Satellite A - Windows Setup cannot find a HARD disk

Hi all

I have a laptop which is a Toshiba A-Series and a few days ago, I had a problem on my laptop.

Then I decidec to format my laptop Toshiba using Windows XP CD then there arrived a few steps, it gives the following error message:

Setup did not find hard disk drivers installed in your computer.

Make sure that the hard disk drivers are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that no matter what disk - related hardware configuration is correct. It may be running a manufacturer - distribute diaagnostic installation program.

The installation program cannot believe. To quit Setup, press F3.

Could someone help me with this!

Concerning

Hello!

Have you looked for a bit in the forum for this problem? You will find a large number of threads.

However, you need the SATA drivers if you are installing your notebook computer with the Microsoft installation disc.
I put t know what laptop do you have but for laptops equipped with Intel chipset, you need Intel Storage Manager.

Download the drivers on the Web from Toshiba or Intel site, copy it to an external floppy drive and load it with F6 after booting from the CD.
Or create you your own installation with nLite [www.nliteos.com] disc.

Good bye

I try also with the USB-SATA external enclosure, but this without success, but I can see the HARD drive

    Somehow you lack driver SATA.

Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade.  You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.

  • Portege M400 - Windows XP cannot find the hard drive

    Hello

Ive got a Portege M400 who im looking to get a new one, I never had the Tablet XP CD so im trying to install using an XP Pro disk, but whenever I get no hard drive can be detected and I tried another disc of publishing house also.

Ive looked for SCSI / SATA drivers but can only find RAID drivers which are not good for me.

I hope someone can help me

    Thank you

    Hi wacksonjackson,

Why these RAID drivers are not good for you? Windows XP requires RAID drivers if your laptop is RAID controller and there is no other choice to install XP from a normal Windows XP disc. Then download the RAID drivers on the official website of Toshiba. Either you create a new installation with the RAID drivers disc using nLite freeware tool or you copy the drivers on an external USB FDD and load them during the installation of XP.

Also check similar topics here in the forum. You will find hundreds of similar topics on SATA and RAID drivers.

    Hello

The BIOS should recognize the new HARD disc without any installed SATA drivers!
The SATA drivers are needed only for Windows OS!

Please check the position of the jumper on the HARD drive. Usually, these riders are avaialbel for 3.5 HARD disk but some 2.5 drives hard also supports a rider where the master/slave/c-salt settings could be changed

  • Satellite P300 - 18 M - Windows Setup cannot continue

Hi, my first post here, hoping for any help.

I recently bought a Satellite P300 - 18 M, from an independent retailer with no return policy. good on the PC is a brand new, sealed, etc and I get the Toshiba standard warranty.
When I do the initial installation I received a message all in settng upward of Windows Vista Home "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows click on 'OK' to restart the computer announced then rstart installation. »
I tried a few times more full-time catering and the third HARD drive it installed, but...
either he starts, I get to the password screen then all invent locks, the mouse pointer freezes then the screen becomes full of horizontal lines.

    or

I've had a few times in windows for a few minutes (2-5 minutes) then the mouse pointer freezes, 3 seconds later the entire screen is full of horizontal lines, everything locked can only turn off the coast.
Toshiba software error, so no warranty claim and advised that I buy the DVD (£29.90) that I ordered it, on a delivery of 14 days of recovery.

Any other help or suggestions much appreciated as im not confident of this DVD, being a brand new sealed unit, why corript of Vista in the first place.

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

    Hello

In my view, that the P300 is equipped with the ability to drive HARD recovery. This means that you could restore the operating system of the image that is stored on the HARD drive.
To do this, you will need to power the laptop and must press the F8 key.

A start menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then, you must choose the option called Toshiba HDD recover or something like that. It should be the last option.
This procedure helps you reinstall Vista again.
This facility could be that you can burn the own recovery disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

But if the recovery of HARD drive does not work you will need to use your orderly recovery DVDs and have to restore it again.
If the laptop will not properly work after using Recovery then DVDs I recommend to contact the ASP again and to explain the whole story.

    Good luck

  • "Setup cannot find not all hard disks" on Dell PERC 6/1 RAID controller-supported?

Hi team - I have a Dell R710 (physical host) PE server that uses the Dell PERC RAID controller 6/1.  Windows Server 2008 x 64 is the host operating system.  VMW Server 2.02 installs and works very well, and I need to install W2K8 x 32 (guest) server configuration, but windows can't see the virtual disk with the same error "Setup cannot find not all hard disks", you get the installation on Windows XP Home edition- but the documentation does not say it's controller RAID is not taken in charge should be... any ideas?

This is not a problem of the underlying RAID/hardware controller.

