Satellite 1110-Z15 starting problems...

I have a Satellite 1110-Z15. Got some problems that occur when starting up. What happens is - go on, seems to work very well, the XP loading screen comes up, but just before it gets to the part where it asks you to log in it restarts and the whole process begins again and again and again...

Any ideas? Not really want to lose all my data :(

Kris

Hello

have you checked the Mode function without failure of Windows XP Home edition?

During booting press the F8 key (between the Toshiba Logo and the WinXP splash screen) then you can choose Safe Mode.

Starts with the parameters of Safe Mode WinXp default driver you could to see if a pilot or a registry is damaged.

    Hi nichollsr,

in our society, we have 2 Satellite 1110-Z15, and there is a delicate hint for recovery.

Toshiba has made a small mistake and printed the wrong order on the CD. You only need to change the order of the Recovery CD. No.. 1 is no. 2 and vice versa.

Insert the diskette n ° 2, hold down the 'C' key and the recovery is expected to begin. If your laptop does not identify external drive-Freecom CD try to hold the 'U' key to boot from USB.

  • Satellite 1110-Z15: this DVD-/ + RW discs are compatible

I had problems with the CD/DVD combo drive in my 3 yr old Satellite 1110-Z15 laptop and I'm looking to upgrade to a DVD burner instead of simply replacing it as for.

Can someone tell me what DVD-/ + RW discs are compatible with this model?

    Thank you.

    Hello

You will be very happy if someone can give you that info. In any case, for the hardware update is responsible for service Toshiba partners. If anyone knows what compatible player is, as service partners.

Another solution is to use the external drive. It allows you to use the most recent one that burns all formats available on the market. The problem is that your camera has USB 1.0 only and no firewire port.

  • BSOD w / Satellite 1110 due to problem of DirectX graphics

    Hello

I get repeated blue screens of death on my Satellite 1110 - Z15 w / Windows XP pro SP2 + all patches current + DirectX 9 .0c, when I play NFS Underground. The blue screen refers to ati3d1ag.dll, which is the DirectX driver, I guess. Unfortunately, via the Toshiba site there is only one very old (2 years?) accessible video driver, is anyone of you know of any chance to update the video driver or any other solution?

    THX!

    Hello

Someone on this forum had also the problem with playing the games on his laptop. NFS is very complex game and graphics card performance. Unfortunately, the generation of graphics card in your Machine is not powerful enough. Sorry, but I think there is no way to update your graphic card.

What you can do, is to change some parameters of the game (low resolution, no details or something like that).

I'm interesting on DirectX installed. You did some tests, such as DirectDraw or Direct3D display? Is there a problem?

    Hello sorbet

I found the information that your laptop can handle with 512 MB max. I guess that your device already has 256 MB. You can use the second 256 MB module and put it in a second slot.

Part number for the module memory of 256 MB is PA3127U - 1. 25 M.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro M10, only 2 years old, but has big problems at the start line.

Now, I talked to a few people and they all say I need a new drive hard etc., but I don't see how replace you it as it looks like it is built in instead of something that can be drawn.

Also I don't have a system disk, and the guy who provided it has decided not to return my emails?

    Can anyone help please?

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

It is possible that this notebook you trying to boot from the CD rather than the hard drive. Check in your BIOS settings to make sure that the boot order is correctly specified as HD first. I would not recopmmend change the hard disk at this stage, since it would mean having to restore your system from a recent backup (if you have a) or re-installing the CD recovery.

  • Toshiba Satellite pro sp6000 starting problems

    Hello

I had problems with my sp6000 - it refuses to turn on most of the time. 1 in every 100 tries it could turn as nothing ever was. Normally if the green light turns to less than second, then disappears.

I feel it maybe to do with the cdr/dvd combo player - as he reacts differently when it is deleted, tho I don't have another disc at hand to test this theoretical plan.

    Thanks for any help,

    Hi Toby

If you think that the optical drive is the problem of your machine, try simply plug and try to start without him. That is supposed to work perfectly.

