Sansa Clip 8 GB - Firmware Version 2.01.32 - all my files disappeared

So, today I have updated the firmware on my Sansa Clip from 2.01.16 to 2.01.32 and now, therefore, when I connect my player to the PC any of my files stored on my drive are visible. I tried to use the options to display the hidden files and system files on my PC, but it does not work. All files are always visible and readable on my player, and my shows to PC where there is 5.58 GB of used space on my drive but when I search in the records of the player using my PC, they're all empty... not so much as a single byte in sight... What is going on? Where are my files stored now? (And especially) How can I access them through my PC?

I read on a website that the deletion of the "MTABLE. SYS file' could solve this problem, but I have tried this 4 times now and the problem persists.

A big thank you to all those who can help.

Probably not a mistake but a MSC / outcome of the PSG. Go in the configuration of the element, and then select MTP. If still no files and select MSC.

If still no removal follow the instructions in the FAQS on this site.

  • Sansa Clip is not display or play WMP and Explorer Windows files are on it

I used the Clip fortunately because I first had and managed to put in place.  I keep a large stock of podcasts on it and update the element using WMP sync several times a week when the podcasts are updated.

I installed the 1.01.29 updated firmware when it came out.  (From Windows Explorer it shows as 1.01.29A for some reason any.)

Since then, many of the podcasts that I already had on the Clip, which I listened to several times, became invisible and unplayable on the Clip.  However, I can see them in Explorer Windows and WMP, for example from the view of the Albums.  (I don't know why the synchronization WMP process puts podcasts on the Clip of music, rather than podcasts, but I don't really like).

I deleted all the files, reformatted the Clip and put the files back on.  Same story.  I also tried the addition of files that don't have no/plan lounge pulling them to the Windows Explorer.  Same story.

The really strange thing is is not random which arise and which don't.  All the podcasts in German, old and new, two web sources, view and play very well.  All podcasts new and French I had do not show in the display of the item.  Front of 1.01.29 all the files from the two sources has shown / played very well (with one exception, which I will post on separately.)

Does anyone else have this?  Any ideas?  Can I send sample files which work and which don't work for Sansa support if requested.

Place podcasts in the podcast folder, or make sure that the tag ID type is set to Podcast.

  • Sansa Clip - computer does not recognize the music file

I have a Sansa Clip 8 GB. It works OK. It connects to my PC (Windows 7) and fees. But when I open the music from the PC folder there is nothing in it. There is the music of the clip and he is playing. But nothing in the folder on my PC. The clip has the firmware version: v02.01.35A. His car is up to date. Any ideas?

Try changing the drive USB MSC mode by going to settings > system settings > USB. If you still don't see the files, try MTP mode. Files transferred in a mode are invisible to your PC when it is connected to the other mode (files transferred in both modes are still visible by the player himself, that's why they play even if the PC cannot find them). The third mode, "Automatic Detection", should be avoided because it can change between the MTP and MSC between sessions without warning, according to the whims of Windows.

  • Sansa Clip + Player ignores the titles with sound of frying after the last firmware update

    Hello

My Sansa Clip + tracks audio playback stopped (same mp3 files it used to always play) after I updated to firmware 1.02.18A.

The player jumps just all tracks with sound of frying one after the other.  No longer play.

    What's wrong??

Is it possible to fix it?

Is it possible to revert to the original firmware version 1.02.15 that worked well?

    Well,.

I don't know what the problem actually was, but certainly it's associated BONE.
I'm at home in my Windows 7 and everything works perfectly now.

The problem I experienced was at work, where I have Windows XP SP3 OS.

On Windows 7 home, I copy the MP3 files in MSC mode and don't play them no problem at all.

Driver to work on Windows XP may be defective or unsuitable for copy files correctly on the drive using the MSC mode.

I do not know. At least, everything works fine now.

P.S. The funniest is that tech support lady told me that my drive is ruined and it is absolutely impossible to fix.

She also said that it is impossible to install the previous version of firmware absolutelly and that it not there no previous version of the firmware available more she also said that the only way to "solve" the problem is for me to buy a new player

    Everything just great!

    Every1 thanks for your help.

  • Sansa Clip freezes at startup and on the firmware update

After unplugging my video to my computer, it is hung on the screen "Connected".

