Same album name various artists

Hi there, I have two album of the same name, but that is to say different artists 'Atlas' is the name of the album shared by artists real estate and FM-84. My iPod classic group them under one name when I look in the option of the Album. How to separate these two without renaming the name of the album? See you soon

You can not. My approach is to use the < Album > - < Album artist > scheme under the name of the album when the same title is used by more than one album. I also move any artist information invited / featured in the track name and use a common artist. For more details, see grouping of tracks in albums .

  • When I sort by artist in my music, I want to see individual artists for songs, NOT the artist album called various.  Is this possible?

I have an album called Billboard Hits 1962.  It's a compilation with several artists on the album album.  I notice that I can import music from my iPhone, but when I want to watch my music by artist, he ONLY see me the ARTIST of the ALBUM, not the artist of the song.

Is it possible to change this so that I see an album or various artists, but when I list by the artist see the list of individual artists not the different which he named everyone.

  • iTunes organization: how to fix several "Various Artists".

    Hello

When I click on the 'Artists' view, everything is very well organized with the exception of three entries of Various Artists.  I want all the albums with 'Various Artists' under the terms of the same artist section.

Various Artists - main entry, 57 albums (for most soundtracks): that's what I want everything to be under.

Various Artists - album set, soundtrack.  Can not get with the rest of the artists.

Various Artists - 2-12 titles of a compilation.  The first track of this is properly listed under the main heading of Various Artists, but I can't get the rest to go with it.

Note: When I use the Album view, all my songs for the album from split are listed under the same album, but they are still distributed under artist.

I tried to use "Get Info" to ensure that everything is in order, but it seems to fit, but it still does not move.

    Hello

    This problem keeps popping up.

Navigate to one of the pieces that is in the right place and copy the text by the artist of the album - Various artists.

It is important to make the info get in the footsteps of rogue and copy in the field artist album the text of various artists that you copied in the previous step.

If the tracks do not go to the right place after doing this, drag the traces of red on the desktop and delete them from your iTunes library. Quit iTunes.

Restart iTunes and then add the titles to the iTunes library... They should now all merge as should be... It may take a few goes and may take some time... See what's happening.

  • My iTunes is a collection of songs with the same artist, the same album artist and the same album separately. How can I fix it?

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? I put a lot of effort in organizing my collection and I hate to see 15 sections 'Lil Wayne' in my artist entry or right of the complete discography of Paul McCartney by Paul McCartney with 1 song. I tried to edit all the files together, intentionally misspelling the name and spelling then it right once again, but it do not work and that the use of work well, but it doesn't seem to work.

If iTunes displays multiple instances of an artist or an album then generally what works is to select all the associated tracks and use read information to add say end X for each of the areas that the slopes have in common:

    • For an album. Album, artist of the Album and artist (if the artist is the same for all tracks) *.
    • For an artist; Album artist (artist and unless there is the comments/featured artists listed that should not be changed)

Apply the change which merges things together, then remove the excess characters. Occasionally, it can help to close and reopen iTunes between two renaming operations. Part of a compilation should also be set in a consistent manner.

    * If the titles must be synchronized to a non - iOS device, there should be a common artist and/or album must be defined as a Compilation.

Use the view of songs and display fields, Album, genre, Album, Album artist, genre artist Album, artist and genre artist side by side to see you whether or not it is necessary to change the artist and if sorting values could be the cause of additional problems. See grouping in albums, titles for help if necessary.

Another tip duplicates stubborn reality. At one point, I had three batches of various artists in the view of artists in my iTunes game library that wouldn't meet usual backward X treatment. What I found worked was adding the final X, but with each group, iTunes wanted to separate start typing a value and let iTunes autocomplete of the Var... for various artists. Collection of AutoComplete lists seemed to work when the full value of collage/montage does not.

This works often but I had cases where securities combined when a letter has been added but divorced when he was kidnapped again.

The following sections provide additional solutions:

Often a solution: select all the tracks on the album, file > info (or right-click > news > Details) and give them all a single "album artist", or check the indicator of "compilation" (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085#17670085).

  • Why iTunes classify an artist as being various artists albums

    It therefore has no value

    GREAT HELP thanks again itunes

Can you give us some details?  rules of iTunes for the grouping of securities are as follows:

    • all the songs have the same value of the artist and the same value of Album , and/or
    • all the songs have the same value of the artist of the Album and the same value of Album , and/or
    • all the songs have the same value of Album and the flag is set to "the Album is a compilation... »

The latest editions of iTunes have had some problems with a proper evaluation of these rules - there is a known for this workaround solution:

    • Select all the songs that should be grouped together in an album
    • Right click > information
    • Add a character "dummy" to the value of the Album - for example, replace "Hunky Dory" "xHunky Dory."
    • Click OK to close the editor - the songs should now be correctly grouped
    • Repeat the Edit to remove the dummy character - grouping should always be kept.

