Satellite 1905-S303 - fan turns on every 2 minutes

Hey guys, thanks for your help in advance.

I just noticed that my laptop fan lights quite often.

I have a Satellite 1905-S303.

How many times you ask? -The fan runs about every 2 minutes, and then it stays on for about 1 minute. (So the cycle takes about 3 minutes). Things continue to go all the time, even if the computer does nothing.

Other than that, the seams fine computer. The computer does NOT turn off overheating.

Is this normal?

I just noticed this and can't remember if it has always done this. (Although I don't think)

PS - I tried dusting the gills of the computer with compressed air, but nothing has changed.

Other than that, the seams of the computer to function very well.

Thank you guys!

> I just noticed that my laptop fan lights quite often.
I don t think it would be a bad thing
The point is that the fan lead on if a certain level of temperature has been reached.
This is nothing unusual.

I have the same problem, but I can control my Toshiba Power Saver cooling modules so I can set the parameters of battery optimized in order to reduce the speed of the fan.

Maybe you could do that too.

    Hi guys,.

First of all thank you for your help in advance.

My fan is this similar to a buzzing noise, but not very much. Almost as if something interferes here or something is loose.
It can also feel vibrations final on my wrists resulting from the present.

The computer itself works well no problems. And fan of stitching to do this work, however since his on and outside the usual tricks.
I get the feeling, it must be emphasized in working well.

It was that don't happen at the initial start upward and the problem would go sounds fan away quickly to normal.
Now this noise/vibrations come all the time every time that the fan starts.

    More fan calls, more noise/vibration.

In any case I tried to blow out with compressed air to clean it. But nothing has changed.
That's why I want to open it up, take it out, maybe clean it or see if something is loose. Or maybe replace it.

That's why I'm looking * instructions on how to replace the fan on my Satellite 1905-S303 CPU *.
Does anyone know all the instructions I can follow? I couldn't find anything on the Toshiba support site.

(Or instructions for a computer similar to mine at least?) (Or something that might help?)

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate you!

In this case, I would not recommend to disassemble the laptop just to check if the fan is ok or not
I mean disassembly of the laptop is really a delicate procedure and there is a risk of damage to the part.

However, the disassembly instructions are not downloadable on the Toshiba page. I didn t find anything and I think that these manuals are released for service only partners.
But I think you might find a few details and info on the internet. Use google and search for irisvista.com/tech/

  • Satellite 1905-s303, WinXP: giant screen, need to update the display driver?

Hey guys, thanks for your help in advance!

I am a Satellite 1905-S303 and Windows XP

Here's what s past with my computer:

When I turn it on there a little longer than normal to start. And I hear a sound of tck - tck on the back of my computer that I have don t usually hear.

When it does not start: everything on the screen is HUGE, and I get a window saying: ATI Advanced Desktop Utilities could not initialize, because no ATI driver is installed OR ATI driver does not work properly

Again, everything on my screen is huge (with the exception of the desktop background): the mouse, icons, windows, text, start menu, web browser, youtube videos, all. All the color and resolution stitching large and other than the fact that everything is great, the seams of the computer to function very well.

I ran Spybot S & D, my antivirus software and Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Everything turns out to be clean.

Okay, so, I tried to update my Device Manager display driver, and in the middle of installing Mobility M6, it is said: the file ati2mtag.sys on installation of ATI Technologies Inc. (VIDEO) DISC is needed. Type the path where the file is located.
I n t have this I can not be completed.

In any case, that s what I tried to do to solve this problem, but couldn't t. So I found this
Windows XP Display Driver for ATI M-6 graphics card and its compatible with my model computer. Located here:
    http://virtualtech.Toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2857 67xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 67910098 & stateId = 1% 200% 206 7908255
I think that what I have to do is to install the above. Can anyone advice please?
Is it safe to me, just download this driver and install it? Or is so dumb that it might mess up my computer? He says his self-installation.

Thanks a lot guys for all the help in advance. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

    Hello!

Search for this file on your HARD drive, then you have the path of this file, but if t can be found, reinstall the driver that you founded.
To do this, you must not start in safe mode. Remove the old driver files in Control Panel > add or remove programs, restart and install the driver.

On the sound of tck - tck, I can say that this results perhaps a faulty HARD drive. By controlling the Drive Fitness Test:

  • Satellite 1905-S303: plastic parts

I'm putting the hand on the plastic trim piece that conceals the LCD connector. He goes to the base between the hinges above the keyboard. This part was missing, when I got the laptop, I would consider even a broken that I might be able to fix it if that's all that's available. Surely Toshiba must make spare parts available for the latter.

  • wireless radio turns off every 2 minutes

I have a Thinkpad Z60t, running on Windows XP.

I have the wireless switch physical on the side panel on the position we (that is to the right).

At the beginning, I can't connect to any wireless network without problem. However, after about 2 minutes of not actively using the internet, the green 'radio Wireless' on the front panel turns off and I lose my internet connection. Then I do "Fn + F5" (or ThinkVantage button-> manage my connections-> Radios in Wireless Power on / off) to activate on (and get the light to go back to being green). Then I have to reconnect to the wireless network.

I think that this is a common problem. I tried several suggestions that I found on other forums, including ThinkVantage button-> manage my connections-> select location-> Open Access Connections profiles-> Configure-> location of switch-> UNSELECT "enable automatic location change". Actually, this method seems to work for a few hours, but then stopped.

I am sure that my wireless network is stable - my roommate's laptop does not lose the signal every 2 minutes as I do. I think my laptop wireless radio turns off automatically after 2 minutes of no use, and this feature should be turned off somehow.

