Satellite A100/105 - position of the microphone
Then got a card replacement mother, this one has a mic on it slot so I bought the micro (small black round thing on a short wire with a 2-pole plug on the end), where the microphone actually sit?
I mean is as trendy and in the circumference of where the cable reached there is nothing obvious to the microphone to sit, surely it can just fly over the motherboard?
As much as I know this old models don't were not delivered with microphone, so I put t understand how you got the motherboard with microphone. A few years ago Toshiba started offering webcam equipped laptop computers and only models with built in webcammer had built in microphone.
I have ned to help. My Satellite A100 will not charge the battery. He works the power adaptor for the led indicates charging status, battery shows 1% of loading tatus information, but none does change - no loading any time. When disconnected everything just stops off like normal desktop.
I've already put battery in and out, made upgrades to the antivir software, makes Toshiba controls, tests, but what ever he did did not any change. If there is no way for restoration of battery how to check what the problem is I have no second battery or AC I can always buy new batttery but I don't know if the old one is broken and weather new would work properly?
I agree with the user above. The battery can be charged only up to 500 times, and after that, it must be replaced. I think it's the case now, I mean that everything works correctly on the AC adapter so I think that the battery must be the reason for this.
By the way: you can buy a new battery to an authorized service provider. ;)
Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 499 PSAA9E.
I formatted my laptop and installed XP with SP3. I downloaded and installed the drivers (in the right order) for this OS of the toshiba - Europe.com and everything is going well except Fn + F8. It is assumed that this combination has toggle Wifi & Bluetooth. When I switch side 'off' position and I press the keys, appears a message saying that I should switch to position 'on' but when I switch lateral position 'on' and I press Fn + F8 it does nothing.
If I want to disable the wi - fi I have to do it with other methods: the function key does not work correctly.
Thanks for the advice (and sorry for my English).
When the WLAN switch is on orange LED is also on?
You can scan area available networks?
Have you tried to use the WLAN without using FN + F8?
I have Toshiba Satellite A100 (PSAAR) and the installation of VAP (value added Package) of the site Web of Support from Toshiba, I get error ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE and then the installation ends.
The proposed solution is to do a BIOS update, and it did not work for me, as I said in the topic (I've updated with bios-20071126124517, which is the package recommended for my laptop model). I use Vista 64 bit in the way, and I try to install VAP to eliminate the unknown hit-and-run driver (TOS1901 if I'm not mistaken) in Device Manager. I worked on this problem for a few days now and I'm really tired, so I need your help as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance...
> I'm using 64-bit Vista by the way
Have you tried to install the VAP 32 bit on 64 bit Vista?
If Yes, then I m afraid it won't work, and I guess this is the reason why this error message appears during the installation procedure
I have the Toshiba Satellite A100 model.
My speakers do not sound right.
Left speaker does not work.
They give a crackling.
Audio, video, doesn't sound right.
Whenever I play a song it gives a feeling of speakers are blasted.
When I turn the volume down they sound a little ok.
I need to replace speakers or should I update the drivers?
After reading your ad, I think the speakers are defective and must be replaced.
You can try to change some sound settings to see if something will change.
In any case, I think driver has nothing to do with it and you need new speakers.
Have you tested with headset or headphones? How does it work?
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - it came with Vista - I carefully cleaned the HARD drive and installed XP - I deleted the partitions etc. and started with a HDD in a perfect state of cleanliness.
Then, I downloaded all Toshiba drivers that are available for my model.
When I close the lid it still fully powered - there is no option to go into sleep mode, Hibernate etc in the options of "close cover" - the only option is the "status quo".
How can I get the standby extended/standby/power options back?
Your help would be appreciated
Did you installed Toshiba Power Saver utility?
These options that you can find.
I have a laptop Satellite A100-570. I bought this in July antiques.
Just open the laptop, not even connect to the internet it manages reduce my speed on broadband.
I know this because I'm doing a test of speed before and after the opening of the laptop using my PC.
Computer laptop & PC are not yet in the same room!
The wireless network connection is disabled, disabled 1394 connection and only LAN OK.
(I use a BT Homehub, connected to my PC).
My question is: how a laptop computer that is not on the internet brings to BB speeds.
the laptop is o.k. otherwise.
Any help appreciated.
To be honest, the whole story is a little understandable and strange for me.
Your laptop is connected to the router with a LAN cable or what?
Sorry but I don't quite understand you. What is the speed with and without a cell phone?
By the way: did you clean install of the OS before you start using this laptop?
I own a satellite A100-383 (PSAARE) that does not start when the battery is totally empty, or if I leave without the battery of the day to the next. The battery will charge not façade is and all the lights are off. I should always have a load on my battery and don't let not unplugged more than 2 days.
