My computer is an A100-201 and its dead end hibernation. I read the advice others have written, but I can't get it back to normal. He was weak in power then start to Hibernate / hibernation. by pressing the key power dosen't work I need help. Please

Hi girl

A friend of mine called me yesterday because he noticed the same issue. After awakening, he saw just a blue strip instead of the task bar and the screen was black.

Only solution was to press the POWER button and hold for a few seconds. On this way, you make your laptop to SWITCH OFF. Laptop and press the power button again will start as usual. After reboot, everything will be OK again.

Please do the same. If you have more problems to write again.

Good luck!

    Hello

I want to install Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 on my laptop (Satellite A100-201). I ran the upgrade of Windows tool that tells me that my Toshiba Configfree (version 5.90.07) will have to be uninstalled before upgrade and that it would not be able to be reinstalled after installing Windows 7... What is the Configfree, do I need for my laptop to do something 'special '?

Thanks in advance for your help

ConfigFree is tool designed by Toshiba and it's an interesting tool for monitoring the network. This tool runs in the background and send you all the information about the network connectivity. If there is a problem this tool offers solutions that can help you fix connectivity LAN/WLAN/BT.

To be honest you do not have this tool and if you didn't use it in the past you will he miss any.

  • Satellite A100-201 touchpad problems

I searched through the forums and many people have had problems with the touchpad, but nobody seems to have quite the same problem, as I have! If this has been asked to answer also my apologies, but I can't!

I have a Satellite A100-201 with a 'Tablet' (as described by the technique of the Toshiba product - no mention if it comes to Synaptics or Alps, or anything else, is not that it would mean anything for me anyway. It is certainly NOT a dual pad that turns on with the blue buttons, etc.)

Have had the laptop for over a year, and I got it all the time I have a problem where 'sometimes' function on the touchpad scroll bar doesn't work, all on his own. Sometimes I turn on the computer and it works fine, sometimes not. The same goes for the service where you tap the top right of the button and the narrowings of the active window (don't know what this is called). There seems to be no reason for this, I find the scrolling feature really useful. The rest of the touchpad functions works very well.

I don't know if it's to do with drivers as I am not computer-oriented (I can use one for day to day stuff, but that's all) or upgrades of windows as no one else mentioned on another thread.

If anyone has any idea how I can:

    (a) turn back ON the scrolling feature and

    (b) set it so it is permanently under voltage I would be really grateful!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

do you have challenged yourself with synaptics/Alps touchpad Control Center / (whateveryourtouchpadsmanufactureris) and checked the settings?

As far as I know are these touchpads really complicated when you use them, but * more * usable after setting the key to touch about the sensitivity options, etc...
You can configure almost the entire touchpad area to adapt to your needs...

Please, check the settings and make sure that your keyboard is configured correctly.

  • Activation TV changes affect the Satellite A100-201 display resolution

I have a Satellite A100-201 with graphics card intel 945 GM and whenever I have activate tv out (clone) the resolution on the laptop lcd is reduced. A box appears saying "If I do not answer within 15 seconds, then the setting will return", but it's not - the setting is applied without worrying.

Change the setting back manually to the simple screen does not restore the previous screen resolution, I have to restore the system.

    Any ideas what's happening?

I think that it s not a hardware problem, but only a bad setting in the properties of the graphics card.
The properties of the graphics card and access the advanced option. On the general tab, you will find options for compatibility:
You should choose the option: apply the new display settings without restarting

In my opinion it should solve you problem ;)

  • Satellite A100: How do I enable SATA NATIVE mode

Hello, my laptop Satellite A100 PSAA9 and the southbridge is an ICH7M
I put an SSD in my laptop and the drive controller is locked-> Ultra DMA 6 IDE compatible mode.
I would switch to the native SATA-1 to increase the bandwidth (from 110 MB/s-150), but I can't find any setting so that, in the last BIOS 6.00

I think that maybe in the past, Toshiba has enable this feature, but I suppose they might have turned it off for beginners who don't know how to install the SATA drivers during the installation of Windows.

I found Toshiba BIOS database, but it is locked by a password.
I'm willing to test any BIOS that could re - enable native SATA mode

+ The message was edited: link has been removed - unauthorized +.

    Hello

You need the native SATA controller?

The laptop was equipped with a controller SATA interface supports the Serial ATA Rev. 1. 0a.

Some laptop models take a BIOS that contains a SATA mode option.
This option can be changed on AHCI or in compatibility mode.

But as far as I know a100 BIOS does not contain these settings

I tried to change the settings for tye on the Toshiba powersaver, but it still happens...

    can anyone help?

  • Satellite A100-914 - stop after 10 minutes on

    Satellite A100-914 - Vista Home 32-bit edition

For some time, whenever I turn on the computer it off after 10 minutes. Usually I restarted and then everything was ok, but these days, it seems to stop several times.

In my screen displays the blue screen saying on: driver_power_state_failure...

I've updated to Vista, a patch which should solve this problem, but the problem of still images.

I have also updated the Bios of Toshiba, and then I get a Warner 0251 checksum bad - default configuration used.

I also have problems with superfetch and search for host when I connect to the internet... but it is perhaps another question...

    Thanks in advance
    Daniel

    Hello

    What to say...