Help, please. I'm frustrated to have to reconnect manually every 2 minutes.

    -Ed

Open Control Panel, go to the system, the property of equipment/system, then go to Device Manager.

Under the ownership of the wireless card (right click on the wireless card and property select), there are settings for the roaming of aggressiveness, energy saving and power output.

  • Satellite A300 - fan turns on every 2 min 30 seconds

    Hello

I wanted to know if its normal that the fan starts running on my Satellite A300-1hv every 2 min 30 seconds?
What is happening continuously. I'm on the maximum power of vista.

    Help will be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

Yes, it's nothing unusual, because the fan starts to turn a certain temperature level is reached.
There is a temperature sensor, and if the temperature drops to a higher level modules cooling starts to cool internal as CPU, GPU devices.
If the temperature drops then the fan slows down.
It seems that there is nothing wrong and you should t be worried

    Welcome them

  • Satellite P100 GPU fan turns costantly at low speed?

Finally something strange happened on my laptop and I wonder if even happened to other users of P100 series laptop. All of the sudden GPU fan began to operate at low speed all the time. Before he reached 60 ° C and then had shrapnel short until it cooled down to 50 ° C and the order. But now it runs at very low speeds and temperatures are around 48 C. It is not noticeable and I'm very happy with what (it should be like that from the start).

Now I wonder what could have triggered that. Do you have bios that has changed (I have the latest 2.40). At the beginning when I changed the computer bios worked as before, but then at some point I changed muffler in performance mode and since that day, the GPU fan runs constantly. I tried to change it to silent mode, but the GPU fan runs all the time. My laptop is P100-115 (Geforce 7600)

    Hello

Looks like you re a happy with the use of the fan.
I think that the new BIOS has been changed and that's why he has better influence on the performance of cooling module and so it works at very low speed. I think it is much better than the rotation of the fan restless.

As you have already mentioned the Toshiba power saver controls the speed of the CPU and cooling method. If these settings could affect the cooling of laptop.
But believe me; It of much better to have the constant low temperature and fans completely.

  • Satellite 1905-S303 PCI Wireless card does not start code 10

I put a PCI BCM94306PM broadcom wireless card in my laptop. The laptop is equipped with led however one is damaged and can not be connected, these cards may work with only one side and I even read somewhere that they can work on a short range with no led. My problem is the Device Manager indicates that the device cannot start code 10. I have a fresh install of XP Pro SP1 (not from the original restore disk). With this in mind, I think there must be some Toshiba utility or the missing driver to allow the map to work. Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Code 10 means that it is not present, not working not properly, or does not have all the drivers installed.
In this case you need to download the latest driver on Toshiba website and install it.

  • Satellite X 200-screen becomes dim every few minutes for about 3 seconds

    Hi all

The screen on my X 200 will dim [IE half brightness] during a few seconds every couple of minutes, as if she had just the food sector that is disconnected and the battery was going.

After about 2-3 seconds, he returned to full brightness [it happened two times while I'm typing this message] - very annoying.

It happened for awhile when I had Vista Ultimate installed [started about 6 months after purchase], then seems to stop to do for awhile.

Then I upgraded to Win7 Ultimate about 4 months ago. Everything was ok until this week, and it's happening again now.

    Any thoughts?

    See you soon

    PW - Australia

It is a really strange question. This dim option is available under Win7, but not under Vista.
You have different levels of brightness for each power plan?
You always use the same power plan when your laptop is running on battery and power running?

  • Fan runs louder every 2 minutes

    Hello

Anyone have a problem with the fan? Because my fan going stronger for all 2 minutes like 20 to 30 seconds, if the volume is about 15% the fan is louder than the laptop. How can I solve this problem?

Try it please change the options of cooling method in the power settings.
Power management open you use > avancΘs > Toshiba saving settings > cooling method > use optimized battery option.

After making this fan should work not so often and laptop will last much quieter. I use the same settings on my Tecra A11.

  • Satellite A135-S4666 - cooling fan turns on and turns off every 20 seconds

    Hello

I'm from the Argentina... I just bought a new Satellite A135-S4666 and I noticed that the cooling fan turns on and turns off every 20 seconds.
It is a little annoying and it disctracts me of what I'm doing... is there a solution?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Martin,

This behavior is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If you find the noise irritating cooling fans you are likely to change their behavior by using the utility of Toshiba power where you should be able to set the cooling mode to run more quietly. I think trhe default is to allow the CPU to run at full speed, which will, of course, the fans turn every few seconds, but by reducing the speed of the CPU, the heat produced will be lower and therefore the fans will run less often.

    Kind regards

  • The fan starts to every 10-15 sec on Satellite Pro A30

    Hi all

My CPU fan / seems to act strangely.
The fan comes on every 10-15 seconds for 5-10 seconds.
I recently had the A30 and the fan comes on a regular basis even when the PC is not in use.
When I put my finger on the radiator, I can feel heat quite hot when the fan is used.
It cools and the fan stops.

    Is this a normal behavior?
I ask because I have other questions, where HD/DVD not recognized.
    (posted elsewhere)

    TIA,
    Ray.

    Hello Ray

If you check this forum using the advanced search, you will find a lot of comments on the A30 cooling fan and surprise questions. A30 is quite old unit (about 4 years) and I guess she must be cleaned properly.

I guess it's pretty much dust inside and he cannot be cooled properly. If you don t want to find similar topics here visit please this page http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA35/Satellite-A35-fixing-overheating.htm
