SATA Drive is recognized by the BIOS but not Disk Manager

Hello

I'm having a little trouble with a PC, my father gave me. He was still under Windows XP, I formatted his 5 ready for my use SATA drives, then I installed Windows 7. When I finished installing the BIOS recognized the correct readers, I created a JBOD Volume, but Disk Manager does not recognize. I tried different tables without tables, restart, reinstall Windows 7, formatting the disks to the format of the ODM using my laptop and try to find an updated driver (impossible even to find any drivers online).

Please could someone give me some help?

I use 5 Hitachi SATA disks

Here is my system info:

Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that the SATA drive is not recognized in disk management.

I suggest you to refer to the suggestions by Anil Kumar B responded on 7 September 2013 and check if that helps.

    Hi enormouse affect,

    1. you did it any software / hardware on the computer before this problem past?

    2. What is the number of brand and model of the computer?

There are several possible reasons that the hard drive is not recognized.

    ·         Missing Chipset drivers

    ·         Hardware failure

    ·         It is an IDE drive, and it is in the wrong state (master / slave)

    ·         It is disabled in the bios

Determine if the hard drives Sata or IDE. Go into the bios and see if the disks are disabled by accident. If you have verified all of this, and the drive is still not recognized, download the latest drivers from the website of the manufacturer of your motherboard chipset. Try to change the mode from AHCI to IDE in the bios.

  • Satellite Pro A200 - HDD recognised by the BIOS but not in the startup list

    Hello

After some problems with the virus of my laptop is not able to start more. How reset BIOS ignores the boot from the HARD drive and try to start either from CD or network. The HARD drive is recognized by the BIOS (it appears as 1 hard drive in the home page). In the selection screen startup list preferences appear only floppy drive, CD/DVD and network.

The hard drive can be mounted and browsed without any problem of windows or Linux. I tried to install both systems and the installation always succeeds but when rebooting the system is not able to boot from the hard drive.

I guess it's a BIOS problem, but I'm not sure about this. What do you think?

By the way how do I update the BIOS without having neither windows nor floppy drive?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi mate,

I m a bit confused now as a first step, you wrote that the computer can boot from the HARD drive, but then you t wrote you browse the HDD with Windows and Linux

I'm not sure this is the problem of this but I recommend to load the default settings in the BIOS.

If your HARD drive doesn t work could be defective (bad sectors or something else). You could test with special diagnostics as Drive Fitness Test Tools. It s a freeware tool so you can find it using Google.

By the way: have you tried to install Windows with the Toshiba Recovery disk?

    Hi all

I'm trying to get Android studio works on my 360. Everything is fine until you try to run virtual device/emulator.

This does not work because the Virtual Machine is required. When I looked in the BIOS I was surprised to see this small handbook has the functionality that has been disabled.

I now activated but still not detected by the software. Can anyone help with this?

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Playbook recognized by the PC, but not DM

I have the latest OS 2.0.1.358 on my PlayBook.

PC laptop Toshiba Tecra M5 under XP Pro SP3

    DM, v 6.1.0.20

PlayBook is recognized by the PC, mapped as don't drive Z: no problem.

However, DM does not recognize it, so I have no way to save?

Other forms of connection to the PC are fine - Wi - Fi, run file://192.168.0.124, Print To Go...

I contacted BB support several times and tried everything what they suggest, without success.

I searched the forums and have not seen anything extra to try.

Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you!

Even if said DM 6.1.0.20 was common, installation 6.1.0.36 DM fixed the problem - don't know if it was the difference of DM or just reinstall that solved the problem.

T1) it has not been long I've owned my new liquid E700 of Acer (/ E39; what's the diff?). It's an android 4.4.2 Kitkat and I unlocked the developer options. Recently, I searched suites fo PC for Android and believe it or not, I found a good number of free software on the net. In any case, all the software I found aske me to turn on USB debugging I did. When I connect my E700 liquid Acer without debugging, I get an icon in the section pilots in "My computer" (Windows 7) and when I turn debgging, I get another. This means that my laptop makes a difference between enabled and disabled USB debugging. However, none of the software that I downloaded acknowledged that debug mode is on. If it's a software only once, I would say that this PC Suite sucks, but all? There is a problem. Has anyone come across this and it fixed please?

  • The new HD does not appear in the bios or in disk management?

Upgrading to a new computer with win7.  I want to add my old HD as a second HD for the computer.  I installed and connected to the power source and the SATA cable.  The HD may not appear anywhere on the computer.  It is not in disk management or in the bios? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Sometimes, a 'new' disk is not picked up by Windows. EaseUS Partition Master is a program that I found a workaround, download here: http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Master-Free-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html?tag=mncol;1 .

