There is no password on the bios... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

I put a windows disc now, I hear the disc spin but nothing on the screen

(I think that I have come to the right place on the forum)

    It s a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 model psl4be.

    Thank you

    > There was no bios password... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

You can set the default BIOS ONLY inside the BIOS access BIOS by pressing F2 or at the beginning of the initialization of the order

But I doubt that this problem is related to the BIOS.
Maybe it s just a simple bad luck that this problem happened exactly after change something in the BIOS.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see something on the 2nd screen.

    Hello Derek

Use the F2 key to enter the BIOS settings and change the order of boot devices. This option is under the STARTUP tab. Otherwise, you can insert the recovery CD when the unit is turned OFF. Turn it on and immediately press the C button. keep it down for a few seconds and unit is forced from the CD/DVD drive.

    Hi all

I installed a software protection against theft in my Satellite R830, but he suggested that I adjust the settings in the BIOS so that it will start only from the hard drive, and to make sure that no one else can modify it (if it is stolen), the BIOS settings are protected by Word.

Can someone tell me how to access the BIOS at startup settings upward?

    Hello

You can set the BIOS settings by setting the BIOS password.
If someone would like to change the BIOS settings, the password of the BIOS would be necessary.

It's really good that you posted this question. So far on this forum many people ask the same questions, but all have been at the origin of new machines of Win8.
Now we have the situation with the old machine Win7 but with Win8 preinstalled.

Solution for other people needed to proceed to a complete stop and after doing this, it was possible to enter the BIOS settings. Check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm

This situation does not for me so here's a question for you:
When you start your laptop, I guess you can see the Toshiba start screen. With F2 option is shown on the bottom of the screen?

    Hello Dan

As far as I know these parameters do not exist and if the laptop has shared memory it runs automatically.
In the past, that Toshiba has never offered these options in the BIOS, and so far nothing has changed.
