    Hello

My satellite 1130-Z24 died, with a main board failure. I replaced the Board with one, I got from E - Bay, which is not the same exact model, but I don't know which. The keyboard works except the arrows and the touchpad do not work, even if its detected in the Device Manager and XP installed OK, with Service Pack 2. Everything works well, the system uses the Windows generic drivers for display, but it works OK. I can find the model and the SN of the motherboard with BIOS agent, can someone help me find the model of the system, so I can download the correct drivers?

  • Satellite 1130-Z25 - lack of recovery disk

    Hi all

my laptop Satellite must have Windows XP Home Edition repaired/reinstalled and miss me the recovery disc.
A friend used his recovery disk to reinstall Windows XP but it does not accept my license key.

Can anyone suggest what should I do then?

    Hello

Generally, the serial key that could be found at the bottom of the device does not work with other Windows operating systems.
The key belongs to the operating system which is part of the image of Toshiba

If you need a recovery CD to try to contact the ASP in your country to get a new compatible CD for you satellite 1130-Z25.

But note; As far as I know if the laptop series is too old then you will not be able to order this CD because of some restrictions.
In this case, you can buy an original OS of Microsoft Windows to install it on the laptop.

You can then use the page of the European driver Toshiba Toshiba drivers

  • Satellite 1130-Z31: impossible to get 1600 x 900 on the second monitor

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1130-Z31 (an old, but everything works well).

Now, I have attached a second monitor with a native resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels.

I put the second screen resolution to 1600 x 900, it is accepted.

However, the image on the second monitor is ugly, and the external monitorĀ“s what OSD says it gets 1440 x 900 pixel laptop computer signals.

It seems that Toshiba sends an image with a lower resolution on the whole.

I installed the latest graphic driver - no change.

Or would it be a problem with a bad quality VGA cable or almost?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    Turtle

    Hello

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the info which resolutions are supported for external screens, but if you can't get 1600 x 900 pixels which means that this resolution is not supported by the graphics card.

What video port are you using? VGA 15 pins port maybe?

  • Satellite 1130-z24: upgrade hard drive question

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite 1130 - z24, which requires a new hard drive, the old man is a MK2108GAP of 20 GB but I want to set up a larger capacity drive. What is the record of the maximum size that I can use without any problems of compatibility?

One of the following players would work?

    MK6034GAX 60 GB
    MK8026GAX 80 GB
    100 GB MK1032GAX

I searched on various forums and websites, but the only information I can find is that the BIOS will not support the discs above a certain size, but I don't know how it is.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

I think that good old classic supports IDE controller.

The IDE controller manages max 128 GB HDD due to support of the 28-bit LBA.

So in your case, I would recommend choosing a HARD disk that is not longer than 120GB
so, theoretically the 100 GB MK1032GAX should be compatible

  • East - Satellite 1130 has a wireless capability

    Hello

I have a 1130 Satellite which seems to have wireless capability, but I don't know if he has an installed card.
Can someone tell me how to say and offer advice on the type of acquisition card if he doesn't?

I have a switch wireless on the left side, but go off to makes no difference, also have an icon wireless Fn (F8), which again seems to make no difference.
I downloaded the user guide that shows the underside with a compartment for a socket wireless lan - what am I looking for here?

Be nice to me and speak slowly!

    Thank you
    Mick

    Hello

The WLan on the Satellite 1130 is optional.
Some of the Satellite 1130 units were equipped with the internal LAN card minPCI and a few laptops were not equipped with a WLan card.

If you want to know if your computer supports one then go to Device Manager and check the area to network adapters.
Should there have listed a LAN and WLan card card (if available).

  • Satellite 1130: It cannot bring hibernation

Satellite 1130 is suddenly in hibernation, and I can't reset it.
I have been using Windows power options in the Control Panel, but this moment was told to use the Toshiba power management.
I did, but it has not changed anything.

I think remember me what happened before and having to remove the battery or something.
I prefer to use Windows power options >

    Thank you
    Therese

    Hello

It's your decision what scheme of power you want to use. On some models of laptops, it is unfortunately not possible to change in power options and it is grayed out. In any case if you want to, you can remove Toshiba saving of your system and use the power of Windows option.

  • How to open Satellite 1130?

    Hello
milk has fallen in the back of the unit to my computer laptop satellite 1130.
so far, the laptop does not start. After pressing the button, green light in the front of the computer flashes for a moment and nothing happens.
now I need a manual to open it. Someone here to help me?
    concerning

    Hello

Well, it seems it s an oldie because I don t found any information s or photo that could be useful.
But I think to open Notepad, that the removal of the keyboard is necessary.
Laptops usually have a small, thin coverage on the keyboard. Under this coverage, you should find 2 screws holding the keyboard.
In addition, some screws set covers the bottom of the unit.

