Sampling frequency for two different routes for acquisition of data USB-6009

Hello

I use a box USB-6009 and incorporating the "daq assistant" to change the sampling frequency.  I'm trying to find a way to set the sampling frequency to two unique values for the two separate channels.  I tried implementing two assistants daq and different for each channel sampling frequency setting, although it does not work.  Is it possible to set the sampling frequency for all channels, and then reduce the rate for another channel - or an alternative?  I would be recognizing any input on this matter, thank you!

-Anthony

All tasks on a DAQ card using the sample clock should use the same clock.  Therefore, you cannot have two tasks on the same sample of DAQ card at different rates.

Alternatives would be:

1. to combine all channels in a single task and to accept additional data

2 get an additional DAQ card to use at the same time

  • measurement of voltage battery pinout 1.5 V AAA DC with acquisition of data USB-6009

Hello, I have a very basic question with pinout when measuring 1.5 V voltage on a USB DAQ 6009, using an AAA battery. Is it okay to connect (+) to AI0 and (-) to such AI4 suggested in MAX?

    Nothing else required?

    Thank you

    Hi feanorou,

Yes, you have the Terminal configuration as award-winning, then using the 0 pine as AI (GOT 0 +) and using PIN 4 HAVE (I - 0) is a good setup for measuring the AAA battery.

  • temperature sensor with the acquisition of data usb-6009

    Greeting

I want to use a sensor with usb-6009 to save the variation of body temperature about 15 minutes and then use these data in labview.

If you please you can advise me with the best low-cost use and the way/circuit sensor connect it to the usb-6009.

    Hi ba7soun,

If you can use with USB-6009 LM35 depends on the range of output voltage of the sensor. I understand that it requires a 5V supply with respect to the ground, which you can provide to the USB-6009 (more than 200 my should not come from the USB-6009).

The maximum range of the USB-6009 is - 10V to + 10V, while the minimum range is - 1V to + 1V, also probably the output signal of the LM35 will be in this range. What you need to do is to compare the full range of the output signal with the range of the DAQ divided by 2exp (14) (because it is a 14 bit ADC) and ensure that the first is much more than the latter.

  • About precision of analog input of acquisition of data USB-6009

    Hello

I have a problem where I'm reading a temperature signal (10mV / ° c) using the USB-6009 case, but a problem of accuracy of the input signal of the DAQ hardware.  The temperature at room temperature reads at a constant 230mV (23degC) using a multimeter device, but with the DAQ hardware, I see the signal bouncing around to 25mV, + effects greatly my work.

I was hoping someone might have a solution to this as my brief search forums nothing have mounted.  Is there a way to average this broad band to the extent of the input signal or from resovle anyway?

    Hi mdzz,

What development environment do you use?

Here is an example of LabVIEW that should do what you need.

  • Looking for a way to mount an acquisition of data USB-6008

Anyone has a suggestion for an acquisition of data USB-6008 mounted on a Panel. I use it for a system where it should not be loose. I have a few ideas, but hope that someone smarter already has a good solution.

    Thank you

It is not a robust application, but the box will be moved and I don't want it put in the open air. I simply put a velcro pad on the back and the atttaching in this way. Should be all I need.

  • Need a new acquisition of data USB multifunction device

    Hello

Currently I use a PCIe - 6321 Multifunction DAQ hardware to control my stepper motor. I need to change the PCIe - 6321 and use the engine with a device for the acquisition of data USB multifunction bit PCIe - 6321. I'm not sure which USB model to select. Can I please get help about the choice of the right MIO USB data acquisition device that works similar to the PCIe - 6321.

    Thank you

    Bharath J S

The 6212 differs from the 6321 somewhat on the digital side, which probably you use to control your stepper motor.  For example, it was only software DIO timed tasks and has only 2 counters with a set of features (e.g. no output meter in the buffer).

  • Sampling frequency for the output of an acquisition of data USB-6211 card?

    Hello-

I use a CGI CMOS FireWire camera to read an interference figure, then using a transformed of Fourier transform spectral interferometery (FTSI) phase recovery simple algorithm to detect the relative phase between the successive shots.  My camera has a linear 28 kHz scan rate, and I programmed my phase retrieval algorithm take ms ~0.7 (of a trigger of camera at the exit of the phase). I use the live signal to control a piezoelectric stack, by sending a voltage single sample to the analog output of a data USB-6211 acquisition card.

