Satellite 2450 - no sound after I re-installed XP SP2
I need to find a driver for my sound card, and I don't know how.
I have a Satellite 2450 and I bought it in 2003 at the Denmark.
That's basically what I know on the PC and it does not help me much because looking for drivers is structured in A, B, C... etc the series, I don't see no number 2450.
Can you help me?
Your series of laptops is very old ;) to look for in the area of ARCHIVE page of European driver of Toshiba.
There you should find an audio driver that could be compatible with the Win SP2.
Please post feedback after reinstalling the driver.
I have a Satellite 2450 and have just replaced my 30 GB drive with a 40 GB drive and trying to use the recovery disk, I get the error PXE.
I understand that I need to change the boot order of LAN, but when I have the power by pressing F12 it lets me select the CD/DVD drive, and then gives me the same error.
Any help is received with gratitude.
It seems that the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc, and therefore the BIOS passes to LAN and try to boot from LAN.
In this case you will receive the error check cable PXE.
Did you check if you can use another bootable disk?
I mean you can try to install Windows using the Win XP disk
Maybe booting from another disc would work
My laptop is a satellite 2450 and he began to turn on when I stopped him.
I think that this is a power supply problem or a problem of mtherboard.
Other users had this problem and what was the cure?
You have a connected network cable? Maybe Wake-On-LAN is enabled.
Or maybe the LCD lid switch must be a pure: p
I have a windows xp computer 2004
I recently had to format my pc and when I reached and installed windows net framework 2 which is correct, but when I installed microsoft service pack 2, that would no longer be my pc access upgrades from microsoft or some other web pages!
I received the message cannot display the page and no internet conection when I'm connected to the internet?
I can get the correct browser page
So I had to uninstall SP2 for microsoft access
I tried updating my drivers, but have been informed that there is no better match!
My pc is now at the stage where it wants to install the SP2 of Microsoft but I don't know how to avoid or solve the problem that I get that I reinstalled SP2 about 3 times
because I contacted help and support just to be told to go to the FAQ site "very useful and not."
I would be very gratefull if anyone can help me with this quest!
Thank you very much
Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows. Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!
HOW to do a clean install of Windows XP: see method 1 and http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html#steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978307
Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or one local network (i.e. other computers) otherwise and before using a flash drive or the SD card that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

Tip: After getting the computer fully patched, download/install KB971029 manually: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971029
NB: No matter what Norton or McAfee free trial which is preinstalled on the computer when you bought will be reinstalled (but invalid) when Windows is reinstalled. You MUST uninstall the trial for free and download/run the removal tool before installing updates, Windows Service Packs, or updates IE and before installing your new anti-virus application (which will require WinXP SP2 must be installed).

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.

Perhaps the solution described in this thread might help:
1. download Microsoft's KB835221 hotfix
2. Remove "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus"
3. install KB835221
4. reboot the system
5 XP automatically detects devices
6. after that you don't need, but you can install the realtek drivers
I bought the Satellite Pro L40 about 6 months ago and the speed of the laptop is too slow with windows Vista. So I decided to install an old copy of windows XP that I had purchased earlier. I updated the windows SP3 installation before installing the drivers.
Now, all the drivers have been installed correctly except the audio driver. I downloaded the XP version of the driver on the toshiba site, but it did not work. So I though that maybe the vista version would work, so I downloaded that. But that no longer works.
Can someone suggest a solution where I can get the audio driver to work? Preferably without having to get the reinstalled windows again.
Please help me...!
Try to reinstall the driver for sound card for XP; Just go here-> [fo Realtek card its Driver XP | http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/sound-20071120150900.zip]
Hope this helps :)