Virtual MACHINE on VMware Server just to see the virtual hardware that you have configured when creating the virtual machine, or through the settings.

Be sure to select the correct target OS when you create a virtual machine. This configures the disk controller HARD virtual appropriate, which should be supported on the OS installation media.

If you have selected the right OS and still have problems, please post the vmx file.

  • P200-rt7 but Win XP Setup cannot find hard drive

Hi, try to install xp on my Toshiba p200-rt7 and xp says it cannot find my hard drive. If I launch the install of vista dvd he finds it so I think I need to hit F6 during the xp installation and select "third-party drivers? If Yes, where can I get these drivers? If anyone can help?

    Thank you

Installing a version commercial (street copy) of Windows XP on a Toshiba Vista laptop.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Step 1: Prepare the BIOS
-Go to section Support/Drivers on the Toshiba site and look for your model of Toshiba
-If your phone has a separate version of BIOS for XP and Vista, download the BIOS XP and run it in Windows.
-If you cannot start Windows, you can update the BIOS after installing XP.

Step 2: Enable SATA Compatibility Mode in the BIOS
-If installing XP cannot detect SATA drive, enable SATA Compatibility Mode in BIOS if this option is available and install XP.

Step 3: Install XP using a floppy with the SATA drivers
-If SATA compatibility mode is not available, you must use the SATA drivers diskette during installation of XP. Follow these steps:

    (1) Download driver Windows XP SATA F6 on the site of Toshiba Support/downloads.
If a single SATA/AHCI F6 driver is unavailable, download and extract the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver for XP in a temporary folder.
The Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver package must contain some files under the folder "F6flpy". For example: C:\temp\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\F6flpy\ICH8M_32bit
Choose the right folder. For example: ICH8M_32bit for a Chipset of Intel ICH8 during installation of Windows XP 32-bit.

    (2) copy these files (iastor.inf, etc.) on a blank diskette. The files must reside in the root directory of the floppy disk.
    For example: A:\iastor.inf, A:\iaahci.inf, etc...

    (3) connect a Toshiba USB floppy drive to the Toshiba laptop. (some non - Toshiba USB Floppy Drives may not work correctly during the installation of XP)

    (4) (4) demarrer start from the Windows XP CD, start the installation and make sure that your floppy with the drivers is inserted into the floppy USB drive.

    (5) for the XP installation invites you to press F6 to install a storage driver, immediately press F6.

    (6) for installing XP you invites to select a SATA driver, select the appropriate driver and continue.
    For example: ICH7M Intel(r) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller, Intel(r) ICH8M 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller

    (7) keep the attached floppy drive and floppy disk inserted XP has not completed its installation.
Do not partition or format the hard drive during the installation of XP. The diskette SATA drivers are copied and stored on the hard drive during the installation of XP.

  • Try to install Windows XP but don't get a message: Setup cannot find a previous version of Windows installed on the computer.

    Install XP instead of Vista

I tried to install XP in my laptop ASUS PRO31jr which currently has Vista Home Premium installed.  I updated the BIOS first and changed the boot on CD/DVD order.  Disk load bunch of drivers, then when it gets to the installation, said he cannot find a previous version of windows installed on the computer and calls for an XP Home edition (full version), or a CD of XP Professional (full version).  The CD I have is XP Professional Academic Edition version 2002.  RHE booklet supplied with the disc seems to indicate that this is the full version, and I successfully used to clean install on XP.  Is the drive of my problem?  I would appreciate a difinative answer if anybody out there knows for sure.  Goodwich.

If the message "Setup cannot find a previous version of Windows installed on the computer", you have an upgrade version that requires Windows XP Home Edition installation.

  • XP Setup cannot find hard drives

Hello. I'm new to VMware and decided to download and install ESX 3.5 on an HP XW6200. Installed ok but I tried to install my first server VM. a XP sp3 ISO I have. I have it configured with one processor, 256 MB of RAM and 30 GB BusLogic emulated disk VM. I have started the installation but received an error message that windows did not find a hard drive to install the operating system. I found an article at the bottom of the knowledge to repoint the floopy drive to a file called vmscsi - 1.2.0.4. Done, but still not find a disc. Rebooted and you press F6. When it comes to floopy I press on enter but it doesn't seem to find, said and and invites me to support on enter agin fto find disks. Help? Not sure where I am going wrong? Thank you.

You make the right choice by pressing F6 at the start. If she does not see the disk then make sure that it is configured to connect to the power on and you have chosen the right floppy image. Make sure that it is not trying to boot to the floppy disk by going into the BIOS of the virtual machines and change the boot order or by pressing "Esc" at startup which gives a one-time boot menu so that you can start your ISO image / CD of XP. Good luck!
