Periodically the battery stops charging a the only way out is to turn it off, remove the battery and press on & press and hold power for about 30 years.   But try this:

  -access the BIOS and set it to the default value (press F9 to get default and save changes by pressing F10)
  -close the laptop and unplug the battery adapter and ac
  -Press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.
  -connect the battery and ac adapter and turn on the device
  -check if the battery can be charged.