Once installed, it should recognize your drive and allow you to repartition / reformat to use with Windows 7.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with the hard drive in the bios but not appear in the windows vista installation.

Given that the problem is related to the BIOS and a hardware malfunction as possible, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the computer for further assistance regarding this issue.

  • Hard drive is not recognized in the BIOS - Equium A60

Hi hope someone can help. I have a Toshiba Equium EA60-173 and the hard drive is not recognized in the BIOS. When I remove the hard drive and put it in another laptop it is detected fine. I also tried another hard drive in the Toshiba and that does not work either. So I suspect the IDE controller has disappeared, but can I do to confirm this? I wish there was an option in the BIOS to force detection. I updated the BIOS but still the same.

This laptop is only just out of warranty, so if it is the controller would I need to replace the motherboard? Are there other options at my disposal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Neil,

Unless there is some physical\problem with the cable/connector hard drive, then it is most likely that you will have a new mainboard for your laptop. I suggest you to contact an authorized service partner and ask them to check your laptop and give you an estimate of the cost of the repair. Then you can try to shop for less expensive alternatives.

  • new drive HARD Seagate Barracuda not recognized in the BIOS

    Hello

The Inspiron 530 desktop computer BIOS does not recognize my new HARD drive. It's a Seagate Barracuda 500 GB (ST3500413AS). I try to reinstall Vista, but installation can't find a drive with 3.9 GB. Wrong type of drive in the BIOS found, I think that.

Tried several things, but no results: check the BIOS, but with automatic selection drive only to find a 4 GB (wrong type), updated the BIOS drive (now 1.0.18), tried several drivers with startup etc.

Think I need a good driver, but on the site Web of Seagate, they say that there is no firmware for this drive.

    can someone help me?

    THX, David

    Thanks for all the support.

It wasn't a problem with the SATA 3 or something like that, but the HARD drive was missing. There is no other choice. Come back with my HARD drive (and information) to the store and finally got a new. I hope that the other works :)

  • A SSD from OCZ Agility 3 disc works with a dv9700T? Mine is not recognized by the BIOS.

I bought a 120 GB OCZ SSD Agility 3 disc to install in my laptop the dv9700T CTO.  The drive is not recognized by the BIOS when it is installed in the Bay of 1 or 2, but is recognized when connected via USB as a secondary drive.  The drive works fine in a different computer, so I know the drive works.  There seems to be a problem with the SATA (ICH8) controller.

Someone at - it any information on that?  Would love to get the drive works in my laptop.

    Thank you.

    Lloyd

If you have a HARD drive installed in the secondary Bay and the OCZ SSD in the first Bay, the dv9700t starts and works very well.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 - new SSD is not recognized in the BIOS settings

    Hello

    I just bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 2-8 and I also bought Samsung SSD 850 evo 250 GB.
When I try to install the SSD drive rather my drive HARD, the BIOS show 'none' in the category of SSD/HDD (BIOS not recognize the SSD).

    Please help me.
    My bios version is: 2.00
someone told me that I have to downgrade my version of BIOS to 1.2V and then the BIOS recognize the SSD drive, so perhaps someone here can send me a download link for version 1.2 of my model L50 - B - 2-8.
    Thank you

someone told me that I have to downgrade my version of BIOS to 1.2V

And who? I mean you are sure that this person was right?
From my point of view of the few there is no reason why beginning version BIOS should recognize the SSD and the latest version of the BIOS is not...

But BIOS v1.2 for series Satellite L50 - B - 2 8 PSKTQE there is no v2.0 (at this time) is the latest version and previous versions of BIOS are not available for this series.

Also, I guess you must slimply check different SSD drive... it might be possible that the other SSD drive would be recognized correctly.

By the way: I am owner of Evo 850 SSD drive and as I remember, I had to update the firmware of the SSD drive to use it correctly in my other laptop (not the Toshiba device)

    > I have an A60 which began to shut down and not start.
I tried to use the restore CD that has reinstalled the operating system, but the laptop still not managed to start after that.
For me, it looks more like an overheating problem caused by the internal temperature.
It is a typical problem if the cooling fans are clogged and that air can circulate properly.

    > I thought the HD failed and bought a toshiba 40gig drive replacement. I have installed the new drive but and been in the BIOS (F2 and F1), but the BIOS indicates there is no HD installed.
One of my friends has updated the own Satellite with the new HARD drive and the HARD drive was not recognized by the BIOS due to the assignment of the PIN wrong and riders Check this!
