  If this does not work, or I don't attempt it, I could just run the operating system of the drive and hope that my save files and whatnot are intact.

  After two weeks, I was able to solve the mystery of myself.

  I downloaded the "Microsoft Memory Diagnostic" test and he said one of my RAM sticks has no tests.  I removed a particular, and everything started working again properly.

  I won't even look at a site that does this - but you can try a different browser to start.

  For example, if you use Internet Explorer, then download and install Firefox and try that.  As you experience these severe problems with the site, I might suggest that, after installing Firefox itself, you first the security of Firefox addon 'No-Script"to protect you.  Then, when you arrive at the site, you click on the No-Script Options and you can allow 'Temporarily' Web site scripting access on your computer.  If there are several sites listed in the No-Script option, then 'Allow temporarily' a Web site at a time.  See what's happening.