I forced a reset by pressing the power switch it 10 seconds

He then restarted and hung on the Sansa screen

I followed the instructions given in these forums in order to download the update of the firmware, mount the Clip in MSC mode and install the firmware.  Unplug the Clip, it hangs at "Update Firmware in progress" screen.

I then re-mounted the Clip in MSC mode and deleted all the files of music and the update of the firmware.  After disconnection, he hooked again on the Sansa screen.  I then mounted in MSC mode and re-installed the update of the firmware.  He is now suspended again at the screen to update the firmware.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The following procedure restored the Clip, but requires access to a Windows operating system:

    1. Tower Mounting Clip in MSC mode off camera (now switch is in position 10 sec If necessary 'on'). Set the switch to position 'Hold '. While pressing the "Select" Center, plug it into the USB port on a Windows computer. Wait for Windows to recognize the device before you release the "Select" button

    2. format of the Clip Double click on 'My Computer' to open a window of the Explorer. You should now see the video listed as a reader. Right click on the video player icon and select "Format". Select "FAT32". Do not check the box "quick format". Format the drive.

    3. Finish you can now disconnect the Clip of the computer and it should behave as a Clip of the new out-of-the-box. If you wish, you can download Sansa Updater software from the web site of Sansa (Sansa > support > Clip > downloadsansa Firmware Updater) and run it to install the latest version of the firmware on your device.

  • I upgraded the firmware Sansa Clip & now I don't see the files I had previously in

Hi guys, this is my problem: I have a sansa clip v2, it worked fine until yesterday, when I updated the firmware with sansa updater; the upgrade went smoothly, but now my windows xp sp3 detects the drive because it was a normal penstick/external hd and I cannot see the files I already had in it: I can still listen to their - players works as usual - but, as I don't see them, I can't delete them! I tried the "hidden and system files" in folder options, but it did not help. I think that after the upgrade of the internal structure of the file has changed a bit, now it is: sound, music, audio books, podcasts, record, WMPinfo.xml, MTABLE. SYS, RES_INFO. SYS, SYS_CONF. SYS, version.sdk. I try to put a few new files in the folder "music" and it works perfectly, they appear in the player, so the problem is only with the 'old'; in fact, I would not delete them mind these files if it is not necessary, because I have them on my hard drive).

I hope someone can help me, thank you very much! (and please excuse my bad spelling & grammar, I'm Italian!  :-))

    1. pick up your player Sansa Clip - the physical drive you bought.

    2. activate.

    3. press the small 'home' button, the small button on the front of the item located at the top right of the Ferris wheel - it's the small button with the little house printed on it.

    4. press on the lower part of the wheel (at 06:00 position) until the screen shows the settings.

    5. press once on the right side of the wheel (at 03:00 position) to access settings options.

    6. press on the lower part of the wheel (at 06:00 position) until the display shows USB mode.

    7. press the right side of the wheel (at 03:00 position) once to enter USB mode options.

    8. tap up or down the Ferris wheel (at 12 and 06:00 positions) and select the USB setting menu is currently not checked (I think that this will be the PSG; ignore the setting "Auto", for the reasons I stated above), then select it by pressing the right side of the wheel (at 03:00 position).

    9. you have now set your video mode MTP USB drive.  Press the small home button twice to return to the regular game mode.

And that's all.  Now when you connect your player to Clip on your computer, your files should appear on your computer.  If they don't, repeat the above, but set the USB to the MSC mode.

    I hope this helps.

PS As I said earlier, the USB modes, the MSC mode (compared to the MTP mode) is more universal and will work on multiple computers.  If you use a video player on other computers, you can set your video player in MSC mode, to ensure that it will connect to other computers.  If this is the case and if your video player has been set to MTP mode so far, before changing the setting of mode USB mode MSC, to be able to see all files in the reader of your video on your computer, first copy the files from the drive of your music back to your computer delete them out of your video player, set the Clip Player USB Service mode weather of the Canada (see above) and then copy the files to your video player.  This ensures that you can see all the files of your video player when it is connected to your computer.

