Hello Sonny

As far as I know that your device should be delivered with:
Recovery media
Tools & Utilities CD
MS OneNote 2003 and
MS Works 7.0

I hope that your device has been properly packed. Did you buy it second hand?
You can use Microsoft WXP installations CD and all the necessary drivers, you can install only using Tools & Utilities CD.

Good bye

  • HP Z820 - BIOS 02.55 rev A - SSD on LSI SAS 2308 do not start... "Non-system disk...". »

    Hello

MY Z820 workstation is equipped with an Intel 520 240 GB SSD as boot drive, on the integrated LSI SAS 2308 controller. It is a GPT disk.

I just tried to update my BIOS Rev 02.08 Z820. at 02.55 a. rev.

The update succeeded, and in the BIOS, I check that all the settings are the same as before the update. On the boot, however, I get an error saying "Non system disk or disk error."

Mass strorage option ROM is set to EFI mode.

No matter what the settings, it does not start in Windows.

I started 02.08 BIOS Rev A and now all is well again.

Is there a compatibility issue with the BIOS 02.55 Rev A combo, Intel SSD 520 and LSI SAS 2308?

  • Portege 660CDT "non system disk error"!

I just bought a used 660CDT and placed a new hard drive in it. Now, I can't load an OS due to this "Invalid System Disk" error. I tried to Boot on my XP Cd, but all the same. I tried to boot from a Disk Norton and nothing more... I have no idea what is wrong...
I made sure the Bios is set to start first with the drive and not the HARD drive.
I would use this system someday, but right now I don't see what is happening.
If anyone can help I would like to thank very you much.

    Thank you

    Hi Robert

AFAIK This oldie can treat only 1.3 GB HARD drive. How much capacity has a new HARD drive?
Unfortunately, it is not easy to say what is the problem, because who knows what you do exactly and what operating system you want to use. Just for info. This old Portege comes with Windows 95 and you should try to use the same operating system.

"Invalid system disk error means that Windows Setup could not copy the system files on the hard drive.

Also, check the download page for Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU and under archive, you will find some useful stuff for this old book.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A50 - message from system disk insert after replacing HARD drive

    Hello

I have an old A50 and the HARD drive comes with it's very slow and cracking now, so I'm trying to replace it with a new HDD - Hitachi travelstar 7200 RPM of 60 GB, with ATA interface.

I took the old HDD and put the new, then on A50 and press F12, and then insert the CD recovery and restored (installation) everything on the new HARD drive. Once it's done, I rebooted A50, but what I got is then a black screen with the message "Insert system disk..." Does anyone know what I did wrong? I got tired of it several times, but I got the same results...

    Thank you.

I think that Akuma is right.

On FAT32 and Windows 98 should define the active partition, and then it should work.
Then download a MS-DOS boot disk and burn it to a CD as Akuma has suggested. I tried it and it works :)
It is quite easy with Nero.

    Good luck!

Reboot safe mode (it is a slow process):

    -stop of the mac

-Start up the mac in shift, press and hold until you see appear it to progress bar, so you can let go

    -When everything started, connect

-Once connected, stop the mac once again, nothing else is necessary.

    -restart normally.

  • System Disk Image recovery and system recovery discs discs

    These terms are very confusing.

I had 3 HP computers to office over the past 15 years and have always comes to an ERD but my luck could escape and I'm going to need one of them.

However, I'm confused.  I thought that as HP comes with a drive D: original Image, it would be enough.

I make records of recovery or system disk Image?  Are they the same?  My HP Advisor on this computer again I do "system recovery discs!

I would really like someone explain (in novice language) which mean the above and what I need to do?

I appreciate so much people in the help forums, as I learned more from them than books I have.

    Twinkie3

    Twinkie3

Hello Twinkie3, I suggest making the game to restore HP Recovery disks.  Even if you have the recovery restore D: hard disk partition, it may be damaged or if the hard drive fails and needs to be replaced, you would not be able to access the recovery partition.

If you have to replace the hard drive, you can only insert disc 1 of the the recovery set and put the system back as it was when shipped. Without these records, you would need to try to acquire at HP for a cost to you, and after a while, they are not available.

The set of recovery disks cannot be done once and only be used to restore your particular system.

Normally, it takes 3 DVD discs but can take longer depending on the size of the restore partition.

The HP advisor don't constantly remind important you to these disk since it's a step in maintaining your system over time.

    Hello

    You can view these methods:

Method 1: As a first step, check to see if the hard disk becomes detected or listed in the Basic Input/Output system (BIOS). Also, be sure to change the boot order in the CMOS settings so that thehard drive is the first on the list.

Note: To learn how, see the documentation provided with your computer or contact the manufacturer of your computer.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from configuration can resolved BIOS/CMOS settings. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 2: If the manufacturer has installed the Recovery Console on your computer, perform the check disk to fix this.

