Satellite 2410-303: Question about software update and service in the northern part of Cyprus

First of all, I have a Satellite 2410-303 and I hoped that I can update my toshiba but there is no my toshiba model name in the Download Center. It has 2410-303 in the Download Center and I install the update on my toshiba. This will damage my toshiba?

Secondly, I recorded my toshiba. I can access my account, then I'll download center update but my toshiba model is not correct (Magnia 550 d isn't my toshiba). I do not have other updates. How can I solve this problem?

Finally, studying at University of the Eastern Mediterranean in Northern Cyprus. I am waiting for this area, but I could not find any point of service. Is there any point of service in the northern part of Cyprus?

Thank you very much for interested in my topic and your comments!

The simple driver update will not damage your laptop but the incorrect BIOS.
Anyway, Sam is right. The S in the first step means satellite. This is why you must use drivers for 2410-303. These are the correct drivers and they should work on the laptop.

If you are looking for the right service partner I would say visiting this site:
http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?PF=true

You will find a database with ASP together all over the world.

    Hi Galin,

It is generally not possible to update the graphics card in a notebook. They are generally adapted to fit the available space and also specially designed drivers that are specific to your model of laptop. It is also quite common for them to use the RAM shared rather than having their own chip RAM (although some later model specifications have dedicated for graphics RAM).

You can check in your advanced (from Control Panel) display options if you can adjust the RAM available for your graphics card.

  • Satellite C660-1F1 - Question about newer drivers and the speed of the memory

Some of the drivers for this laptop are outdated compared to the most recent drivers on peripheral manufacters website. Is it safe to use these new drivers or is it recommended to stick with the old drivers that are on the Toshiba site?

And second question: is it possible to make the fastest possible working memory supported? Don t BIOS options include options for the parameters of memory. Why the memory is running as low mhz in case of default? CPU - Z shows that the current frequency of dram is 532, 2 mhz. What is the maximum, it is at 667 mhz? Probably she can´t be 1 066 MHz as promised in the specs?

    Hi cryogenized,.

    > Some of the drivers for this laptop are outdated compared to the most recent drivers on peripheral manufacters website. Is it safe to use these new drivers or is it recommended to stick with the old drivers that are on the Toshiba site?
Why you want to update your drivers? Do you expect a gain of performance with newer drivers?

Way General, with official Toshiba drivers you are on the safe side because they are pre-tested. If you can make sure that they work properly and don t cause property damage. Install the other drivers happens on your own risk!

    > And second question: is it possible to make the fastest possible working memory supported? Don t BIOS options include options for the parameters of memory. The laptop is equipped with modules of DDR3 1066 MHz and the RAM speed is dependent on the FSB of the processor. If your CPU is throttling down, RAM modules will work also on low speed. On a high utilization of the processor (100%) the RAM modules must run with speed of 1066 MHz I think.

  • Satellite A60-131: Question about upgrade RAM and HARD drive

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 S-131, bought 2 years ago.
I want to know is it possible for me to upgrade (internal) for a superior ability to HDD 40 GB HARD drive and update my RAM to 512 MB on the rise.

Also I already inserted a 256 MB DDR RAM in the empty memory slot almost 1 year ago.

    Help will be appreciated.

    Hi Pranjal,

You can definitley upgrade your hard drive for a larger version. You should find that a 80 or 100 GB will work fine. You should make sure that you get you a new disc with the same physical characteristics as you existing. The following link will help you remove the hard drive.
    http://irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA65/satA65_1.htm

You can also get a new hard drive with a more rapid rotation speed (5400 RPM or 7200 RPM).

I think that the maximum RAM for the A60 is 1.25 GB which includes 1 X fixed module (I presume yours is 256 MB, which means that you can install an additional module with a capacity up to 1 GB. Available in capacities of 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 GB of RAM modules.

    Kind regards

    Hello

The CPU cannot be replaced. But you can expand the memory with the modules:
    PA3499U - 1 M 25 (Kit of memory 256 Mo DDR2-667)
    PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)

    PA3513U-1M2G(DDR2-667 2GB Memory Kit)

    DDR2-533 256 MB (PA3389U - 2M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-533 PA3412U - 2 M (51)
    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

The maximum memory that you can use this camera is 4 GB.

  • Satellite L30-134 - question about upgrade CPU and video performance

Hi have updated my satellite l30 - 134 with a bus t2450 dual core @2 ghz 533 Mhz = cpu is runing swell-marks look nice... BUT - my video performance droped a lot - grafics 2d - to top but 3d grafics are very poor why? driver problem?
    have also 2 g ram 2 x 1 g kinmax @ 6xx runing @533

can anyone help? see that are some similar configs on this site... then maybe you can help me
    I'll try editing a xp 64 bit (curently runing xp sp3 32-BIT)

    > I'll try editing a xp 64 bit (curently runing xp sp3 32-BIT)
Forget that don t recommend install Win XP 64-bit.
Why? Because the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular as Win 32 bit or Vista/Win 7 64 bit and you won't find many drivers for Win XP 64 bit.
Stay with XP 32 bit or you can change to Win 7 64 bit.