  • The Firmware Update (Sansa clip 2 GB) support

While he was trying to transfer my cell phone to my Sansa Clip audiobook, I get the following error during the file transfer:

""It is not possible to obtain the certificate of the device. " Contact the device manufacturer for a firmware update or other measures to address this problem. » » »

When I try to down load the latest Sansa firmware using the "Sansa Updater 1.2 ' version, I get the following error:"

«"" The following error has occurred: cannot download the selected files.»»» Please try again later. » » »

I currently wear farm: 1.01.11 on my Sansa Clip (2.0 GB)

Can offer you any advice on the correction of such? A firmware update will solve the problem of certificate? Any help would be appreciated...

There is a message at the top of this map with instructions for a manual update. use that to update the firmware, and then in the settings menu use the format command. Try once's done it charging books.

  • Sansa clip firmware

    Hey!

I just bought a sansa clip and let me know if the sansa clip firmware is the same as the sansa clip + a.

    Thank you!

No - See the sticky thread above it (the video) forum for the firmware you need.

  • New firmware Sansa Clip (1 GB) = no music file?

I just upgraded my Sansa Clip (1 GB) with the new Firmware, and when I plug it in, it does not my music files, how to bring them back? The music is still playing and everything, just at the moment where I Plug and click on the folder, it is not show them.

Firmware updates usually restore the unit to the default USB, Auto Vice mode. It will connect to the PSG most of the time. If the files have been transferred in MSC mode, you do not see them unless in this mode. Go to settings > system settings > USB mode and switch to the MSC. Then re - connect and see if these files now appear.

  • Sansa Clip CODEC used in original Firmware

I want to know if sansa firmware using the mp3 decoder under license from Fraunhofer IIS, such as listed in the manual booklet.

    is this true?

even with the iPod which using the same decoder...

    esgikey wrote:

for as far as I know... quality of codec have an effect for sound quality produced by the device... the codec set the mapping of the frequency for each bit of data

    >

No, this is not correct.  The choice of the decoder is not quality.  They all produce essentially the same result, without taking into account some rounding errors.  If you have a difference between the two firmwares, its probably not the codec.  Have you tried running RMAA to measure?

    esgikey wrote:

so many people who, says codec BLADE are better than Fraunhofer IIS...

Lame is typically used as an encoder, not a decoder.  It encodes more effectively files into MP3s, but that has nothing to do with actually reading a file.

    esgikey wrote:

Oh there, when sansa will update its sansa Clip + firmware? the battery indicator is not linear measure, and I hope it will be fixed soon.

My guess is that they will not update firmware Clip + still once.  But if the battery indicator is not linear that probably means that your battery is a little weird, and a software update is unlikely to fix it.

  • Fully formatted my Sansa Clip, in any case I can reinstall the firmware from scratch?

I've deleted some songs using a Mac but noted they were still playable from my sansa and when I plugged on a PC the files not found so I decided it would be a fine idea to format the thing and reinstall from scratch.

I'm having a little trouble finding how do and now starting to worry that my pure idiocy has ruined my sansa clip for me.

I was running Rockbox when this whole thing started, if that helps at all.

When plugged into a computer screen 'Bootloader USB mode' bed and when unplugged it reads "File not found", then "USB Plug cable.

    Thank you!

  • Can not record songs on a Sansa Clip +.

I recently bought the Sansa Clip + and it has firmware version V01.01.05F and the song rate feature doesn't seem to work. I choose 1-5 stars and select the choice, but the note is not saved. Another poster asked a similar question and its solution involved affecting USB MTP mode, but this has not worked for me. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

OK I thought about it, the new firmware fixed this problem for me.

  • Sansa clip + does not see the audio books I have loaded

I got my Sansa Clip MP3 player + for two years and it works very well, so far.  I only use it for audio books.  Recently, I reformatted the player and loaded new books in.  When I went to read, the audio books folder was empty.  I have connected the player to the computer again, and the books were in the audio books folder, where I had loaded.

I've updated the firmware to the V01.02.16A Version, and there was no change.  I tried to reset by pressing the start button. No change.

Memory has 3750 MB with 3135 free, indicating that there are books in memory, but the player does not see the.  What is going on?

That's all!  I checked the format of audio files.  It is the AAFC, with suffix .m4a.

    The Sansa manual says:

"The Sansa® MP3 Player will support MP3, WAV, WMA, secure WMA, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and audiobook formats.  I guess that AAC is not one of the formats that they support.  So I have to convert .m4a to .mp3.  I guess there are a lot of tools to do it.  Any suggestions about which one is the best?

Thanks a lot for this revelation.