At the recovery console command line, type:

    Chkdsk /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • Win 7: how to pass message Non system disk during startup?

    Hello

I was updating my PC on the site of the OEM. I downloaded and install two Seagate firmware.

After that, whenever I start my PC, no system disk, please strike any key to continue spell before the start of Win 7.

May I ask why? Is it because this firmware is not for my hard drive?

Can I uninstall the firmware, it is very risky to cause more problem?

Any way for me to move this to Direct Win 7 boot?

Next time I'll be more careful during the installation of the drivers of the OEM site.

    Thank you

    Hi there,

You can enter the boot order in the BIOS and change the Boot order to hard drive as the first boot device.

You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

Important: Change the BIOS (Basic input output system) / Semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • "Insert system disk" message at boot Portege M700

    Hi all

my friend give me his old toshiba Portege M700 and I have a problem with it.

When he starts just shows toshiba logo and then it "Please insert system disk and press any key when ready.

I do not have any disk where can I download the iso and then burn it to disc or something like that, I don't know really much about PCs and sorry for my bad English, please help me if someone can

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Unfortunately, it is not possible to download the image of Toshiba.
Where you n t have recovery disc for your model mobile, visit this page to order this disc: http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
But I don't very well if you'll be able to order the disc because of the age of the laptop of m

However, the message: insert the disk system is displayed because the system is not installed on the Toshiba Portege laptop, that's why it asks for the disc.

Of course, you can use the clean Microsoft Windows disk to install the system, the essential drivers are available on the page of the driver Toshiba UE Toshiba image is not necessary to reinstall the system, if you are the owner of a MS Windows disc

  • Portege R200 - PXE - E61: media test failure - insert system disk

My Portege R200 PPR21E-00K00QEN computer means the usual stuff of toshiba: IE

PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable of
PXE - MOF outgoing PXE ROM

    Insert system disk in drive

Now my model isn't a hard drive and I bought second hand, so I have no recovery disks.
I checked the HARD drive and its seems connected properly.

Would I need to buy an external drive and try a system disk or is there anything else I could try.

    Any suggestions or advice?

PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable message appears because the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN.
    Why?
Because it could not start the HARD drive, or another source like CD/DVD drive.
Usually this happens because of faulty HARD drive.

    So how to fix?

I think first of all you will need to replace the HARD drive.

Since the Portégé R200 doesn't support CD/DVD drive, you must install the system using bootable flash USB stick memory or you would need to buy an external CD-ROM USB drive that would be compatible with protégé R200

  • "Non-system disk" - Satellite 4100XCDT

I recently acquired an old Toshiba Satellite 4100XCDDT. When I turn it on, it says:

    "Non-system disk".
"Replace the disk and then press a button any."

I know that the HARD drive has been formatted and he lost the operating system on it. I tried to insert the copy of Windows 98se that accompanies it, but nothing happens. I think it's looking for a floppy disk. Everything that goes with it have been the copy of Windows 98se, a charger and the laptop. I have no idea of specs is because I havn't been able to run it again. Can you help me?

    Hello

Especially this message appears if the laptop can not find a bootable data carrier or the CD-ROM or the HARD drive is not able to start.
You have a boyfriend of good feelings. If you want to install the Win98, you first of all the accompanying disk. (see the page of the Toshiba driver)

The accompanying disk contains programs to set up Toshiba computers
installation information and test equipment. It also contains files and utilities that allow you to get the most out of your Toshiba computer and are capable of detecting your CD-ROM drive on the Toshiba computer during the boot process.

If you have not already done so, put this disk in the A: floppy drive
Restart your computer by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE. This will activate the Toshiba companion disk utility.

If you need access to your CD-ROM drive, then remove the word "rem" out the following lines in the Autoexec. BAT and CONFIG. SYS on the accompanying disk.

    REM if exist toscd001 a:\mscdex D:TOSCD001 /M:10 (AUTOEXEC. BAT)
REM device = a:\toscdrom.sys (CONFIG. (SYS)

    good luck my friend ;)

  • Tecra A2 (02R002) PTA20A Insert System Disk

I recently got one of these laptops given by a friend who has updated, and since reformatting the entire HARD drive, whenever I start, it flashes to the toshiba start screen and then "insert system disk in drive and press any key when ready" now, I tried to insert a windows xp home disc and also a live ubuntu disc , and he does not choose one of them. Am I missing some special system of toshiba drive?

No, you're not missing something special. I can explain why he doesn't like by you:

you´ve formatted the hard drive and the bootsequence is not set that starts the CD drive before the hard drive. So I suggest, if you have a winxp or a live ubuntu disc, then press simply F12 or 'c' and it should start up.