The machine is a Satellite P100 just more than a year, came with Vista installed. No problem until today when Vista SP1 has been automatically downloaded and installed. Now I have no sound from speakers or headphones.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver Conexant Audio Hi-Def to the latest recommended on the Toshiba site.
I tried to restore to before the time when SP1 was installed.
I updated the BIOS to the last on the Toshiba site.
I pulled my hair.
Someone at - it any other suggestions?
It s certainly a useful information. Thanks again!
had to install xp because vista is not good for me. the system does not install sound card drivers, and Device Manager, there is no listed his card.
I have yellow? marks on "PCI Device" I think it's the soundcard and "network controller".
I searched this forum and got some results that looked like they can solve the problem, but unfortunately the recommended fix was removed by Microsoft.
* Before would be to install the audio driver, you must first install the *.
* KB888111.* and AUDIO KB835221 hotfix
* Here are the patches from Microsoft. Search the net for download *.
* After installation, restart the operating system, and then try to reinstall the driver sound again.*
Microsoft, still have KB888111, but no KB835221, as they claim that it has been proven to fail!
Here is the link to the missing patch.
Hope this helps you.
First of all sorry for my bad English; P
I installed Windows XP Pro on my computer and all the drivers with installation instructions, but I have no sound, there is no audio device. I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site and the Realtek site. Both do not work.
Check this thread http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99567 please
There is some discussion on the similar problem. Maybe it will help you with your Satellite U300.
Bye and good luck!
I just reinstalled windows xp Prof today and upgraded to service pack 3.
Sound has worked well in the first until a reboot, no more noise.
A few reinstalls the drivers now, sometimes he says its all installed fine, other times it says no audio devices installed.
In both cases there is no sound...
Sometime on a restart (many reboots today) the sound suddenly came back to life, to die again at the next reboot...
Im hoping someone can help me with this problem cos Im leaving on vacation tomorrow and really need my sound ;)
Thanks in advance!
You should on Windows XP two audio patches if you have a card high definition audio:
These updates are in integrated SP3, you must install Service Pack 3 or the updates first, then the audio driver. So in your case, I would like to delete the sound driver, use CCleaner and then install the latest version from the Toshiba site.
I was handed a second laptop to work - so not sure if the sound is already working but...
(1) I installed Vista Business Edition
(2) no sound through the speakers or headphones
(3) no error in the Windows Device Manager.
-Reinstalled the Realtek drivers on the site of pilots tosh
This is updated from windows
-During playback of an audio file, that the graphic equalizer appears normally - that is bouncing up and down with the beat
Now of ideas!
Thanks in advance!
I think I know what could be the problem.
The sound should be set as high as possible before the installation of Vista!
In addition, you should check if the sound wasn't mute runig the previous operating system.
This may affect the sound on the new Vista operating system installed!
I searched a bit on sites Web of Toshiba and the Central knowledge and found this useful article about the problems of sound on Vista OS
[Its utility to turn Mute Off | http://support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=1671893&pf=true]
I would appreciate any comments from you
Have downloaded audio drivers and installed on laptop but unit still does not.
Media players gives this message:
+ Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with the audio device. There may be a sound device installed on your computer, it can be used by a program or it is not working properly. +
What should I do?
I found the other thread you have already posted:
The user Jayjay has already posted a solution. Check the last assignment!
I've updated the audio driver on my laptop A30 today on the Toshiba site with download of Realtek Semiconductor Corporation, and now the sound does not work. It's my single stereo so I feel really bad. The original driver discs are stored and I'm not very techie so help please...
Thanks a lot for your time, Phill
First of all, I would like to check the sound settings in the control panel to make sure that none of them are extinguished, and that "dumb" is not checked. Also check that the volume on the side of your A30 control is enough at full volume.
In the case where everything is set correctly, I would then reload the driver Realtek of the utility CD and tools of Toshiba. If you do not have access to the CD then you can restore the driver to its original state by selecting the audio device in Device Manager"and roll back driver it.
If all else fails you should be able to 'restore' your system from the last point before your installation of the new driver restore.
I really need help from anyone out there. I installed Windows XP Home edition on my Toshiba Satellite L40 after that I realized, there is no sound. I tried to install all kinds of updates, drivers and all, but still nothing.
All make me is that I have no audio device.
Grateful for the help as soon as possible.
Do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?
Are you sure that you have installed all the drivers?
Have you installed SP2 or SP3 for Windows XP? You must at least use SP2 for XP.
And as said Akuma, check the Microsoft KB to the hoftixes. Before you apply this update, you must remove the driver. Otherwise it will not work.
You can also search in the forum, there are already discussions on this topic.
First of all, sorry for my English but I'm french ^^

Really strange question.
Have you tried to uninstall / and / reinstall the audio driver?
Please do it.
Audio driver can be downloaded from the European pilot page Toshiba.
Before installing the new driver, remove the pre-installed sound driver and restart the laptop. After that the installation of the downloaded new driver sound.
Restart the device and test it.

If it is possible to update the graphics card, which would be recommended to upgrade, I spend most of my time on this laptop computer game and it is a bit slow, I already updated the RAM 8 GB. If it is not possible to update the graphics card, which
