As an option.  Most of the people here would agree - you should avoid all non - Microsoft drivers for hardware devices available from automatic updates from Microsoft, or Microsoft/Windows Update web site.

  I found the solution to my problem!  To get any MP3 player to work as a device MTP of Windows XP, you MUST install Windows Media Player 10 before the update for Windows Media Player 11.  If you do not, MTP Protocol will not install and the MTP Protocol is not available as a separate download.

  I managed to get a player with the correct firmware update and now the FM radio works fine.  However the player SE which was originally the FM radio is not recognized by my computer.  Turn on the player, only one answer is the construction of data base until it stops.  No luck by applying one of the suggestions in this forum.  Think it must be returned or hammered unrecognizable. :-(

• MicroSD - "Drive is not formatted" after taking on sansa express

  Here's my problem.

  I have a kingston 1gig microSD card.

  I use a card reader and add songs to the card.

  I insert the card into the sansa express. Sansa reads the card very well, the songs are there.

  But when I remove the microSD card and plug my card to the reader to add more songs it says that "the drive is not formatted" and I need to format it in until I can use it!

  I found the problem.

  It was the * beep * kingston brand.

  Looks like sansa dislikes the kingstons.

  I bought a transcend 4 GB sdhc micro, and the problem disappeared.

  In fact, when I insert the chip in the sansa and plug the sansa I also get a drive for the micro sd card (it didn't happen with the kingston), in other words this thing doubles as a sdhc reader.

  But I had to format the chip with my other player sdhc first.
