Satellite 2800-200; is it possible to upgrade the memory and HARD drive capacity

Hi all

my computer is a Toshiba Satellite S2800-200 (old) and I wont to ask if it is possible to upgrade memory capacity and disk.

Thank you

Of course you can upgrade these laptop parts.
The laptop seems to be equipped with an internal memory which is not removable.

http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=7168&ft=m&St=3
According to the website above, you can use only one memory for an upgrade slot.
You can use the 144-Pin PC100 SODIMM 128 MB module. It's max.

I m not 100% sure on the HARD drive, but as I m not trunk not the laptop came with 10 GB HARD drive. Generally, a 20 GB HARD drive should be possible.

Good bye

My daughter has a laptop of Toshiba S2800-200 eldely.
It is broken where the mains cable between the machine and she has been quoted £100 for repair!
She has already bought a new computer repair is not an option.

Toshiba, however, contains some files (photos, music etc, mainly) that she would like to keep, but get the files of the computer laptop and on its new machine is a problem.

My thought is to buy a cheap USB basket somewhere like eBay, remove the hard drive and use the caddy to download photos. etc on his new computer via the USB port.

To buy the correct caddy I need to know the full spec (diameter, capacity, etc.) of the Toshiba hard drive and I don't have a clue!

Can someone here point me to the spec of the drive on a Toshiba S2800-200 please?

I guess the Satellite 2800 series is supported by the IDE HDD controller and HARD drive would be also a 2.5 IDE HDD.
That's why you should look for a USB IDE HDD box

I have a model of retina 13 "early 2015. It has a 256 GB HARD drive and I was wondering if it is possible at this level to 1 TB.

    Thank you.

The MBP of 2015 early is not a regular HD. Its a blade type SSD PCIe. Although it is technically possible to change, I don't think it all 1 TB blade Type PCIe SSD drives out there to replace it with.

And at the back of the laptop, there is a cover that is fixed with a screw.

Wil I void the warranty when I unscrew and take a look?

The motherboard supports Sata III: D.

No, the mandate must still be valid.
There is a removable cover at the bottom of the unit as shown here:

Then you should be able to upgrade the RAM and HARD drive.
I think this info should be mentioned in the user manual too.

  • Envy 15 t: upgrade memory and hard drive HP ENVY 15t

Hi guys, I just bought the HP Envy 15 not touch t (ae100) with the following characteristics:

-CPU & graphics: 6th generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core processor + Intel HD Graphics 530

    -Memory: 8 GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM

-Hard drive: 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive

I have a few questions about it. First of all, my laptop doesn't have a vacant unit of m2 where I can insert an SSD and if not a SATA 3 2.5-inch SSD fits instead of the hard disk without additional fixing or need support.

Second, is there an empty memory slot to insert a 8 GB of additional ram.

Any kind of assistance will be extremely useful and thanks in advance.

No crack m2. From the Manual:

Only dedicated support of storage SATA m2 (Port 0) (models with i7 processors and 4 GB memory graphics)

So if you have Intel HD video only you do not have a slot m2.

Here's the manual for your use:

    Repair manuals

Yes on the memory 8 GB 2d module:

Both not accessible/upgradable module DDR3L-1600 slots double channel memory support 16 GB of RAM in the following conƭgurations ● 16384-Mo (8192 MB × 2)

Access to the memory and hard drive are obtained by removing the lower cover. Technically this is not allowed to the end user if security is jeopardized.

A standard 2.5 inch SATA SSD to integrate perfectly in the original hardware for hard disk 5400 RPM. It is a highly recommended update. The 16 GB of RAM not so much, but it's one of those things "might as well" If you are determined to go there.

    @Lord_Nikon

In fact, this is not true. As long as he uses a large SSD enough it will be able to use the recovery media. I suggest using a SSD of 256 or 512 GB if budgeted for the upgrade...

He doesn't have to make a Windows 7 installation USB drive and use the activation key license on the certificate of authenticity from the PC Windows to perform a cleanup to install.

One of them should be on your PC. The Prodct key is what is needed for installation and activation online.

    > I want to upgrade the ram and the new graphics card

Upgrading RAM is possible but the graphics card is unable to be updated!

If you want to upgrade the memory you could update to 1536 MB max.
The A60 supports 512MB internal memory and it is so that one memory slot where the extra RAM module can be inserted.

    These modules are compatible:
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

  • Equium A200 PSAE8E: Need info on memory and HARD drive upgrade

In the manual of my Equium A200 PSAE8E described the possibility for the user to add a second internal hard drive and upgrade the memory from 2 GB to 4 GB. This can be done by the end user without taking the laptop to the local service for repair.

I would like to order a 200 GB internal second hard drive, as well as to replace the 2 chips of 2 GB of Ram with 2 4 GB chips, but I find not the product ID for these modules, because it seems that this model of Toshiba psae8e is not registered for compatibility.

Someone has technical details about the product ID and the cost to be sure to order the right parts without compatibility issues?
    Thank you

    Hello

I would like to add some info on the second HARD drive on laptop Equium A200 upgrade.
As far as I know all the A200 are delivered with the second HARD drive location. This location is available, but not all phones of A200 could be improved with the second HARD disk, since it lacks the second HARD disk controller interface.

Therefore, you should be 100% sure if your laptop can handle the second HDD.
You can simply check this remove the cover of the location of the HDD on the second and check if the connection of the HARD disk is available.
If this isn't the case, then you cannot move the laptop with the second HARD drive.

