SanDisk Mobile Ultra 64 GB write protection error

I bought this card 4 to 6 months ago. It has worked great since last week-two when I started having problems with listening music etc (sometimes he stop or change the music in the middle of the track). I first thought that his problem with Android and I need to reflash it or maybe that the headphones are broken, but when I reflash Android I always format microsd and here's my problem - I can't do it!

GParted on ubuntu gives me error with the substitution of partition (something like "this partition exists") and after updating, everything is as if it was earlier.

On windows, I tried sdformatter (write protection error), easeus (near gparted) and windows tool (it is said that "the device can not be format").

Now I don't know what to do. I want to "fix" myself, but maybe its totally broken.

Any advice? Can I do something to make it useful?

Thank you

Both pis, man. There is no way to correct the error of write protection. You can call SanDisk to get a replacement.

  • Recovery USB key comes with write protection error when starting at the beginning of recovery

I just got my key USB recovery flash in the mail from HP.  I have an ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad and I had accidentally wiped the OS off the coast of the SSHD.  I go into the BIOS, change the boot order, even tried disabling and enabling legacy mode secure boot and I get the same error once I have tell the laptop to boot with the USB key.  He comes up with an error cscript.exe and says that it is impossible to write in the C: disk because it is write protected.  I can cancel, try again or continue, but the laptop stops just after these buttons.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

I had set up the SSHD acceleration and 24 GB cache in a RAID0 configuration, as if it was before I wiped the OS.  Apparently, which caused the error, because recovery what USB works fine once I reset both drives non-RAID configurations.  I'll be able to put back them in a RAID0 once the OS is installed?

  • Flashdrive USB 3.0 write protection error?

Good, then, one a few months ago I bought a new flash drive, a flashdrive Lexar 3.0 with 32 GBs. yesterday, I was copying a file to my flash drive, then he stopped at halfway with an error message. The error message:

I started to get a little scared, so, as usual, I looked online for help. Apparently, other people have had the same problem. I tried all methods I thought to use the command prompt to change the Windows registry. Yet, none of them worked again! My last choice was to format the flash drive. Then, I started trying to format it. Then, a familiar message box popped up: "the disk is write protected". (As seen above). I was confused; Why my flashdrive write protected? I looked everywhere for some kind of help. I couldn't find anything.

    Other notes:
-L' error does not come from my PC. I tried to use my sister's cell phone to get in shape, and he gave me the same error message.
-My flash drive is not a write protection option. (It could, but I could not be aware of it).
-J' tried various other programs to try to format.
-There is no virus on my PC or a flash drive.
-There are about 20 GB on the flash drive, so it is not complete.

-J' already tried using the registry.

I hope someone can help me, because I really don't want not to waste my money on another flash drive that will just give me the same error.

    Thank you once again!

What follows is the best source of info that I found for USB thumbdrive problems:

USB stick seems to be write-protected:

    1.
Check if the USB has a little swich for write protection.

    2.
Windows can write protect USB drives too. Check out the registry under
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies.
The value 'WriteProtect' should be absent or set to '0'.

    3.
Flash memory has a limited lifetime of about 100000 guaranteed write cycles. Most flash life much longer cells, but the cells that become defective must be replaced by reserve cells (defective block management). The flash controller handles this in the background. When all reserve cells are consumed, then the flash controller refuses all the write access. Then you can read your data and put the unit to recycling.
This can happen even the drive was never even almost completely filled because the flash controller spread access write on all physical blocks to make sure that all cells are worn (wear levelling) equally.
Unfortunately, USB flash drives have no standard mechanism to read their current state of health, as in hard disks. Therefore, always expect a USB flash drive to die at any time...

    Hello

Write protection is a feature found on many different types of media. When the write protection is turned on, you will be able to view the information on the disc or USB key, but you won't be able to write or transfer information to it. Write protection is an element of protection which prevents accidental deletion of important data.

If you want to remove protection, try the advice given:

    Method 1:
I suggest you to follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

    a. open 'My computer'.

    b. right-click on the USB key and select'Properties'.

    c. uncheck the 'read-only' if it is enabled.

Note: Click Yes when the option appears saying 'apply changes to subfolders and files writable in this folder '.

    d. click on 'apply' and 'Ok '.

    e. try to delete the files.

Method 2: I also suggest you follow the steps to edit the registry to disable the write-protected error and check if the problem persists.

You can remove your usb pendrive write protection using the method below:
    a. open the start menu and select run. On the runline, type regedit and press efriendship. This wil open theRegistry Editor.
    b. navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
    Note:

If StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you must create it manually.
    c. in the right window, double-click the registration key and set the value to 0 in the value
Data area , and then press theOK button
    d. restart your computer and try todeletefiles from USB flash drives.
Note: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Fax and Scan Error - Message could not be sent. Media is write protected

I have a PC with Windows Vista Ultimate on it.  Turns off user access control.  On the sign as Admin will have all the rights.

Windows Fax and Scan works very well for a long time.  Had a modem comes to shove, he replaced everything works fine.

In the last day or two - with no known changes to the system - the system is no longer send and receive faxes.

It gives me an error-"message could not be sent.  the media is write protected. »

This happens if I try to send a fax directly from the Windows fax software or if I try to "print" a document by fax.

When you receive a fax - it gives a similar error.

It works as records receive faxes are unalterable and, if I look at their properties in Explorer.  I try to uncheck Read-only and it acts like it works only when I get back - read-only is still selected.

Other times I tried to make changes to access to the files by Windows Fax, fax settings - but it tells me that I have to be logged on as administrator to make these changes and I signed up as an administrator - the only Director on the PC.

I also removed the Fax profile and recreated.  I think that the question is the property read-only on my directory of fax, but for some reason that seems locked on.

I also shot the back, rebooted, turned off UAC back, rebooted and tried to change the settings of RO, no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Read-only for folders is normal (mine are).  See if this fix works for you:

When I tried to back up my files, I got an error (0 x 80070013) indicating that the media is write-protected. How can I solve this problem? Thank you for your time, Shawn

You may not have the correct permissions or own the medium on which you try to perform the backup.  Here are some instructions on how to give you the right permissions and Take Ownership (if necessary).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder/drive, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/. In this csse make sure grant you full permissions and check also advanced special permissions (including the inherited permissions) which can substitute for this entry to limit your rights by assembling as well.

To resolve this problem with folders or drive, take possession of the records or the reader (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Spectrum of HP x 360 (Lake of set): error during the update of the Bios (c2-error: the region is write-protected)

Just got the new spectrum x 360 with processor i7 to set Lake.  I love most everything on it, but it's hot in the upper left corner, and temperatures are in the order of 80-90 during a normal charge.  Research of solutions possible and a common solution seems to ensure that the Bios is updated.

HP Wizard jumped by chance in a message on a Bios updated available.  Perfect timing, so I thought.  Update downloaded BIOS ok, but during the installation, I got the error c2-error message: region is write protected.

Reflection on the update of the Bios?  I know that one of the recommendations is not not to date Bios at least that something does not work.  Everything seems to work fine, but I think I should update it Bios to see if it solves the problem of heat.  Thoughts on that?

    Thank you.

Thank you.   It's the strangest thing.  Despite having the error message above and the Bios update process pretending stops, when I rebooted hours later, the Bios updated.  I checked, and it is now the latest version.

    Guess my problem is solved.
