Samba75 USB Modem GPRS/EDGE cannot connect after installing Vista SP1

Hi all

I have a laptop under Windows Vista Home Premium. I can't connect to the Internet using my right to Samba75 USB GPRS/EDGE modem, once I installed Vista Service Pack 1.

Any idea on how to solve this problem? Because of some network security options has been added by SP1 of Vista who refused to connect me with my modem?

Kind regards.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the reply.

I found that the services required to support the diap network are some corrupted how (in other words, when you enter Services, you can start/stop/restart the service. all options is disabled). I'm not looking for is the first cause, but I think so. FYI, I already turned off all firewalls including Windows Firewall.

I will fix this by reinstalling a new copy of Vista. Tired of the trousbleshooting.

I use a high modem flow Cricket to connect to the internet, but lost the connection from the upgrade of XP Home, XP Pro. I have a Compaq nx6310. Recently upgraded to Windows XP Professional (ver 5.1, service pack 3) The Cricket Modem plugs into the usb port. Now, I get the error message "a connection to the remote computer could not be established. You may need to change the network settings for this connection. "Received error 720: PPP settings on my computer and on the remote computer do not match. (see screenshot below)

Firewall is configured correctly to allow the modem in Windows Firewall and my anti-virus program.

I have determined that it is not the modem because it works correctly on the borrowed laptop.

I spent several hours on the phone with the internet provider and it was determined that the modem is working properly according to the diagnosis, they talked me through as well. It was at this time tech ISP suggested that I have to contact HP.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

  • interruption of the internet connection after installing vista sp2, only a local network

    Hello
Since I installed vista sp2 last week, I have no internet connection. Just, my laptop connects to the local network. I had already tried to uninstall sp2, but this does not resolve the issue. A restore of the system has not been successful (do not know why, windows just said failure of system restore). I also deleted my antivirus program and my firewall...
The internet works occasionally for a short time and when I start in safe mode.
Because I live in a House that I have to use a fix ip, gateway and dns. After you install sp2, windows says my default gateway does not match my ip address and subnet mask when I change the properties of TCP/IPv4. Using another laptop with XP, the internet connection works with the same settings.
I would be grateful for a quick solution, without formatting ;)

I've highlighted the TCP/IPv6 line of course ;) the button was inactive when even
in the registry, I saw WHAT TCP/IPv6 is already disabled

my internet actually works, but I don't know why
I deleted the file DisabledComponets for TCP/IPv6 in the registry, rebooted, create one, rebooted and it worked
but I do not know why :)
I hope that my internet is still functional

    Thank you for your support

  • Cannot connect after install

I just bought a new SSD with the intention of doing a fresh install of Windows on it. I downloaded Windows 8.1 installation directly from Microsoft Media on a USB key. I went through the installation, and it seemed to work perfectly well. However, when I started to install programs, I am essentially impossible to restart the computer. When I do, it attempts to load the login screen, but it is completely empty. I tried to reinstall Windows, and I am able to restart perfectly fine right after it loads everything first... but every time I try to install anything (Windows, Chrome, graphics drivers updates, printing software, etc.) he comes back to the same problem when I restart... screen empty, unable to do anything, much less actually connect. It is the first time that has happened for reinstalling Windows and I am quite lost.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I can understand the feeling of not being able to see the machine how it should work and I'll be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    2. How did you create installation media for Windows 8 (which is the link/URL)?
    3. When you say new facility, do you mean clean install?
    4. Which operating system was installed before Windows 8?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check.

Step 1: Please refer to the following and create the installation media for Windows 8.

Create an installation media (DVD/USB) for Windows 8

    (f) click Auto repair of Advanced Options screen.
    (g) following, choose the operating system by clicking on its button.
    (h) Windows 8 will then look for problems on the hard drives and verify that all required files are intact.

Step 3: The restore of the system on the Advanced Options screen

  • L830 satellite - Bluetooth cannot connect after installing Win 7

I reinstall (Windows 7 Home Premium) on my laptop PSK84V-02400UAR Toshiba Satellite L830, and install all the drivers, but after you install all the drivers, I can't connect any Bluetooth device to this tour...

When I search using the Bluetooth window it shows in the search window and after a while ' * could not detect the remote device * ' *... Kindly help... awaitng your valuable response.

Can you please post exactly details how you installed the software and drivers Bluetooth?
I think that you have made some mistakes there

Your laptop supports the Atheros WLan card. Right?
I think that this Atheros WLan card compatible with BT as well. This means that you need to install a special driver that allows to share WLan and BT in a single module.

This driver calls filter for Atheros Bluetooth driver package.
Therefore, install the driver Atheros Wlan, Atheros Bluetooth driver filter and battery Toshiba BT package.

Then BT must be installed correctly and you should be able to activate it in order to start the pairing process.

    Bill

Train from my own experience the SP1 is not fully compatible with the various drivers.
In case you looks that the audio driver does not work with SP1.

Don t know what sound card you have (maybe Realtek?), but a sound card driver update would be desirable.
If it doesn t help you will need to wait until it comes out an update of the audio driver

  • Problems with sound after installing Vista Ultimate SP1 on HP Pavilion Dv4

I lost sound after installing Vista SP1 Ultimate on my HP Pavilion Dv4... everything was fine before. Help, please.

Go to the HP support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

If there are Vista drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the installation card mother/chipset drivers, then the SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers and other device drivers.
