This problem is not that hard to fix, but I'm looking for the driver but I can't find it. And don't tell me to go to the page for downloading drivers for my L40 - 17U because I was there and you get not only the driver that I am looking for it.
Each driver else I get the it. So help me through the Please this problem. I formatted my laptop which has vista home basic on because I want to install XP Pro.
Now the thing is my laptop says "drive not found" I know how to solve the problem. Here's the method (you need a CD in Windows XP Sata driver for your laptop to XP, the program nlite and a clean CD):
Take a CD of Windows XP and the program nlite to integrate driver sata + XP files from the original XP CD on the own CD.
The process is not that difficult, but you have all the software and drivers for your laptop for Windows XP. The driver, I'm fighting for is the sata driver. Can someone help me know where to find the sata for my L40-17U dirver - please?

Here are the specifications of my laptop of neede to get the driver for xp sata:

I put t think you know what you're talking about.
I've visited the European driver of Toshiba page and yes I checked the L40 PSL48E and YES download area I found the SATA driver!

Intel Storage Manager contains the necessary SATA driver!

As you suggest, you can create a new Win XP CD and could include the SATA driver to this page using the nLite.
It of not complicated and gentle

I have a new L40 - 17U equipped Intel 965 Chipset & Vista Home Premium. I'm not interested in games but I can't get the 'Accelerator' to work. If I download & install official drivers, the system still refuses to work properly. Fault code 12. What I'm doing.

    Hello

    > I can't get the 'Accelerator' to work
May I ask what you mean with Accelerator?

Normally if you take drivers on the Toshiba page everything should work properly. I can t imagine that this driver doesn't work correctly.

So as he has already written to try to reset the BIOS to default settings.
In the worst case, you must reinstall the laptop using Toshiba recovery disc.

  • Host of Fedora 12, comments from WinXP, SATA drive

I had a system to dual-boot with Fedora 11 as host, Workstation 6.5, Windows XP as a guest on a laptop with a SATA drive.  I got it by forcing them hard and .vmx files to display the disk on IDE instead of SCSI controller.

I've recently updated to Workstation 7 and Fedora 12 and I repartitioned a part of the disk (a disk D: on Windows, not the Windows system partition).  Rather than trying to update the table to partition in the hard file, I've recreated the machine and again changed IDE controller.  Now, I can't the computer prompted to start.  I have a boot with GRUB disk image that I start, but once grub hands off to the Windows boot loader, the system hangs.  (If I use the SCSI Workstation controller configure, I get a screen bluenot surprising, seeing as I have not the controller SCSI in Windows, but I also get nasty warnings that does not start Windows, both on bare metal and as a guest).  The system boots properly on the bare metal.

So is it a reliable set of instructions somewhere to implement this arrangement so that I can start both ways?

    TIA.

OK - if it worked before then lets leave it alone

I now recreate the rawdisk-descriptor and use the type "partitionedDevice" and then boot from the image of disk you downloaded - the first boot option should then start XP

    Hello

So, my laptop is Satellite L40 - 17U currently running bios 1.80 and try to update
    to 5.50.

In windows 7, I'm trying to update the BIOS with the supplied *.bat file
toshiba Web site, I get an error:

    Failure of WinIo initialization (WinIo.sys)

    What could cause this error?

I also have an odd configuration of the OSes. It is installed Grub, which place in Ubuntu
or load the windows Boot Manager go where I can choose either Windows 7 (64-bit) or
    XP (32 bit).

In addition, there are 4 partitions:
    C for windows 7
    D XP
E - just for storing files
    and one for Ubuntu.

Do you know how can I solve this problem and update my BIOS?
Or can you offer other methods such as loading from a flash drive and do it regardless
    the operating system?

Have you tried to start it under WXP_

By the way: what is the reason for the update of the BIOS? You have a problem with your laptop?

  • D20 + SATA ONLY + WINXP SP3 32 BIT

    Hi all

Testing a D20 for the company and can not get the D20 to run as a SATA drive only. Currently, its spinning the Marvell controller with a 500 GB drive in.

Have tried to get into the BIOS and disable the RAID controller but then I can't use the HD as just a SATA drive.

The only joy I had is to plug in a diskette with 32-bit controller Marvell drivers starting with Windows XP 32-bit, as he travels through install press F6 to install the drivers for the controller, and then once I hit continues to back installation/format disks, I get a blue screen of death. The strange thing is that if I use our WinXP SP3 32 bit copy of Microsoft license which it MUST be installed with I get the BSOD, but if I through in a Dell WinXP SP3 32 bit OS disk I can install the operating system without problem at all!

All I want to do is really disable the single use of SATA drive only (somehow) RAID controller and install WinXP SP3 32-bit using our copy of Microsoft Licensing with this blue screening!

    Any help would be fantastic!

    See you soon,.

  • HP Pavilion DV7-1212TX laptop Downgrade Vista to Windows XP? SATA driver

    Hello

I want to downgrade this machine because some programs does not work under Vista and it will cost you $$$ to upgrade.

The problem seems to be that I can't find the right SATA driver to use.

When I use a WinXP disk, it gives me a blue screen of death.

