Satellite A10 - does not start correctly

I have a Satellite A10 and I can't start even last known good configuration or in safe mode does not work and if it starts it will take much time but a blue screen appears and indicates that an error has occurred and prevent any damage on the hard disk.
I put in the recovery cd, but I do not have the cause of xp, it is said start windows 98 but im on a xp pro I got when I bought the laptop. So, if any of it can help?

If you are unable to boot from your hard drive, then your only other option will be to boot from a CD-ROM.

Most of the commercially available backup utilities (Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image, etc.) include such a bootable CD. Supplied with your laptop product recovery CD is very probably a stripped down version of Norton Ghost, which is specifically designed to format your hard drive and then restore an image of 'Phantom' of the original OEM software.

It is quite possible for your hard drive to be damaged and have still LED lights when it is accessed. The damage might be the physical mechanism of the player, or the lining of the surface of the platters etc.. A CD bootable one of backup utilities will probably include a version of CHKDSK, you can run to test the integrity of your hard drive. Norton, for example, include a copy of Disk Doctor.

If you have a copy of the original Windows installation CD, you can boot from that in the recovery console and try to repair what is damaged on your hard drive, assuming that the problem is that the damaged or missing files. In principle, you can use the XP Home Edition CD to do this only if the damaged files are not specific to XP Pro to which cases they will not on HE drive.

    Have you tested if the laptop could properly initialize without the new inserted RAM?

    Sorry if this is a re-post, but I couldn't find any information.

    Basically, I went to turn on my computer laptop thisarvo and the led lights up and stays on, the HARD Drive LED lights for a second and the fan starts a second but then the laptop is right there with a white screen and the power light on.

    I managed to get it started once and restored to factory settings. Stop it, went to restart and its still doing the same thing.

    Any help will be much apreciated.

    Hmm... I think it sounds like a hardware malfunction and Windows installation should not affect the start-up of the laptop. Right now equipment is checked and starts and it has nothing to do with the version of Windows installed.

    I'm having a problem with my Satellite 2450 where it is not initialize properly - is stuck in the screen of Windows XP (just continues to scroll through and hangs there).
    I can boot into safe mode.
    Have not had any other problems with it - no errors, do not have installed/uninstalled anything recently.

    Any ideas what could cause this problem?
    Do you think I should use the recovery disk to reinstall the OS? Anything less drastic I can try?

    Usually, if the laptop does not start correctly in normal mode, but only in SafeMode because some drivers or / and software applications are false or defective.
    In this case, the recovery procedure should solve this problem.
    If you n t have the Toshiba Recovery CD, you can install from the original CD of Microsoft's operating system, and then you can try to install stuff together from Toshiba (driver, tools)
    These software, you will find on the page of the Toshiba driver.

  • Satellite A350 does not start

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A350 (about a year and a half) who does not start correctly. This has happened after that the laptop was left on until the battery has failed. The button of the keyboard and the power LED lights up, but the screen stays black when I try to turn it on. I use Windows Vista.

    The machine continues usually to make a sound whirring for a few seconds before it stops making noise (the fan and the HD). The screen flickers sometimes a lighter black on a screen for less than a second. In addition, the cooling fan has sometimes continued to operate after you stop all the rest.

    Another problem is that when if it is turn on and go to the Toshiba screen, odd lines will fade to the screen, and finally the screen eventually white/blue.     I think the only way to make your system works correctly again is to restore with the cdrom of onboard catering. Simply manage to save your data from your hard drive (the best way would be to put your machine's HARD drive in a USB - HDD enclosure and copy important data on another computer), then wipe the system completely off you hdd.

    I have the Satellite Pro P300 in front of me. I use it almost 4 weeks now and I press the Start button, very gently and keep it down to the second or two and laptop starts fine everytime I want to start it.

    Do not press the button quickly several times but slowly and keep it down for a second or two.

    Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive

    Make sure that you have a current backup before continuing.

    HD recovery start:

    Restart the computer after the ring, press in and hold the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen to appear.

    Repair

    When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar... If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then re-run first aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

    Reinstall OS X: Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

    Note : You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest to use Ethernet if possible because it's three times faster than Wi - Fi and more reliable.

    LIghtroom 6a fonctionnee om my 10 (x 64) of Windows without problem for 6 months. After the installation of a slide (CyberViewX) scanner and a regular update to Win 10 that occurred automatically when closing down the computer, the 6 Lightroom does not start correctly since I restarted the computer.     There was a lock by the catalog file, and I deleted this file. I also tried all the tricks LR running as an administrator and assign full privileges for all users of my photo file.

    The only thing I have not tried is to uninstall and reinstall the whole LR6, but I have a lot of photos and work so I hesitate to do this without knowing that it is necessary and if sure that I can get everything back in order with the old catalog and all restored.     You suggest to choose the option to create a catalog and give it the name once you get the pictures folder window, and then choose create.

    This would create a new catalog.

    check if it opens the new catalog, and it passes under the background processes in the Task Manager.

    If it does not, then you need to reinstall Lightroom program and it would not affect your changes as changes are stored in the catalogues and catalogues remain it is same when the resettlement.

    You can start your laptop in safe mode? This means that if you press the F8 key before Windows starts and you choose Safe mode can you start Windows?

    If this isn't the case I think that it s something wrong with your Windows installation and that's why you need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings.