Send this output voltage increases the time of my loop 4 m, I would really like to achieve a 1 kHz or better sampling rate. Is the problem with my DAQ card or with the processor in my computer? The DAQ cards of NOR can support these speeds?

    Thank you

    -Mike Chini

    Hey Mike,

With USB, your loop rate will be around or under 1 kHz, even on the best of the systems. USB has a higher latency and less determism PCI and PCIe. You can get rates AO one much better sample on a PCI card, potentially a PCI-6221. We have a few HAVE points of reference for targets of RT for PCI, / AO in a loop, you should be able to get similar performance in Windows, but if you do a lot other treatments may suffer from your local loop rates.

    Hope this helps,

  • Sampling frequency for digital sampling (cDAQ-9172 & NI 9401)

    Hello!

I have a cDAQ-9172 with NI 9401 C-series (digital) module. I would like to taste the digital inputs with a sampling frequency of e.g. 400 or 200 kHz. My problem is that I can only choose a clock 100kHzTimebase and therefore only get a sampling rate of 100 kHz. The 20MHzTimebase clock is too fast, as it gives me a sampling rate of 20 MHz). Is it possible to get a defined user e.g. 200 kHz sampling frequency, dividing for example down the clock of 20MHzTimebase?

Thank you! Last post and this article using the internal one or cDAQ chassis counters has solved my problem.

  • Edge counting and Source of Timing for timed loop on the request for Acquisition of data - not acquiring data on specified rising edge

    Operating system: Windows XP

    Hardware: PCI 6259

    Terminals used: PFI0 and PFI2

    Counters used: Ctr0 and Ctr1

IM developing an application for the acquisition of data where timed loop synchronization source comes from my PFI2 (using the string A of an encoder).  IM basically trying to acquire data based on the number of ticks from my encoder.  For the synchronization source, I use counter 1 to capture the rising edge and have the loop time-acquisition of data.  At the same time, Im using the counter 0 to count the number of rising edges so I know exactly in what tick data was acquired.  PFI0 and PFI2 are connect to channel A of the encoder.

    Questions:

Timed loop acquires data at each tick, because when I discover the data (text) file is missing count of my encoder value.  Is it because there is a limitation on the Windows operating system?  I used a noculars to measure the frequency at the maximum rotation of the channel encoder and 6,757 kHz.  All solutions?

Also, is there anyway I can route the source channel internally an encoder to generate synchronization source instead of using another counter?  I have attached my VI.

    Hello

All the samples that you acquire will be read by LabVIEW in a sequential manner. Figure 4-21 on the M-series on page 80 (4-34) shows that you will acquire all the samples you request all channels that you enjoy in sequentially.

  • DAQmx task Read DAQmx with sampling frequency of 10 Hz produced much too much data

I have a simple configuration with a strain of channel 4 OR-9237 amp holds a carrier of series C of WLS - 9163 (wired ethernet mode) - Details probably does not matter.

I used MAX to create a DAQmx task associated with which all four gauges samples.  The calendar setting is "Scan Loads" is continuous sampling, 2 k buffer (read samples) and 10 Hz rate.  I guess that this task would generate 40 data values per second - 10 for each channel.

I have a simple loop of reading using DAQmx Read.vi that works always (without any stimulation time).  Playback is set to read all available data and then pump it into a table.
In the attached example, I also added a few words of debugging to stop the loop after N iterations.

As the loop is programmed with a 0.2 second period, I expect each pass of the loop to read about 8 samples or 2 samples per sensor.  Instead, I get hundreds each passage.  It's like reading has substituted the sampling frequency specified in the task of the unit.  I absolutely need data to be material to the rhythm.

    Where have I lost?

    Thanks Adnan,

I changed your example I selected 'Strain gage' entry analog and then lowered the minimum and maximum thresholds to +-1-2.  What happens is that each other in the loop, I 2048 samples or zero samples.  The display flashes a whole line and then it clears any other past.

In response to your second post, I understand that the loop cannot run quite right that I select.  I think that, but at a sampling frequency of 10 Hz, I have to sleep on the software side for nearly a minute before I built 2 K samples.

I played with the frequency of sampling, assigning to various values from 0.1 to 10000Hz.  The behavior is the same until I approach the high rates where available samples remains to 2048-4096 sometimes, the display becomes continuous.