If for some reason, my battery was completely empty, Plug and unplug the power supply from the wall outlet would make all the lights increase and charge the battery again.
Unfortunately, I went on vacation and I forgot my pc unplugged and it does not charge or turn on. ? The headlights are off. Tried my dear old method to connect the unit several times with battery and without it with no luck... I could see a connection for a second or two, but I wasn't fast enough to plug in and they are off.
I would be so grateful to you all if you give me a help to put it on my pc. Once I have it on the load and back I'll buy a new battery for sure.
I look forward to reading your advice.
Thank you all in advance!

Thanks for the comments. I just want to say that you should buy high quality and Toshiba of origin of the product and not a cheap no. product name.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE. Its a product abandoned now :-( I wonder if I can connect this laptop with the Sony Bravia LED TV via HDMI cable.
I'm not able to find if the laptop is compatible for it.
Please help me a way to find a solution to connect the led TV and how to do it? Please also help with the cables needed for the same thing.
Sorry guys, I'm quite naïve HDMI company.
Thanks for all the help,
What do not know exactly?
The laptop has only VGA and S-Video output port but no HDMI port. So that you can t connect the laptop to the TV because you can t connect the HDMI cable to your computer.
If your TV is VGA or S-video port, you can use this cable. After the connection to the TV, press the key combination FN + F5 to switch between monitors.
I have the Satellite A100-811. Part number: PSAA8E-0YT026G3, I want to know the motherboard model and price to buy.
Why you want to know the reference number of the motherboard? You can buy a new, authorized service and they can tell you how expensive it is.
Don t forget that the laptop parts are specific designed for a series and that means t, you can choose between different motherboards as on desktop computers.
Hi, if someone can help me, a lot of tanks!
I want drivers for my Satellite A100-110 (100-PSAA9N) new, but for 64-bit operating systems!
To Toshiba support there are drivers for 32-bit versions, but there is no drivers for the 64 bit version of windows Vista and Windows XP x 64 edition. I can't find it!
Mainly, I want video drivers for my nVidia GeForce Go 7300 graphics card, but for 64-bit operating systems! (Or in the nVidia support!)
Thank you very much!!
64-bit drivers are not available, and why you can't find them. At present, no one can say with certainty when the drivers will be available. :(
I installed Win7 on my Satellite A100-590 (PSAA9E-03Z00QGR) today. Everything works fine except for the display drivers.
I downloaded the drivers win7/32 bit here: [here | http://at.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=AT&BV_UseBVCook = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 115970 ie] but when I try to install, extract the files and then nothing happens.
Does anyone else have this problem or even better a solution? all other drivers will work on this laptop?
Edit: the graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon X 1600
Extract the files in a new folder created. Open it and use setup.exe.
What happens when you start it manually using setup.exe?
Alternatively, you can try to start the installation in the Bin folder.
I recently bought the captioned Toshiba device. When buying has been marked as 'new' on the www.mytoshiba.ru site, and as has been posted on https://ru.computers.toshiba-europe.com in the category of standard product.
Today, to my disappointment, I discovered that this laptop was removed "out of production" category.
What is the reason to remove a laptop computer on day of production?
I can answer this question directly to the representative office of Toshiba for the Russia and CIS, and how can I do?
What are the addresses (postal and electronic) for Toshiba CIS and Repoffice of Russia?
Maybe a few sets of mobile phones are produced in the decrease in the number of tips. If you see the Satellite A100 series there are many different models. It starts with A100-110 and ends with A100-998. I'm sure that all of them is not available in every country in the EU.
In my opinion you do not make a lot of investigation and size your time, just check out the next best model, you can buy. I put t know the right address for you, but try under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Insights & information > Inside Toshiba > Contact Toshiba. The representative capacity, choose your country.
Can you guys help me. I have the Satellite A100-237
I would like to buy a new HARD drive (250 GB or 320).
What is the largest HARD drive can I install in this laptop? I couldn't find any info about it.
Thanks for your help.
The point is that there are no details or info on HARD drive sizes compatible max.
If we can only speculate.
Is the laptop seems to support SATA hard drives and in my opinion one 250 GB or more should work.
But this is only a personal opinion, and it would be very interesting to know if a HDD 320 would work too.
Please post some comments after you have upgraded the HARD drive.
See you soon
I had a virus, so I formatted my computer, a Satellite A100-999. After I did, I was going to install Windows Vista, but I never could, because they ask my HDD password and I don't know what password it is that, I don't see it anywhere. My computer has been installed in the store, I only have a bootable disc, they gave me.
My question is: How can I recover my HDD password? Is it possible? I can boot the system in any other way?
It of not possible recovery or removes the HARD drive password. An ASP peut t for this too.
Sorry, but in this case, you need a new HARD drive. There's no other way.
