• Pro L10: After using a wireless mouse, the touch pad has stopped working

  Pro L10. After using a wireless mouse, the built in touch pad has stopped working properly. At the start of the keypad icon touch shows and the touchpad works intermittently, after a few minuets, the icon disappears and the touch pad stops working. In the control panel / mouse & or device drive I can how the program works, then disappears.

  It seems that the wireless mouse or mouse wireless drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
  I put t have a good solution for this problem. Well, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for latest driver updates. If the updates doesn't solve this problem I suggest to use either the mouse wireless and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key combination or use a regular USB mouse.
  I guess that you are having regular problems with a USB mouse.

  I am using the inprocomm WLan on a new satellite Pro L10 running XP Pro with Windows zero configuration disabled.

  I have 2 routers netgear acting as access points, with several other wireless devices work well.

  I found a few problems:
  local network utility does not define the WEP key at startup (and does not work with reliability of boot).
  You cannot run the utility except if connected as an admin user.
  profile settings not retained "broad machine", only by the user.
  the support inprocomm website does not appear to exist (www.inprocomm.com.tw).

  most are small problems, but the lack of reliable startup is a major problem. I had an another toshiba I got before reliable machines, but this feels like the beta test software.

  the drivers are up-to-date (even if it is not updated on the web site of toshiba, and pilots were dated 2004)

  Anyone got directions on how to do it?

  I spent a day of evil and cannot do this work anyway for a non admin user, and must always start manually for work at all.

• Sat Pro L10 DVD Super Multi Drive

  I have a new Satellite Pro L10 with DVD Super Multi player running XP Pro. I was not able to write on the DVD player - either it does not recognize the DVD in the drive or it blue screens and crashes when I use the Windows backup installation until I read the error message. Now I get very nervous, I could not support the 6 weeks I got it...
  I can play the pre-recorded (of movies) DVD in the drive and it can read CDs and some brands of DVD. The manual is singularly useless on the use/troubleshooting of the Super Multi drive

  I don't think you can use the Windows backup to record directly to CD or DVD. The following is an excerpt from the Microsoft web site: -.

  • .......... Unfortunately, the Windows backup utility cannot save files directly to a CD - RW disc.

  Have you tried the software to burn DVDs. I think that you should have Sonic RecordNow and Windvd.

• Sat Pro L10: Cannot install printer

  I have a portable Satellite Pro L10 and have had problems to install an HP photosmart 7350 printer.
  After installation if I try to print, the computer indicates a failure to print warning. This printer works very well on my main computer that is running windows 98. So I tried a brand new HP PSC 1610 with the same result.

  But when I tried a friends HP Jet 5500 desktop it works very well. I tried to reinstall the operating system using the restore disc that came with the laptop for each printer has been tried with a new installation every time. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it?

  AFAIK the L10 has already integrated antennas. You can use the minis with Wi - Fi 802 standard PCI cards. 11 b / g.

  I have a few problems at the moment...

  First of all, some time ago, the volume level display (a green light that came on the screen) disappeared. I got said that his was due to an update that had to be done, but who for some reason any got rid of the screen. Short take off all updates, is it possible to get this back?

  When I attach my Satellite Pro to an external CRT, LCD monitor or projector, I get the same problem each end every time.

  the Fn + F key to toggle the display of control does not work.

  When I start the laptop with the attached external display device, everything is fine, and the display is exclusively channeled in the external display. but as soon as windows has started, the display switches to the screen of the laptop, and there is no way to make it back.

  Seems to be a simple software problem.
  I put t know how long you OS runs on the laptop, but maybe some files registry entries are corrupted and therefore the FN key does not work as it should.

  Could help to reinstallation of the OS and the use of the recovery CD

• Sat Pro 6000 - 2 GB SD card is not readable

• Satellite Pro L10 will not start

  Hi guys,.

  I have a Sat Pro L10 and I have a few problems with it. When I load up, I can enter the BIOS and everything seems fine, however, the date and time does not. I can't ge start beyond that point, it crashes just with a cursor flashing at the top left. The same goes for when I try and boot from CD. When I go out and put the battery back, I get a message saying WARNING CMOS Checksum failed - using the old configuration, F1 to resume or F2 to enter setup. I press F1 and the same again, just a flashing crusor.

  If anyone can help me diagnose this problem and fix it, it would be much more appreciated.
