbook pro

so I have a MacBook Pro with a port of moniter fried on the motherboard and the battery started to swell physically so I removed the drive HARD and RAM end of 2009. So here's my question; Now, I received recently a late 2010 MacBook Pro with a smaller HARD drive if I put my 500 GB HDD from my old computer and now I wonder why it does not start even if it's a MacBook Pro registered, formatted and updated HARD drive already?

Does not work like that. The OS X is for the Mac that you pulled. Bus information processor and the room and everything. Buy an external USB box and put the old hard drive in it. You will be able to recover your personal data and you can delete it, format and use it for external storage.

You cannot shoot a hard drive with OS X work and put it in any Mac. Once installed, OS X belongs to the Mac, it was planned to organize. Any OS that way, is not just Mac.

    Bravo!