With respect to compilations, iTunes supports two methods:

    • the Album artist affecting a common value (for example, "Various Artists")
      • If you have set up iTunes to organize his media files these albums will be stored in iTunes artists Media\Music\Various
      • This method will not work if you use a template more old iPod Classic or others - their firmware does not recognize the Album artist tag
    • definition of the indicator "the Album is a compilation... »
      • If you have set up iTunes to organize his media files these albums will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\Compilations (regardless of any value in the tags of the artist or Album artist )
      • I'll need to check, but I think that the flag "Album is a compilation...". ' is not recognized by (some?) iOS devices
  • Various artist - sorting issues iTunes

So I have a huge library of compilations, some are properly identified in terms of the song name, artist name, album name and "album is a compilation of songs by various artists" checked.  HOWEVER

the vast majority of them simply have Various Artists, or where the various in many cases, the name of the real artist is part of the name of the file (if necessary).

The question I have, if you use iTunes 12.x is when I use the 'artist' list, the "various artists" are not all the albums under this unique collection, but rather, it chooses random albums, or in some cases only parts of the album and lists each item individually, so my 'view artist' list in iTunes is huge.

I mucked the tab ' info/sort' a lot, but in many cases, it is just after I click OK.

I think that the changing data in iTunes 'info' window does actually change metadata in the files themselves, then it is likely that these metadata which is the problem?

If anyone has a solution, it's getting boring really have this huge list and having hunting a complete compilation because iTunes it scatters is different parts in a variety of groups.

Setting usually a common Album title and the artist of the Album for each album will fix things.

If the titles must be synchronized to a non - iOS device, this must be a good artist or the album must be defined as a Compilation.

If iTunes displays multiple instances of an artist or an album then generally what works is to select all the associated tracks and use read the information to add say an end X for each of the areas of the slopes have in common:

  • Multiple images with the same file name no doubt prevent export

iMac running OS X El Capitan v10.11.6; Photos 1.5

I'm trying to export approximately 331 images and I get an error report saying that only 169 of the exported images due to the inability to create files for 159 of the images.  Then the report gives me the names of files of the first 100 images for which files were not created.  After looking at many images that would not create a file, I realized that, in any case, there was at least one, if not several, other images with the SAME EXACT FILE name as the image in question.  I can't change the names of files by right click on "info".  I tried to export the images and change the names of files to export using the sequential option and the option of album name - always having exactly the same problem.  I even tried not to export an image at once and change the name of the file individually or no available. Is there a work around that? I desperately need to export those specific images. I am trying to create a photo album for shown to mothers who choose a family with which you want to place their child/ren for adoption. I'm at my wit's end.  The kicker is I'm moving towards trying to export all my pictures, and that's going to be a HUGE problem in course for me, so I really hope that there is a way around this question somewhat simply. I am a hobby photographer and use the computer for businesses and crafts.  I've seen a few posts that included answers referencing "AppleScript" - I have no idea how to do something like that.

From here on I will DEFINITELY ensure that my Canon continually numbers the names of image files and automatically resets.  For the other photos other than Canon, is possible to rename images during the import of the lot?

All advice and help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Finder has the ability to rename files with various models of lot.  Simply select all the files to rename, right-click one of the selected files, choose 'Rename X points... '. ", and then set the options and click on the button"Rename ".

  • iTunes 12.3.2 separates the tracks that I imported as different albums of an artist.

I'm grabbing at straws for this problem.

I tried to import an album in iTunes, it listed each track separately (artist unknown/song/etc) I used the 'get info' for many of them, their changed to the correct name of the artist and album. In the previous experiments that would have changed all the tracks to be associated with an artist, on the same album, but in iTunes by the artist list there every song it's a clean entry of the artist and the album (a 19 other lists). I have other albums from this artist so I "copied and pasted" info from the artist to make sure that it is a 'perfect' iTunes and nothing changes.

I even checked 'part of a compilation", no change.

I deleted and re-imported, tracks countless times now. I stopped and restarted several times now. I threatened my computer several times now.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

You can re-create the database of Windows Media Player and see if that fixes the problem.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    a: Exit Windows Media Player.

b:  Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Playerand then click on OK.

c: select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d:  Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

a: the release of Windows Media Player.

b: click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

c : select the Media Player folder and then click delete on the file menu.

    d: Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
