Satellite 4030 has much too much memory embedded - 66 MB not 64 MB

Hi all

I have a 2nd Satellite 4030 user who has far too much memory shipped! [66 MB not 64 mb]
The maximum allowed to my machine is Total = 312 mb.

I added a 256 MB stick in slot 1 memory to the supposed 64 MB on board & it does not start.
I put back the original 128 MB & started stick & apparently, I have 66 MB of RAM?

Adding to this 66 MB 256 = 314 MB! 2Mbmb more than max allowed.
I tried 2 different sticks of 256 of ram to my other laptop Toshiba & still no boot [prove it is the amount of ram?]

Am or work around for this I stuck running on only 192 MB?

Help K Morton

Hello Morton

This is a very stupid situation. That I can see, nobody has written anything in the last 3 days and to be honest, it is not easy to say why this happens.

I don't really have experience with these cases, but maybe you can try to update BIOS. Check Toshiba support page and try to update BIOS. Maybe BIOS values will be refreshed, and after that the memory will be displayed as it should be.

  • Satellite L300 has no sound and the modem also does not work

I have this Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLB8A - 1F004) an Australian model who was working perfectly until I changed the hard drive after he developed bad sectors.
    I installed Win Vista Business.

I have all drivers (TOSAPINS file) provided with the original hard drive, but when I installed the drivers in the correct order. IE chipset, modules, audio, modem, and all the other pilots.

There is still a little red x on the taskbar saying: "no audio output device is installed" and I also noticed that the modem is not listed in Device Manager. I also tried to replace a work from a cell phone same model modem card, but it still shows no signs of picking up the modem as well as his driver.

I made the attempt to download the drivers from mytoshiba.com.au under the exact model and the OS and installed but nothing helps, the problem is still there.

No sign of modem picked up and the little red x on the taskbar always shows "no audio output device is installed" and on Device Manager, is not to show the audio or modem. There is also nothing in the typical yellow marks and also I tried to show hidden devices but there is still no sign.

Is there something else I missed that I can try again?

    WewakMaster

I agree, with Akuma. First remove the audio controller from Device Manager (can be found under audio and game controllers).

Then update the Vista of the State. All patches and Service Packs must be installed.
Then, restart the device and install the driver Audio from Realtek ALC268 from here:

  • Satellite C55 - Has - 1 L 0 does not start in Windows 8

    Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a bit.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C55 - has - 1 L 0 here and it does not start in Windows 8.

I turn it on, the Toshiba start screen appears, and then I get a message on a black screen saying "media control" (failure) and after a little while "no boot device. Please restart.

I checked the BiOS and it does not see the hard drive (said HARD drive - no) and even in the boot order list, I don't get a list with the DVD drive with the exact name, but for the HARD drive.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 key and get the list to choosw where I want to start but by selecting the disk hard does not work.

So I thought I'd try a live distribution of linux to see where is my hard drive and back up my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot CMS mode) but I can't find there too. (I have a file fstab and mtab, it would help if I posted it here?)
Is my HARD drive broken? Can I try something else?

    Thank you very much!

You are right. This issue should be fixed by the authorized service provider.
Furthermore, why do some risk steps to check this problem, if the warranty is valid.
Warranty will cover the repair costs.

  • Error 2013 CVI: the compiler has run out of memory.

    Hello

I get this error in a source file, I want to debug:

1, 1 Error: The compiler has run out of memory.
1, 1 Note: You may be able to work around the problem:
1, 1 A. Set the debugging level to 'no run-time checking'.
1, 1 B. Split your source file into smaller files.
1, 1 C. Enable the 'O' option for your source file in the project.
1, 1 D. Move large static data structures into new files and
1, 1 enable the 'O' option for the new files.

Options A and C turn off debugging AIDS especially, and I don't dare edit.

So no possibility to increase the memory limit?

  • My Safari is using too much memory

I use Safari 9.1.1 on my iMac (OS X 10.9.5)...) Last week, Safari uses too much memory causing my computer to slow down and own memory has automatically free up space.  I use the same sites in multiple windows.  But it will bring my RAM available to a dangerous level of 2 MB...

Memory will make things worse. The amount of RAM is installed?

  • AVG says using too much memory because multiple firefox is open, but I only see one.

AVG regularly analyzes in the background. Lately he has demonstrated a popup window that says multiple applications of Firefox are running and using too much memory, so I should close some. But I can only see 1. Tried CTRL ALT DEL to see if I could find the answer, but only showed 1 firefox, and that he used more than 28 000. So I think that AVG is correct, but does not know how to see what who or where they are. They DO NOT display in the lower menu on the main screen, so I guess they are in the background. Do not have the virus, and Firefox, regularly updates itself. What should I do to fix?

    Hi cmich80220.
It is true, that you should only be able to run only one instance of Firefox at the same time. I searched but could not find someone else with a similar problem. If the problem comes back to Firefox running slowly, you can consult this article for troubleshooting:

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • Explorer.exe and svchost.exe using too much memory

I have disabled the automatic updates after the last round of updates, and now, all of a sudden, explorer.exe and svchost.exe use too much memory... enough to interfere with other programs, I try to use.

    Help?

Windows XP Professional - Svc Pack 3 processor: Intel (r) Pentium (r) D CPU 2.80GHz CPU speed: 2.73 GHz memory: 512 MB

Why you turn off automatic updates?

There are between the two options. I just set it to notify. When it is practical, I go to the Microsoft Update slte and use the custom (not Express) option. This gives the user full control of the update of trial.

You will have a better idea of the cause of the problem using Process Explorer.

    Download Process Explorer.
For more information about Process Explorer, see here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/ProcessExplorer.mspx

With svchost.exe provide us a list of services using the process. There are number of processes that are using svchost.exe, so we need to know that we provide more targeted assistance. Right click on the process, click on properties and look at the Services tab.

Solution Explorer. exe has a number of subprocesses. Select the sub-process, click Properties and check the Services tab.

Have you recently changed all types of starting any service. This often leads to the problem. Users often disable a reflection of service to speed up the system performance. In practice what is done is of one or several programs to malfunction.

  • AIR iOS app - how much memory consumption, it's too?

    Hi all

I have an app focused on Flex AIR that works very well on Android.

IOS (iPhone 4), it freezes after it worked for a while, and I suspect that the problem is that the application consumes too much memory.

I'm looking at System.totalMemoryNumber, and it is the statement that the application uses between 17 and 23 MB right until it freezes.

Is this a lot for an iOS app?

Is there a better way for me to review/research/diagnose this? I did a lot of research and it does not appear that AIR apps get no warning IOS memory becomes low.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi all

I answer at least a part of my own question...

I created a test application that has added 10K characters in a string on every enterFrame, then he ran until it crashed. He always seems to get up to about 175 MB (as reported by System.totalMemoryNumber) before it crashes.

This has happened with and without several other applications running in the background.

As mentioned above, it is on an iPhone 4.

It seems that my current problem is not caused by excessive memory consumption.

  • My Flash project contains too much memory.

I am creating a Flash photo album and left many pictures in my work. However, my project has recently stopped working in Flash Player and either crashes or causes an error message indicating that too much memory is in use. I need all these pictures in my photo album, so removal of some is out of the question. Is there any other way to fix my project?

Yes, not to put one of the photos in the photo album manually.  Have them all loaded dynamically. You will not have to leave one of them and update the album will not require editing, just change the data file, you use that identifies the images and add images to the collection.
