Satellite A100-033: I disabled the touchpad and now Fn + F9 won't allow

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 running Vista Home Basic. I use especially the laptop as a desktop replacement, and I do not like use the touchpad I disabled it, and instead, I use an external mouse via a USB port.

I don't know if I disabled the touch pad by pressing Fn + F9 or by any other means (if it was by some other means that I forgot what it was). Recently, I wanted to re-enable the touchpad so that I could use the laptop outside the home. However, I found that by pressing Fn and F9 don't re - not allow the touchpad and I now can't use the touch pad at all.

If I go into the properties of the mouse (in Control Panel), that tells me that my synaptics pointing device is enabled. If I go into Device Manager and look at 'mouse', I thought that my touchpad works properly.

All this makes me suspect that the problem is not a hardware failure, but I changed a few settings, so that my touchpad is permanently disabled until I change the setting back to its original state.

Help!

Hello

One of the solutions would be a system restore you could try to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Perhaps that would help reactivate the touchpad.

Conversely, you can try to reinstall the drivers for the Touchpad firstly I would recommend removing it from the Device Manager and then after restarting, you can try reinstalling the drivers downloaded!

I would appreciate any comments from you

Good bye

  • Satellite A100-906: Question on the processor and HARD drive temperature

    Hey guys,.

I want to ask u for the level of normal temperature of this laptop? I want to know the temperature of the CPU (1,2) and the temperature of the HARD drive, because I think that my laptop is overheating and it is a problem for me :/ (my temperature is now around 50 for the 2 hearts and nearly 40 for hard disk) Is this ok or? Ty ;)

    Hello

Believe me, the 50 degrees C for the CPU and C 40 degrees for the disk HARD is a normal temperature! It's rare!
On my laptop the CPU temperature increases up to 60 degrees C if no application works.

But be aware that the temperature varies.
If you run different applications on the laptop, the performance of the processor will be increased and the temperature rises.
    That is a fact.

There is nothing wrong GUY ;)

2.), you must know that not all readers are compatible and supported on the laptop. The best way is to contact Toshiba service partner in your country if you wish to order the compatible reader. It is important because of the csel/slave/master settings.

  • How to disable the touchpad on my Tecra M10 - 10H?

I just want to know if it is possible to disable the touchpad and is so, how, please?

What I tried (which did not work):

    1. by pressing Fn + F9.

    2. go to "Mouse properties" and looking for an option to disable the touchpad it.

After reading your ad, I must say that we don't know anything about your laptop.
What operating system do you use?
FN keys work or not in general?
Is the driver for the touchpad that is installed or not?

In my opinion, you must visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and install driver touchpad and additional package from Toshiba. After making this check please if FN + F9 works. If this isn't the case, you should be able to disable touchpad in the mouse properties. After installation of the Synaptics driver new additional tab will be added to the device settings, and you will find option toggle.

The use of this key combination takes about 1 sec, maybe 1.5 sec ;)

  • V3 772G - you can disable the touchpad?

I think about the order of this machine from NewEgg. This is 1099 now. I write code for a living, and usually use a mouse. I would like to be able to disable the touchpad. I know that some keyboards allow this. All photos I have seen that I have not been able to find out if there is a keyboard shortcut to do this on the V3 series G 772. I saw the posts here that other keyboards has this option but nothing I could find specific to this series of laptops. I know that they have no backlight and also don't sport the caps-lock/num-lock lights. I can live with that, but the touchpad function is little need for me about 70% of my use.

Thank you for any information you can give.

Yes, you can disable the touchpad. Fn + F7 keys disable it. But you should be aware that the device you want to buy has a few hardware problems. Currently, there is no solution to prevent flickering display, if the brightness level is lower than 70-100%. There are other issues, mainly stability. You should read this forum before buying.

  • How * disable * the touchpad power function?

Hi, I have a craving dv7 and it has a function whereby if you press twice on the left upper corner of the touchpad, it switches it on or off.

I want to DISABLE this feature, because I'm constantly tripping by accident in the normal conditions of use and so am always disable the touchpad and have to tap twice again to reactivate.

I looked online and the documentation but have found no way to disable this feature.  Does anyone know how?

    THX,

    Chris

FYI, I contacted HP Support and they sent me the following, which tells how do.

If it please click on the links below and follow the steps mentioned in the Web page under the section adjust single and double tapping.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03523373

Unlike in the image settings window the touchpad in the link above, the settings window of the touchpad on the dv7 want is not an expandable tree for tapping settings, but it has an icon of the gear to the right that if clicked, opens another window of dialogue that has a checkbox to enable/disable this feature.

The cursor moves because you accidentally brush your hand against it
    while typing.

With the help of a mouse is rather a much better choice as far as I'm concerned.
That's what I do. You can disable the cursor, but you don't need to do
    to use a mouse.

Sorry, I of course meant "...". You can turn off the touchpad... »
