Satellite A-L50-1CU-cpu/gpu issues

Hello everyone,

On my Satellite I have frequently igdkmd64.sys BSOD (Display driver stopped responding and has corrected). I know that the message, designated drivers intel, so at first I thought that I had to update them, but the rest of the problem.

Now, after a few months, I got notice that the problem appears only when my laptop is plugged ac.
When I am running on battery everything works fine.
The difference between the power and the battery is the mode of intel, in fact if I change the bios setting 'Frequency CPU' dynamic 'Dynamic' to 'Always low' I can run my laptop on the current without any problem.

I found a similar problem on some old toshiba laptops (https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...starts-anytime). In their case, it was a problem with the hardware with the NEC/CATHERINE capacitor.

So ultimately, I would like to know how to solve my problem cause I want to use all my 3.4 GHz processor.

Thanks (sorry for my bad English)

Hello

I wonder what graphics driver Intel did you use for the update?
Have you tried the driver posted on the Intel website?

The processor supports the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and you can get the latest driver 15.36.21.64.4222 of page Intel
https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Dow...7-8-8-1-64-bit

Here, you choose the win64_153621.zip (ZIP package)
This allows you to install the driver for the device would allow Manager using the "Advanced" installation procedure You will need the driver folder "unpacked" and the system would automatically take the drivers

The laptop has been preloaded with Win 8.1 System.

Have you changed anything in the configuration of the system?
Did you remove any Toshiba Software in the past?

Please check twice if the driver of Toshiba (to Win 8.1) system has been installed correctly!

If you have changed the system that is to say to Win 7, be sure to what Toshiba has added economic package for WIn 7 is installed!

  • Satellite A-L50-1CU-BT cannot find other BT devices

    Hello

Today, after months, it was the first time I tried to use bt to transfer files to a mobile phone: bt is active on the l50 and two different mobile phones (android and they are visible and can connect and transfer files an eachother).
But the L50 is discovery of devices in a loop "without end", without knowing the phones... and the phones are not the L50.

Are you sure that BT has been activated correctly?
    Please check in:

Before you do activate the option of BT in the settings of your device (smartphone).
Note: the use of Android smartphone, you must check the option that makes the smartphone visible to other devices.

In which case it won't work, I recommend to uninstall the Atheros BT filter driver package, then restart the system and install this package once more.

    Hello world

It seems an obvious questions, but... could you please tell me exactly the maximum resolution and Hz for the external monitor plugs on this model?
I need to buy a hi res ips monitor for the edition of photography, and I don't want to pay a lot for something useless...

    Marco

BTW, in the standard memory configuration, can I free memory locations? Or I need to remove the standard memory, substituting it with 2x8GB?

I don't have this model of laptop, but if it has video HDMI port means that your laptop can offer excellent output video in HD quality.
In my opinion, you should speak with your local dealer and explain the situation so I hope it can help you choose the best monitor for you. I can also imagine you can take your laptop with you and test it before you buy it.

According to specification for portable computer, your computer can be upgraded up to 32 GB (4 memory locations).
To upgrade RAM, you can use the memory modules to follow:
    2GB DDR3L - 1600 - PA5104U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

To be honest I do not understand your problem. You can control the volume level using the F9 and F10 keys or Windows volume mixer.

Reduce the volume level before you connect headphones and speakers and I hope that there will be no risk to your ears. ;)

  • iMac restarts after 5 minutes of the heavy load of CPU/GPU and noisy fan

    Hello

My iMac (late 2012 if I remember) restarts when under heavy load for a while.

I work a lot with Final Cut Pro X.

Whenever I have add clips in an event, Final Cut allows you to copy and then transcode and analyze the clips, and this task's CPU/GPU intensive (Final Cut Pro X uses OpenCL, where CPU/GPU). After a few seconds, the iMac fan begins to be really strong and seems to reach its maximum speed.

Then, after a few minutes of this heavy burden, the iMac simply restarts, and the fan slows down and stop. After the reboot, everything is back to normal, with the exception of the warning illustrated by Mac OS X, who said that the closure was not planned.

I'm sure that this behavior is not normal. I don't see why a computer should reboot/crash when under heavy load.

Note: you can also, to transcode some clips or movies I used the excellent software called Handbrake, using CPU only encoder ffmpeg, and I don't remember having accidents even if the CPU has been loaded and FAN running loud too. So maybe it has something to do with GPU?

How can I understand what is happening?

    Thank you very much.

  • USB 3.0 does not work on my Satellite Pro L50

    Hello boffins.

I have a problem with the driver for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller on my L50 (running Win7 64 bit).

I recently took my L50 Pro Satelite (PSKK3A-001001) to the repair shop because the blue ports were not running at speeds of USB 3.0 when I plugged a USB 3.0 compatible device (a WD 1 TB HARD drive). When I looked in the device tab "Display connection" Manager, HARD drive showed as connected to the ordinary C220 USB hub which is for USB.2.0. USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller has been inactive.