I downloaded an update Intel driver pack, integrated in the WinXP installation CD and still have the same screen of death.

I tried to load Windows XP on a CD (the whole OS on a bootable CD)... and crashed too.

I think that the drivers I have are too old... but until I know the exact chipset I probably won't understand what I need to install.

It seems to be no comprehensive manual of the computer, so there seems to be no list of chipsets.

I had a bit of info from the Vista system... Device Manager but not a full number of chipset.

Is that what someone has successfully installed WinXP on one of them?

    Can anyone make some suggestions?

Is there an easier way to get around this?

    :-)

    Hello

First make Vista beckup. Information how to do it here.

Now you need to integrate your drivers Sata (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.

Here is the guide to how do and here are the drivers Sata for you and here are the Sata drivers from your.  Just unRAR it drivers with winrar.

Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack

and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.

In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.

  • Migrating to SATA drive to iMac

Four days ago my MacPro (2010) died. I have four 3 "SATA drives from 1 to 2 to each of Mac Pro. The computer was for business and personal use. Absolutely everything (including financial information) I have is on these four discs, including redundant copies of some files, but also my Time Machine backup.

I will have an envelope coming tomorrow which is a RAID box but will be executed in the independent drive with four drives Mode. My 'new' computer is an iMac (2013), that was given to me.  The iMac and the main SATA drive running the same version of the operating system. I need to resolve this issue quickly so I can return to work. In the immediate future, I intend to operate out of the primary SATA drive to catch up, and then transfer when I'll have a good time to transfer.

My question is the best way to get the entire contents of the primary SATA drive on the iMac's hard drive. I want everything that is on the main SATA drive to put to be on the iMac (including the prefs and hidden folders) of Mac Pro and it would be the same when I booted the Mac Pro.

Can I use migration utility, clone the drive SATA main to the iMac or even use the Time Machine backup?

If I clone the drive, I know that I would have to boot from one disk other than the iMac drive to clone to the iMac. When the primary SATA drive is attached, I need to boot from it by holding down the option key at startup key to select the startup disk.

If I use the Migration utility, it seems I start the iMac, and then run the utility to the iMac of the SATA drive range, which would be connected to the iMac. This would replace all the information on the iMac even though it was the boot drive?

I printed the information on the Migration of Apple Mac help when transferring to another storage device, but it's not quite clear to me.

    Finished migration

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

    I have laptop Satego X 200 - 21U with installed Windows Vista.
Where can I find the driver for SATA drive so I could install Windows XP?
HARD drive is Hitachi hts 541616j9sa00.

    Hello

The SATA driver is part of the Intel Storage Manager.
You can download the Storage Manager Intel since the European driver Toshiba page.

The package contains the F6hlpy folder that contains the files needed for the SATA.

These files must be included for the Windows XP CD using free software called nLite.

Google for nLite to get and find more details.

  • How do I not what SATA driver do I need for the Satellite L300 - 03C

How do I not what SATA driver do I need for the Satellite L300 - 03C so I can make nlite

    Hello

    Your laptop seems to be a Satellite L300 - 03C PSLB8C-03C01X.
As already indicated on your first visit to thread the Toshiba Canada page and choose this model of laptop on the driver page.
    http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_bymodel.asp

Then download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - image of floppy drive. It of for Vista, but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
Include these files using nLite to create the new disk Win XP that contains SATA drivers.

Finally use this disk to start.

  • HP envy 750: attempt to add to new PC SATA drive

You want new 750-150xt to which I want to add my old Pavilion 6380 640 GB SATA drive.  6380 road was only the disk and the disk to boot under Windows 7 64-bit.  Envy has a 256GB SSD as boot drive and a data HD 1 TB drive.

Pulled out of 6380 and added to the Bay, third player hooked up a new "SATA3" on MB black SATA cable and power cable to the drive then gave.  Noticed in passing that my SATA cable did not have a ground wire wrapped with her which was attached to the chassis of the new PC.

By turning on the PC, it would not go beyond the HP splash screen.   Disconnected former player and removed, and the envy of 150 started very well except the logon screen "grated" for 1-2 seconds, then stabilized.  Seems to work normally.

FYI - SATA3 socket on MB was a red taken versus black and only available SATA labeled sockets.  Others were all occupied.

    Any thoughts?

So what is the connected CD drive? Must be the SATA 2. If she jumps from the 1 SATA to SATA 3 something should be available here. The question is not only the availability of a place to connect, it is that the software has progressed where you were with this player and Windows 8/10 uses a completely different approach to find and boot from hard drives.

  • There is an option in the bios to set the sata drive * IDE *-mode?

There is an option in the bios to set the sata drive * IDE *-mode?

    Grobi

    Hi dude

    That s a funny question.
No, there is no option in the BIOS!

Please understand that there are various interfaces to drive HARD. IDE and SATA.

There is a big difference between the two interfaces and the function of the HARD disk on the motherboard controller, you could use a HDD IDE or SATA HDD.

But you cannot connect a SATA HDD to IDE or IDE HDD controller for the SATA controller. This is not possible due to different hardware.
This is not possible and that's why these BIOS settings are not available or don t exist!
