  But for Satellite 2800-200, I can only find driver sound and BIOS update day but perhaps other Satellite 2800 models (e.g. 2800-600), you can use these drivers.

  What can I do to fix this?
  How can I change my BIOS so that the HARD drive is recognized?

  My hard drive is MK2023GAS and is not broken. There is nothing on this HARD drive.

  It is broken where the mains cable between the machine and she has been quoted £100 for repair!

The list of whole software for this device is not known to me, but I assume that there is also something preinstalled to support the subwoofer function, but please don t ask me that. If you have preinstalled recovery image may be that you will be able to know what it can be.

  the biggest model in the 2800 series was delivered with a 30 GB HARD drive. But I think you can try a 40 or 60 GB HARD drive.
  The bad news is that I can not promise you, since the machine is a pentium platform 3 and I Don t really know what size they discs can be...

  The safest way is to buy an external USB HARD drive and just put the data on it, but that's just my opinion... ;)