    Regarding the graphical issue;
Have you noticed that also using the old CPU (Intel Celeron M Processor 410)?
If this were not the case, then I guess this could be a problem between the CPU and BIOS.
Otherwise I would recommend upgrading the graphics card driver.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Question about RAM upgrade and warranty

I just bought my machine and Ive decided to install some more ram. No one knows if it will affect my Gurentee. I can't find anything on the Web site on this topic. Should I get a Toshiba to install official repairman or something?
    Thank you

    Hello

Please check you user manual. Usually, the slot memory must be placed at the bottom of the unit. If you remove the cover, you should see the slots.
Usually memory upgrade procedure is described in the user manual so you can upgrade the memory yourself and the procedure of upgrading doesn t affect your warranty.
But please make sure you use the right modules.
However, you can also contact Toshiba for the upgrade of memory.

  • Satellite 1900-303 - question about display driver

There are TWO pilots in the Toshiba site dated one month apart.

Should I install a former first and then the second?

There is no details on the site.

    Check it out here

I really don't understand why there are two of them, but in my opinion, you must install the driver with the number of listed versions. I can't imagine that you need to install both of them.

If please test and let us know how it works.

  • Satellite L40-139: Question about upgrade Expresscard and Bluetooth

I'm looking the L40-139, which has a spare expresscard slot.
I also have built-in bluetooth, not a usb dongle.
Everyone aware of the solution bluetooth expresscard.

I could also upgrade the RAM.
Are there problems by replacing the two 512 MB with 1 GB devices.

    Hello

I don't know if there is already a Bluetooth Expresscard module on the market, but I ve found an interesting site about this. I don't know if this helps you, but maybe it might lead you the way to a better survey then I did: http://www.expresscard.org/web/site/cons_wtb.jsp

Regarding memory, it shouldn´t be a problem to extend your memory to a maximum of 2 GB. You must use the modules DDR2 at 667 Mhz. This is the only point.
Try using kingston modules because they are known to work well in almost all brands.

    Good luck:)

    Welcome them

  • Satellite 2410-303 crashes when the cache CPU 2 level has been activated

I have Satellite 2410-303 Bios version 1.40 and when I activate CPU level 2 cache dose of laptop not working still hang.
So now, I have only to activate CPU level 1 cache and turn off level 2 cache if the laptop run slowly.

    Hello

Well, what to say, the level 2 cache is an external memory to the CPU.
Maybe there is something wrong with the CPU? Who knows

Have you tried to update the BIOS? Check if this is possible and if the newer BIOS version is available.
Sorry, but I cannot suggest alternatives because to me, it looks like a hardware problem and in this case the ASP help is necessary.

  • Satellite 2410-303-display flashing, update the BIOS

    HY!

I am the owner of the Satellite 2410-303 series. Display does not work very well. I do not know it is because of drivers (even me, I installed the drivers by default) or maybe it's because the LCD screen. Maybe poor contact or something like that? I don't want to take my turn for the service center more because they don't know how to solve the problem. Only what they say is: «I'm sorry, but you have to buy a new...» »

In speaking of the bios it is 1.20 in 2002. I want to download 1.40 (think it's most recent) but do not know where to download... Please help because this is my first tour & I want to revive his soul... THX.

    Hello

I always thought that this forum is serious, but you try to make us laugh reading your ad.

Sorry, but your comment about service is for me really ridiculous. Do you really think that all the issues can be fixed and nothing should be exchanged? I respect your opinion, but I think you're not qualified to talk about. Or maybe you're a technician material. If so, then I feel sorry for my comment.

Anyway, if you have a display problem trying to connect to external monitor and see exactly what is happening. It will be interesting to know how starts flickering.

  • Satellite 2410-303 - I can he move to 2 GB of RAM?

    Hey

I have Toshiba Satellite 2410-303 and I want to upgrade the RAM.
This work Satellite 2410-303 2 x 512 MB (1 GB max) DDR1 266 MHz (PC2100). Today is not easy to buy that RAM, and 1 GB is not.
    I think the BIOS update, but on the [main site | http://ce.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?LNG=20&service=CE&selC fulltext = 8 & selFamily = 192 & selSeries = 116 & selProduct 3 95 = & selShortMod = 200 & language = null & selOS = null & selTyp e = null & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = null & selectedLanguage = null & type = null & pag e = 1 & ID = 22031 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

Is there nothing that contains the new BIOS.
I have now, I'm not if update BIOS give me the possibility to expand to 2 or more GB of RAM.

Maybe someone can help me and find out what effect update to give a new BIOS.

    Good bye

    Hello!

Well buddy, new BIOS doesn t improve the maximum capacity of RAM so it s not necessary to update the BIOS.
In addition, the Satellite 2410-303 supports up to 1 GB of RAM. If you already have the maximum RAM capacity.

In your case I would update the BIOS only if you have some problems with the laptop. If you can find t a change log on the Toshiba site is not available.
Last but not least never touch a running system. ;)

    Good bye
