    Windows Installer not properly installed

We just bought a new Dell with Windows Vista.  I tried to download i-tunes and I get the following error: could not access the Windows Installer service.   Windows can run in safe mode or Windows install not installed correctly.  I am not running in safe mode it should be setup of windows.   I am trying to install iTunes 8.0.2 Windows Vista 64-bit.  I found the info to repair Windows XP, but nothing for Vista.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.  I'm so frustrated.  Thank you.

    Hi BradandKim,

We will try to start the Windows Installer service and see if that helps.

    • Click Start orb

    • If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    • In the console tree, click Services and Applicationsand then click Services.

  • How to get the options standby or hibernation in safe MODE? [Windows 7]

I searched and sought, could not find anything either, but my thick head still think there may be an answer somewhere.

He said that I couldn't not Audio on safe MODE, got it working very well after following a tutorial. I think that the same thing can be done with the SLEEP or hibernation, I could be wrong.

Now, I still want to know how to get the SLEEP or HIBERNATE in safe MODE,
I don't care if my attempts to spoil anything on this shit pathetic excuse of HP Compaq for a laptop. I don't want any other help other then getting options 1 or both. This laptop has built in fan (had 3 other fans do), so why I run safe MODE or it would melt faster.

    -Windows 7 Home Prem 64-bit.

TLDR;  Anyway to get the sleep or Hibernate in safe MODE?

    Hello, Spencer,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your query details.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Please refer to the suggestions of Shawn "Cmdr" Keene [MVP] replied on May 28, 2014 and check.

  • How to go in safe mode on Windows 8, if the computer does not start?

Recently, my computer won't start, suspended to the start screen. In order to diagnose certain things, I need to get through safe mode. In earlier versions of Windows, I'd use F8 to get in. However, this is not an option in Windows 8. How would you like to do in safe mode on Windows 8 if the operating system does not start?

    Hello

This gives a try... sometimes it will not work with multiple partitions of hard disks installed because it looks like bad... It might work from a repair also disc...

    1) start from the Windows 8 DVD
    2) click Next
    (3) select repair your computer

    (4) select troubleshooting
    (5) select Advanced Options
    (6) select command prompt

    (7) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu Yes (note the spaces)
    (8) type - out

    (9) restart

    (10) to the start screen, select F8
    (11) to select Safe mode with networking

This can then be turned off when you are finished.

    (1) run by the lower left corner (Admin) command prompt right-click when Start appears.

    (2) type - Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu not (note the spaces)
    (3) type - out

  • Safe mode - NB200 Windows 7

I have tried to get Safe Mode to resolve certain problems and were experiencing great difficulty in getting. Most of the forums and messages say press 'f8' at startup (i.e. the Windows normal option). It did not work.
I discovered that by pressing "f2" IMMEDIATELY (literally a fraction of a second) after Windows begins to start - for me it was after my startup security key has been registered as I have a HARD drive encryption system, but would otherwise be just after the closure of the Toshiba page which offers the possibility of f2 or f12 that you get to the page that offers you the possibility of pressing "f8" to access the startup options page.

I hope this helps someone and prevents frustration I've had!

    Thanks for sharing this info.

  • Access to the Safe Mode on Windows 8

    Hello

I understand sometimes through troubleshooting or for other reasons, there is a need to access safe mode when using windows 8. What many people do not know is Windows 8 does not use F8 at startup to access the secure mode. It needs to be done inside of Windows 8, himself. The screenshots below will show you how to access safe mode when you use Windows 8.

On the startup screen, click settings:

Then click on change settings for PC:

Click gernal on the left side of the page:

On the right side scroll advanced boot:

The computer then stops, and you want to click on troubleshoot:

    Click on advanced options:

    Click startup parameters:

You will then see a page that lists information, click Restart on the right:

You will then choose which environment you want to connect to:

Its pretty impressive and all, but I would like to uninstall it.

Tried looking around for a program uninstall, but theres no sign of her.

    What should I do?

    Hello riskbreaker23

Do not try to boot from the Windows 7 support. Instead of starting the Windows Developer Preview and then put in the disc of Windows 7. Run the Windows 7 Setup program and follow the installation process of Windows. I would like to know if it works for you. Thank you.