The technician in the repair shop said:

+ I tested your machine with a new installation of Windows 8 and have been able to achieve speeds to 180 MB/s of my FlashDrive USB 3.0 without problem, which indicates that it is a matter of faulty software. We can improve your Windows 8 machine free of charge if you prefer, but I'm unable to solve the problem in Windows 7. From what I can tell, and what you have experienced, no published 3.0 for Windows 7 USB drivers can recognize the 3 USB ports installed as a USB 3 connection. If you are wanting to stick with Windows 7, I can't guarantee that you will reach speeds of USB 3.0 by using these ports. +

It's not really good enough, Toshiba. Now, I bought this machine specifically with pre-installed Win7 (because Win8 is rubbish) that I wanted a machine Win7, including USB 3.0 ports. This machine has been published as such, having Win7 installed with 2 x USB 3.0 ports and 1 x USB 2.0. This is confirmed by the page of the specifications of Toshiba here: [http://www.mytoshiba.co.nz/support/computers/satellite/pro/l50/pskk3a-001001/specifications].

So, my question is this: why this machine is the drivers needed to run it as advertised (i.e. under Win7 with 2 ports USB 3.0 x and 1 x USB 2.0) and if there are drivers for this device available, where are they? I tried and tried the repairman (I guess) but I'm still without a driver to run my USB 3.0 clocked ports. I tried age for the files to be transferred between pending devices.

Maybe someone can help me find a driver that works or Toshiba will clean up their act and produce a.

But you have installed Intel USB3.0 driver 2.0.0.102 version, right?

  • Satellite Pro L50 - B - unable to connect at 5 GHz Wi - Fi

    Hello

I just bought a new Satellite Pro L50 - B and it is unable to connect to the wifi of my company 5 GHz network. It connects well to the 2.4 GHz network, but poor performance on network thaat there.

Is it possible to get the L50 - B to work in the 5 GHz range?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Frequency of 5 GHz is supported by 802.11 A and 802.11 N
But if the WLan module is not compatible 802.11 A, then the standard 802.11 N will operate at 2.4 Ghz

The question is: what are the standards WLan are supported by the integrated WLan module?

    Which module WLan is integrated?

  • Satellite X 200 - 21 d - motherboard issue

I heard that all X 200 models use the same motherboard, with the same equipment. Is this true?
IM asking, because some models have a SLI GPUS (8600 or 8700), this means that, in models not SLI, is an unused PCIEx connector?
I heard it too, you can replace the GPU of the other X 200, the machine. (it's the same thing.)
So my question is, for example, is it possible to remove the other X 200 machine 8700 M GT and place it in SLI not X 200? for example instead of 2nd HARD drive?

I know its crazy, but there should be the unused PCIEx connector, or?

    Hello

Regarding the replacement or the GPU upgrade on Toshiba laptops:

You should check out this article from Toshiba:

[Is it possible to upgrade the CPU/GPU of a Toshiba laptop | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm]

The article said that, in all cases, the GPU is soldered to the system board and cannot be traded.

  • Pavilion g6 - 2217cl: the HP Pavilion g6 - 2217cl RAM and CPU/GPU upgrade

    Hey there, I am looking to upgrade the RAM and CPU/GPU on my G6 Pavilion. Here's my current characteristics;

    Laptop model: HP Pavilion G6 - 2217cl

    Operating system: Windows 10 family (x 64)

Current RAM: 6 GB (used 2 slots)

CPU/GPU: AMD A8 - 4500 APU with Radeon HD graphics card

What are the possibilities should I upgrade?

If more information is needed, I'll be happy to provide.

It supports up to 8 GB of memory and the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

There is no video card to upgrade, but for the models of series AMD A video is contained in the processor itself and an upgrade of the processor also carries with it an upgrade for HD 7640 G HD 7660 G video. It's light but a bit noticeable and clock speed go from 2.8 ghz to 3.2 ghz, which is not huge but noticeable. Memory is a DDR3-1600 module, and you can replace your 2 gig with a 4 gig to spend 6 to 8.

Memory upgrade is as easy as... CPU/APU don't upgrade not so much.

  • Satellite P L50-B-1 1 - wireless and video questions

    Hello

Yesterday I bought a Satellite P L50-B-1 1. It came with Windows 8.1 preload. I shot this Windows 7 Ultimate.

However, I can not the wireless to work. I downloaded the drivers from the site of Toshiba, but so far without success.

The laptop has an AMD Radeon R7 M260 2 MB of graphics card in it, but I can't get that to work either. Yet once I downloaded the latest drivers from the AMD website, but no luck!

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Mike

    Hi again,

    Problem solved!

I did a search on ther two elements criminalised and discovered that the wireless card is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160. After google, I got a set of drivers and a right form of installation package Intel sorted the problem.

Once I got the laptop online, he then install updates 133! I guess one of those sorted the problem of videocard because I have now no yellow triangles on the Device Manager window :)

    All's well that ends well.