    Now something about the memory.
I studied in the internet for some compatible modules and surprise, surprise ;)
    Found this wonderful site:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=30715&ft=m&St=3

According to the news the portable supports the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules.

All parts such as memory or HARD drive can be ordered also with the service provider authorized in your country!

  • Satellite P100-119: is it possible to upgrade the processor to Core Duo?

I ve a Satellite P100-119 computer laptop with 1, 66 GHz (Core Duo). Is it possible to install a faster processor (2.0 Ghz Duo Core) in this notebook, without Exchange of the motherboard?

    Hello

Toshiba doesn't usually recommend upgrading CPU and doesn t support these upgrades. Everything you make are at your own risk!
In this case you will lose the warranty and if something goes wrong you will not get any support.

Well, some people suggested that it is possible and that works, but I've never tried and cannot give you a 100% guarantee that it will work.

  • Satellite X 200 - 21 G: want to update the memory to 4 GB

    Hello Andrew,.

first of all, I want to thank you for sharing your experience.

I have a Satellite X 200-21 G and I would like to upgrade memory to 4 GB too.

I looked to upgrade Toshiba, Kingston, Corsair WEB PAGE to find the right module type but with any success.

On the Toshiba WEB there are suggestions for module 1 GB only.

All modules of 2 GB, I found are 667 Mhz 533 Mhz module is required for Satellite X 200.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you in advance.

    Felice - IK8WTD

    Hello Felice,

    The memory I bought is Kingston 2 x 2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz module.
These memories are usually backward compatible to 533 Mhz.

No problem for me. Computer works best works/normal applications, but also games better than ever with good performance.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P10: Question about the limits of upgrade of RAM and HARD drive

What are the limits to upgrade my laptop Satellite P10? Currently, I use 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) and I still have the original 60 GB 4200 RPM HARD drive. I'm mainly interested in upgrading my hard drive to at least get a 7200 RPM 100 GB disc. Better would be one of the ones 24 hours server as Hitachi HTE721010G9AT00, I have just turned off my computer. Which one to take and are there limits (BIOS) (keeping in mind that there will be 200 and even the 250 GB drives next year)?

RAM: should I put two 200pin SO-DIMM 333 or 533 or should not change at all as it works very well and stabil now?

    Hello

In my eyes you should follow the guidance of Toshiba line and must use the memory modules that are recommended in the user guide. But if you can also try to test with 400 Mhz or 533 Mhz. I think that each dealer notebook or memory could do that.

I think the BIOS might be able to handle the hard drive with capacity of 30 GB / 40 GB / 60 GB / 80 GB, Bus Master IDE with ultra DMA 100 synchronous
In my opinion the BIOS does not recognize the larger HARD drive.

  • Satellite A100 - memory and hard drive upgrade

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite A100-158 of the model code PSAA9E-01700VPT. It came with a 80 GB HDD at 5400 RPM S.M.A.R.T. and 1 GB of RAM DDR2 (533 MHz).

I think that my computer slows to a crawl because maybe I thought the hard drive being old and low memory for recent programs and therefore upgrade the hard drive and memory.

A Western Digital Scorpio Black 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB 2.5 inch would fit? According to them, it's running at 7200 RPM with the energy consumption of a drive 5400 RPM (marketing simply bad maybe).

And a memory card Kingston 2 GB DDR2 800 MHz working? It has a higher frequency than my current ram, but then I guess he can withdraw maximum permitted by the motherboard? I guess that's 533 Mhz as my module memory factory. I can also buy a module 2 GB of the same manufacturer exact DDR 2 as well but 667 MHz instead... still higher than my current memory module.

Thanks much for the tips... I hope that this will bring my A100 more in standards without going to a new laptop :)

    Hello

Generally, a HARD drive with more RPM isn't a problem, but he needs a little more power and product more heat, but it should work.
It s based on your application that you are running. For normal use, 5400 RPM should be ok.

The modules of RAM with higher specifications are also no problem because it s downgrade compatible for lower speed (533 MHz).
Kingston is always recommendable, I've never had a problem with these modules. :)

  • Satellite P20-504: memory and HARD drive upgrades

    Hello world

I have an OG (Original giant) P20-504.

Friday the 13th (seriously!), my hard drive is dead, thankfully I had a recent backup.

    I need some recommendations: -.

    (1) best to buy 80 GB drive.
    (2) I want to improve my memory, that can use? (2048MB is the target)
    (3) the modular drive of 2 adapters can still be purchased
    (4) no adapters only allow you to add a 2.5 inch drive?

In addition, anyone who has any point of view on how the P20 (mine has a 3.2 GHZ processor) will take care of Vista? I think that the graphics card may be a little wussy.

Also, how the P20 to compare with today's machines?

    Concerning

    Richard

    Hi Richard

I m in the same situation as you.
I want to install Vista on my old A50, but it has not been possible because of the 25 MB of ram. I have upgraded to 512 MB to I hope it's going to market.
Of course, the graphics card is not very fast, but I think that the operating system should run. I think you should also be able to install the Vista if the laptop supports 512MB min.

In any case, ask the best 80 GB HARD disk. I advise to use a cache of 8 MB 5200mrp HDD. This should work.
PS: I had a HARD drive a week ago headcrash. Very stupid situation. I bought a 60 GB HARD drive because I wasn't sure if the larger HARD drive will work on my old laptop.

Memory you can upgrade up to 2048 MB (2 x 1024) and the module of PC2100 DDR - RAM is compatible

    Good bye