  • Windows XP will only start in safe mode after Windows updated 09/02/2011

We have seven Windows XP SP3 computers.  All are set to download/install automatic updates every day at 03:00.  Today, one of them does not start in normal mode.  When the user arrives at 08:30, screen was black and would not, if power to monitor and PC were in.  The user powered PC turned off/on.  He came normally too far that the screen blue, just before the login box appears, sucked to boot options.  Boot in safe mode and safe mode with networking mode.  Restart in safe mode after shows the same result.  The event log shows a SaveDump:

A suggestion: as stated above, I thought I was wrong this posted in the Windows 7 Forum.  In fact, the link under XP for updates takes you to the Forum Windows 7 > Windows Update.  It seems that it would be less confusing, if questions update go to a forum, out of Windows 7 and Windows Update as a stand-alone speaker.

  • Vista system does not start after installation of windows update 10thFeb2010. Only start in safe mode. Windows Update does not open

Updates to auto (windows Update) using.  Downloaded automatically update yesterday (10thFeb10) and when I shut my computer down it started to install them - as usuall.  However start my computer than this 11thFeb10 am and he began to run through regestry files when starting up.  Then it is impossible to load windows.  Just went to a blank screen.  Rebooted several times and were able to start it in safe mode.  Tried system restore but the same thing happens.  Obviously there was something to this update that 'changed' my computer and I'm not happy about it!  Also thought that there could be new updates (perhaps to fix the last update) but I can not even Windows Update to open it.  Tried online and he tells me that I have never downloaded updates and that none are available.

I use Windows Ultimate x 86.  I hope someone can help me!

Got a response from Ms.  Good all who have this problem - you have an ATI Radeon graphics card?  Driver is causing the conflict.  Uninstall all the stuff ATI goes on ATI web site and install the download of 'single driver '.  Reboot and then you can download and install other fancy programs that come with your graphics card.

  • Error code 0x000000TF not able to boot in safe mode on Windows XP computer.

Original title: xp suddenly will not start in safe mode.

I haven't added any software and I don't seem to have any virus, any help?

    error message 0x000000TF 0 x 80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

    Try at least the basics:

    1. first of all, check the intregity of your player. If it is not quite right, you will not be able to start. If fix you (by running chkdsk), maybe it's ALL that is necessary. At the command prompt, run this command:

    Chkdsk /r

(There is a space before the slash). I know that that page has a slightly different order, but the /r switch (to repair bad sectors and recover readable data) is all that is necessary. For more information, see:

    http://vlaurie.com/Computers2/articles/Chkdsk.htm

Plan for several hours to run chkdsk/r. But this could very well be all that is necessary.

    2. If still no joy, you'll need to fix your boot.ini file. Until you do this, you will have to remove some attributes of this file, so you can change (the flags 'Hidden' and 'System' and 'Read only'). So, at the command prompt, enter these commands:

    C:ATTRIB H C:\\BOOT. INI
    C:ATTRIB R C:\\BOOT. INI
    C:ATTRIB S C:\\BOOT. INI

Then, delete the boot.ini file. It is fine to do, especially if there is something wrong with her! You create a new.

    DEL BOOT. INI

    Now, rebuild your boot.ini file:

    BOOTCFG /REBUILD

(even when there is a space before the slash)

Continue to follow the instructions on this page:

    http://tech.Icrontic.com/articles/repair_windows_xp/

Add installation to boot list? Enter y

    To enter load identifier, type:

Windows XP Home Edition (I think that's what you have. For XP Pro, type "Windows XP Professional")

To the operating system load options, type:

    / / fastdetect / noexecute = optin

(even once, there is a space before each slash)

Note that in case your CPU has NO other buffer overflow protection, you must not enter the "' / noexecute = optin" switch. " But it's a safe assumption you have and you should use it. Google or ask here if you don't know what CPU you have.

For pour ecrire to write the newly created boot sector on the hard disk, type the following at the prompt:

    FIXBOOT

(And press on Y to confirm).

I mean chkdsk /r first because that's all that would be necessary. But you also have other instructions. If still no joy, restoring the so-called manual system might work:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307545

If still no joy, I'd go for the Clean install (of course, you can also try a repair installation before that gap very last effort, but repair installs can sometimes be very difficult).

Have you confirmed that all your data is backed up. If you perform a clean installation, you erase your hard drive, you know!