But if you have no experience in this procedure, try to ask someone with more experience or a technician qualified.

  • Satellite 1130-Z31: keyboard print constantly '1 '.

I own a Satellite 1130 - Z31 and have the problem that the '1' key is stuck. For example, he constantly prints "1111111111..." ad infinite.

It is the result of a spill of liquid that's happened about 9 months ago. Until yesterday the keyboard was not a problem.

I would like to either clean or Exchange the keyboard (or its conductive sheets) but need instructions on how to do it. Suppliers of replacement keyboards seem to be mainly in the United States, that is why, I would be happy if Toshiba was a distributor of spare parts in Sydney as well.

Thank you very much for your help!

    See you soon,.

    Hello

You should find a Toshiba certified maintainer in most countries.
Please use the forum advanced search for publications how to contact a service partner or where to find the asp in Australia.
Each ASP should be able to order a compatible keyboard

As far as I know the unique key on the keyboard caps are removable. You can try to clean the space under the key cap, and maybe you won't have to replace the entire keyboard.

  • Where is the HDD on Satellite 1130?

Where is the hard drive on a Satellite 1130?

    Hello

If I m remembering well HARD drive must be placed under the optical disk drive. To access HARD drive please follow:

    -Disconnect portable AC
    -Turn the computer
    -Remove the battery
-Remove the two black screws in the region half a centimeter above the back of the optical media drive (screw secures the optical drive in place)
-Remove the drive from the Bay optical media
-Remove the four black screws that attach the HARD drive
    -Pull on the HARD drive

Please be careful how you do it and you lose no screws.

    Good luck!

  • Disassemble a Satellite 1130-z24

How do I disassemble the TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24?

There a lot of dirt (Brown cotton wool as stuff) inside which vacuum cannot get rid of (as its off), but I want to disassemble clean the fluff, re - assemble and use the laptop.

I took out all the screws (I could see) under the laptop it but still no joy, the case will come out.
Charge down the user manual, but who does not tell you how to proceed.

Is there a technitions manual I can down load so he can tell me how to take apart safely.

    Hello

Disassembly manuals can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.
I didn t think not and I guess this manual are created just for a Toshiba authorized service partners and are not released for public use.

You may find some photo or details from the internet. Google is your friend always ;)

But generally speaking, it s really complicated to disassemble the laptop and I would not recommend doing this if you n t know how proceed.

Of my knowledge on most laptops the keyboard must be removed first because there could be a few screws that immobilize the other parties and covers.

Sorry, but I cannot provide more details, because the Satellite 1130-z24 is unknown to me

  • Hard drive for TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24

I just bought a 2nd hand TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24 portable

But he has only a 10 GB hard drive.

The BIOS sees a 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB or 160 GB HDD?

    Is the IDE?

    Hello

I doubt you could use bigger hard disks of 128 GB because of the 48-bit LBA.
The laptop seems to bear an IDE controller but the 48-bit LBA is supported since 2001, defines the ATA-6 Ultra DMA/100 (also called Ultra DMA mode 5 or Ultra-ATA100)

I think that your IDE controller support 28 bit and that is why you should choose less IDE 2.5 hard drives.

  • Card wireless network for Satellite 1130-z24

I just bought a 2nd hand TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24 portable

What wifi card can I use with it.

    Hello

As far as I know the laptop supports a Wlan miniPCI slot.
So in this case, you should be able to use miniPCI WLan card that supports the 802. 11b standard Wlan.

For example Wireless LAN Mini PCI card (2, 4 GHz, 802 11 b) PA3212U-3MPC should be compatible!

  • Block of power SUPPLY or AC adapter for Satellite 1130-z24

I just bought a 2nd hand TOSHIBA SATELLITE 1130-z24 laptop.

He came without a power SUPPLY or charger power.

Apart from Toshiba own PSU, can I use a universal laptop charger which is compatible with other Toshiba laptops?

SATELLITE 1130-z24 will cap size similar to that used on other Toshiba laptops.

    Hello

As far as I know the universal AC adapter part number: PA3165E - 100-240V AC, 50-60 Hz, 75W with DC 19V output would be compatible.

Just Google for certain online offerings.

  • Satellite 1130: How to upgrade the HARD drive?

I want to spend the hard drive from my old laptop Satellite 1130. But the manual to write that it is fixed, could I ask if I can update and how to?

    Thank you

    Hello

HARD drive upgrade is possible on each unit. The HARD disk must be placed under the optical media drive. Optical media drive is fixed with a screw on the underside. Remove this screw and you will be able to opt out of the Bay.

HARD disk itself is fixed by four screws.

Please don't do anything if you n t have experience with it, because everything you do to yourself is at your own risk.

    Good luck!