Ahhh, Darn.  Yet another search was this link that points to the root of my confusion.  The 9237 can taste arbitrary rates using its internal clock.  Duoh!  I wish that the pilots are smart enough to warn you if there is a discrepancy between the selected sampling rate and capabilities of the device

  • Default settings for digital lines? USB-6009

    Hi all

I use the digital lines on my USB-6009 to control normally open SSRs.  When I turn on the system, I would like to have the digital lines on the USB-6009 case to automatically configure themselves to be output digital lines put in position "Low", so I don't spend on my SSRs until I gave the command.  Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you.

Cannot set default on 600 x Renault States, unfortunately.

Do a genius on the hardware side, knowing the lines are pulled high on the acquisition of data is initialized. and if certain combinations of outputs produced a dangerous situation, you must stop to happen in hardware.  Good practice to do so anyway.

Another option is to use an analog output, those can pump a little more power than otherwise to 1V, and do what is usually not sufficient to turn of SSRs.

  • Communication problem between LabView and acquisition of data USB 6259

I want to monitor a data USB-6259 acquisition using LabVIEW 8.6. However, when you try to create an explicit task (using the DAQ assistant) in order to acquire a signal, I get the message asked supported device found¨. I can see the USB-6259 under ¨Devices and interfaces¨ to the MAX, but when I try to import the configuration data for NOR-DAQmx 8.7.2 in MAX, I get the message ¨Can´t import file configData.nce.  File not found¨. I use NEITHER-DAQmx 8.7.2.  Any suggestions?

    Hi, Corneliu,

This question could be generated due to a corruption of database of MAX. Here is a link to restore the database to the MAX.

  • Generation and acquisition at the same time, acquisition of data USB-6356

    Hello

I have a VI how is able to read entries with a USB DAQ-6356 and I use a generator of signals 'Agilent 33522 A '. I want to generate and acquire with the acquisition of data.

In fact it works but not well, the frequency is not very stable and does not stop the 2nd loop with 1 (2nd is generating, 1 is Acquire).

    Thanks in advance

P.S my VI isn't a state machine true because I need to fight against it at the moment.

OK, so you're at 3 ms/s in writing and reading at 1.25Ms / sec and you wonder why he has a little difference in the frequency set?  Ideally, you want to read and write to share a sample clock but by selecting at least the same frequency clock (or one that is one multiple of the other) would go a long way to fixing this source of your error.

The second source of error: you generate a contineous waveform.  unless you select 'whole number of cycles' there is a discontinuity when the end is reached at an arbitrary phase and the phase is reset to zero at the beginning of the wave.  DAQ assistant writing can "Use Waveform Timing" to adapt its sync settings to the dt waveform and the number of samples.

  • Difference between DAQ and DAQmx for acquisition of data PCI 6534

    Hello

I use the PCI DAQ 6534 card for my digital I/o transfer. I am beginner in the labview.

I want to store the data coming in memory and the reading of the data at the level of the trigger.

I have seen the examples in the labview. Some have used DAQmx and DAQmx read write that screws and some have used the confg DIO port and all...

So I want to know the difference between these two. For my application that I use?

    Hey Bo,

First of all, I would recommend that you discover the NI 6533/6534 for NOR-DAQmx help. You may be able to find some of your answers in this help document. Now for what you try to do in your application, it looks like you are only buying data. If this is the case, with the 6534, the device acquires data in memory shipped as soon as the DAQmx series start task VI, as long as you don't start hardware triggers have in place. If you have a trigger of starting material, then will make the purchase of the aircraft after the DAQmx start task VI and only after you receive this material trigger. If you call not the DAQmx Read VI, then the data will be stored in the memory board for you, as the driver manages this data in the on-board memory storage, until reading DAQmx VI is called, which at that time, data is transferred to the Board of Directors in the memory of the computer. Once you get it in the computer's memory, you can do whatever you want with these data, as this graph or treat. If you look at the sample programs (which have been mentioned on how to find those in a previous post), you can find an example that little shows you how it works. One of the examples that you can check is called reading Dig Port-Ext Clk.VI. In this example, it sets up to read a finite number of samples and then starts the task. If you set a breakpoint on the line of the error after the VI begin, the data will be acquired in the amount of on-board memory. Then when you cancel the break of the VI, data will be extracted from the amount memory embedded in the memory system with the reading VI DAQmx. Again, the pilot takes care to put the data in the memory board for you once you start the task.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about this issue. Also, certainly, discover and try to run all the programs related to the 6534 examples so that you can learn how the equipment works and how to use features to do what you want your program to do. Also, be sure to read through the help on the 6534, as well as the help of VI documentation to learn what makes each function. Thank you and have a nice day.

    Kind regards

    DJ L.