    Good luck

  • Satellite P750-114 - starting problems

I have a Toshiba P750-114 laptop which does not initialize battery at all and will only boot from AC if it was first disconnected and I ve pressed the button for a few seconds to clear the residual charge.

If I try to restart of sleep/hibernate, or even stop but left the supply cable from when it was already running, I get only the power LED and the fan is running, screen stays black.
If I remove the power, press the power button, power adapter supported then press the power button, it will start and run again without any problem until its judgment.

I tried to turn it on with a different tested battery and power, but it apears to not make any difference.

I ve read that no display/fan & power work was a sign of failure of the motherboard so I had checked it by a laptop repair shop / local PC (as the laptop is not under warranty) who found the Ribbon of touch panel was apparently causing a spark and that has been fixed, but they didn t find something else and that fix hasn t has really changed anything in what concerns start the laptop.

The laptop is running Windows 7 family and has very few programs installed, but all software is geniune.

I would really like to know what causes the problem because even though I can start it every time very well following the off unplug power on in-feed-ins on routine, I want to know if I'm just prolong the inevitable collapse or is it ok/fixable?

Thank you all for any help you can give.

    > I'd really like to know what causes the problem because even though I can start it every time very well following the off unplug power on in-feed-ins on routine, I want to know if I'm just prolong the inevitable collapse or is it ok/fixable?

I think if the guys at repair shop could not say exactly what is causing this problem, I doubt someone here in the forum would be able to provide a notice of right to 100% on this issue.

It is not battery or AC adapter problem.
Another part seems to be affected. There is not a lot of parts that could cause issues such as: RAM or motherboard are for most of the parts that might cause strange problems for laptop.

P750 isn't very old series, so guarantee seems to be valid
I recommend you call a Toshiba authorized service center and explain exactly the problem. Maybe they could reproduce this

  • Satellite 1110-Z15: Question on a second drive HARD and WLan

I have just accquired this notebook, is possible to install a second hard drive for backup purposes? and there at - it wireless card available, can I install it to the Internet etc.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK there is no expansion to second HARD drive slot. In this case, you cannot install a second HDD but you can create a partition on your first HARD drive.
You can use the second partition for a backup image or other important files.

II have also verified the information on the existing wireless and the wireless card is not available on this device. In this case, you can use a wireless USB key or a PCMCIA wireless card.

    Hello Tim

I put t know exactly how you need to do, but as far as I know, you must remove the cover. There are 9 screws on the lower side, and after removing a keyboard there are 6 screws that must be removed. Before removing the top cover of the TouchPad must be disconnected.

Remove the disc on this procedure is very complicated unit and if you don t have much experience it will be best to contact some technician or a service partner to do this for you. The architecture of the laptop is very complicated and sensitive, and some hardware components can be damaged. Please be careful if do you it alone.

  • Recovery disk will not start on Satellite 1110

I try to use the recovery on a Satellite 1110 CD. I want to just install fresh Windows. The necessary files are supposed to be on the Toshiba recovery CD that accompanies it.

So I did what the brochure says, and booted up the laptop to the top with the correct CD in the drive, while pressing 'C '. The notebook ignored the CD ROM and loaded Windows as usual. I repeated three times, each time that the CD ROM whirs a bit but will not start and Windows loads as usual. I have replaced 'C' for F12, chose the CD ROM drive in the list and repeat the process several times. Yet once it wouldn't boot from the CD-ROM.

I looked at the content of the CD ROM A single MB 447. File of the GHS. The file icon is that generic type "Windows does not know what program this icon is intended to" deals.

Google believes it is a ghost file and must the ghost installed to run it. This bitch never came with Ghost.

Anyone here knows a remedy to this problem?

(NB - I tried clean Windows system restore option, but it just brings back me to September this year. Theres no option that was more early in life for portable computers)

I am in the United Kingdom, and is a UK machine if that makes a difference.

    Hello Micha

Is this your ODD works properly with the operating system?

I put really know what exactly is happening here, but please make sure that you start with recovery CD number 1/2 2/2. The installation of recovery, you can just start with the first recovery CD. Also try please set CD-ROM as firs boot device in the BIOS.
