  Satellite A100-036 supports a LAN Intel Ekron-R 82562GZ chip.

  The European driver Toshiba page provides all the necessary drivers and tools for XP.
  Two different LAN drivers are available on this page!

  The Intel LAN v. 8.0.43.0 driver supports standard LAN Pro100
  The Intel LAN v. 9.2.24 driver supports standard LAN Pro1000

  Try them both!

• Increasing memory Satellite A100-036

  I would like to increase the memory of my Satellite A100-036 (psaan), as 1 GB appears to be insufficient to run Vista. The problem is, I can't know which would support my A100. Now I have 512 x 2 Samsung DDR2 (533). I'm sure than 1x2GB (DDR2, 533) would be OK, but what about more? Say, 2x2gb?

  First of all, I'm not sure if chip 1x2GB would be supported by my A100. Any ideas?

  Secondly, I read somewhere that 4 GB would be supported by my Intel 945 chipset, but there is no point in it I do not have a 64-bit, 32-bit only supported ca.3.2 GB operating system. If that's true, I would be able to install 1 GB + 2 GB (3 GB total) and use it effectively? Are there recommendations on the combination of different volumes of memory chips (such as 2 GB and 512 MB)? Maybe it is better to have similar in volume?

  And one more thing: don't know if the chipset supports the faster memory (more than 553). And can I combine 553 and sth faster?

  I don't know, but your machine must be able to handle a maximum memory expansion up to 2GB. If you install more then it may happen that the machine either does not or simply memory another beyond 2 GB could not properly acknowledged and your machine breaks down.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE with windows visa Home Basic edition.
  Now for 15-20 days I am facing a strange problem. The screen of the laptop emits a sometimes (not necessarily every time) and then when the frequency increases the display turns off automatically!

  Hi Julie,.

  It sounds as if something is harming your graphics driver causing the display to turn off. If the problem occurs only when you use certain applications or only started after installing a new application you may need to restore your system to a restore point before new applications have been installed. As a test, you can try to start your system in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

  I also recommend that you re-install your graphics drivers to see if it improves the problem.

  Other possibilities are that your graphics chip is a failure or overheating causing this problem in which case you have to return your laptop to a Service approved for the additional diagnostic agent.

  My last thought is that you may have a problem with the inverter FL (the component that provides the lighting of your LCD screen). Check, when the screen turns off, if you can still see a residual image on the screen. If yes then the FL inverter is definitely at fault.

  Following an encouraging response to a question from the forum, I replaced the original 60 G hard drive in my Toshiba Satellite A100-033 PSAANE with a 500 G drive.
  All right, except that I have more "Stereo Mix Realtek High Definition Audio" in the recording tab in the audio in the control panel.
  This means that I can't record any sound at all, if I try to capture sound, for example to help start Video Capture Software from NCH.

  If I replace the original 60G drive, stereo mix Realtek is there and I can record OK. If I plug my external sound card, I can record the sound with it. If (in my new 500G drive), I look in Device Manager in the Control Panel, Realtek High Definition Audio is listed under game controllers & sound video. Thus, it seems that the correct driver is correct. But somehow, it is not recognized under sound in the Control Panel, and it cannot be used by software that requires it.

  This means that, in most cases you cannot use it as part of other versions of Windows.

  My adapter was defective. The cable broke and similar high-pitch whistles was so noticeable.
  I replaced the adapter because as Akuma said already this device uses high voltage and shouldn't t serve if she s defective!

  If you have the Toshiba recovery disc in the past, you can use it as part of the new HARD drive. The Toshiba Recovery disk would fix the laptop back to factory settings, which means that you have installed Windows system, Toshiba drivers and additional software.

  Go to the page of the Toshiba UE driver and download the driver for the Synaptics touchpad. Install the touchpad driver and reboot the laptop. Usually, this should solve your problem.

  It's strange. Usually the BT should work if the BT stack has been installed correctly. Please note that you must activate the BT using the fn (FN + F8). This combination turns on and the WiFi also. So make sure you did it correctly.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 785 PSAANE and its configurations are as follows:

  1.87 C2D Ghz, 1 GB of Ram (512 + 512), Windows Vista Basic, CD/DVD read/write...

  Question: Its been long enough, I m facing some problem with my optical drive. Whenever I insert a CD that is originally made by any company, it works fine. At the time when I insert a CD that is personally burned with any normal CD data / engraver of DVD or CD that have been created previously by the same laptop mentioned above, its been interpreted as a blank disc. The data on the drive are not displayed.

  For example: lets say if I insert a cd of the software as my webcam cd or cd of my printer they can be read normally and work very well. But at the point where I have to enter any cd that was burned by me that contains my personal files, it is read as a blank disc.

  This problem does not exist with any of the DVDs. that is not serious every dvd I insert either being a software normal dvd or one that is burned as a given personal dvd, everything works fine and all the data DVD can be read.

  I tried to reinstall the driver, I tried to reformat my laptop using the supplied with the notebook Toshiba Recovery CD, but the problem persists.

  Between a few months ago, I tried to do a few tweak, as firstly I have insert the cd in the drive and then turn off the reader of cd and then allowing it once again would actually read the cd. But after a few tries, it also stopped working.

  Now I have really no idea what should I do to get my CD to work normally.

  To be honest, I never heard A785 Satellite.
  You should check the model number again, as wrote Akuma. It would be important to know.

  But in General if you have the same problems after using the Toshiba Recovery disk it seems to be a bad material work because the recovery disc can restore the factory settings.