    Regarding the automatically close downs;
For me, it looks a bit like overheating. Maybe you should check if the temperature is not too high and check if the cooling modules are working properly and it can cool the laptop properly. Sometimes the dust inside the laptop could have a bad influence on cooling.

Regarding the system BIOS checksum bad - default configuration used:
Try to access the BIOS and set the default BIOS settings. Then save the changes and restart the laptop.

    Regarding the MS patch:
I found this Microsoft Knowledgebase document:
The STOP Error Messages troubleshooting 0x0000009F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/246243

It is said that this problem occurs when drivers do not properly handle power state transition requests.
The error message most often occurs during one of the following actions:
    -Closing
-Suspension or out of standby mode
    -Suspension or out of hibernation

Check solution proposals in the document of Microsoft.
If this does not help, I guess it's a hardware problem and you will need to contact the ASP in your country.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100 - sound input control Enable - Realtek drivers

    Hello!

I've already read about it in this forum, but I can't find the thread more. So, you have 2 options: try to help me, or link me to this thread. THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!

I have a * Satellite A100-158, with Realtek HD sound card * (I think...), and have the following problem: * I canĀ“t hear on speakers/headphones/output line wathever in online * (iPod, bass guitar, microphone,...), after the upgrade to Vista Ultimate. I have levels and I record, but no line output signal. I tried activation monitor entry in the windows registry, and I have a button beside the microphone for the speaker properties level. I click on this button (a little snack...) and nothing happens. I also tried to uninstall the sound card and tried to install the drivers for Realtek HD soundcard (directly from the Web to Realtek site). I managed to install from windows safe mode reboot, but I can't have no option (Realtek Audio Manager on Control Panel). So, I can't seem to properly install the drivers (or Toshiba Web site, sound).
Now I don't really know if this is a bug/problem Realtek or Vista.

I'm a little despair, because I don't like the Vista operating system, and I need the laptop to study/record bass guitar.

Thank you all for the support!

You are 100% sure that this laptop supports an audio line-in port?
As far as I know that there is only a helmet and an available microphone port!

I checked a few websites and did not find t any info about an audio input port.

In any case, I have an A210 laptop with Realtek sound card.
The Stereo Mix, which is necessary if you want to save an audio stream to a Web site has been disabled. I could enable it to:
Control Panel-> Sound-> registration-> right click-> devices see off brand.
Then check and then a stereo mix should appear and you can set it up again.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P100 will not stay in hibernation mode

    Hi everyone ~.

    Satellite P100
    Vista

Before going to bed, in that I always put my computer in hibernation. He won't stay in hibernation mode. I don't know fashion 'sleep' here.
I click on the Start button and then choose put into hibernation. It goes into hibernation and I go to bed, so I don't know when it will come out of hibernation.

I used to have to press the power button, get up and running after his hibernation. Along the front of the computer are 5 blue lights. I'll call them a, b, c, d and e.

d & e are usually off when I use the computer.

a, b, and c are on when I'm on the computer. When it goes into hibernation mode b turns off.

When I get up in the morning a, b and c are all back on and everything that I have to do is move my mouse around then newspaper instead of the first press of the power button.
I have a few scheduled tasks, but I've always had people.

Help, please. Is there a setting that I can do to take care of this problem? TIA

    Hello

Have you noticed the same thing with the mode sleep too?

Anyway, check it please Windows Update option and disable it. Click the settings (left) and make sure that the first option install updated is automatically disabled. Maybe your laptop starts each day at a time and try to do the update of audit.

    Test it!

  • Satellite A100 keeps freezing after a short period

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a Satellite A100 laptop. The laptop starts without any problem. However, after a short period of time the system crashes and I have to reboot the machine.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition. I tried to reinstall a new copy of windows XP Edition family. However, the laptop continues to freeze when I try to do something.

Although the real time, it takes before it freezes changes each time.

I have two 512 MB RAM chips, and I thought it was a fault memory. So I took each chip out, leaving the other chip in. It makes no difference, the machine hangs with either chip.

Help, please. I would like to hear from anyone who might suggest what's not here.

    Thanks in advance

Maybe the temperature inside the laptop could be the reason of this gel.
I had once similar there is question. My frizzy 6 specifications because the temperature affected the memory modules.
So I cleaned the cooling fans using a jet of compressed air and I replaced the thermal grease which is a space between the cooling module and CPU. This helped...

You can try to clean the cooling also fans. But be careful and if you have no experience, then a mobile technician should help you.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100 - glued on switch to widescreen mode

    Hello

I went to turn on my Satellite A100 this morning and it starts stuck at the tense screen you get when switch you Fn and F5.
I tried it switch, and it will only switch between a black screen and the tense. Rebooting did not help either. I haven't touched all the settings, so I have no idea of what is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated (it starts to give me a headache, haha).

    Thank you!

    Hello

Looks like you are using a wrong screen resolution as Akuma wrote check the resolution of your screen.

If it doesn't work, you need to reinstall display drivers. You can find all the updates on the Toshiba site. :)

  • Satellite A100 - display balack after replacing the LCD screen

    Hello

So I'm trying to fix a LCD on a Satellite A100. The girl I am set as said she accidentally hit the screen with his hand and became black.

When you turn on the laptop I can here windows activate, nothing is on the LCD screen. It is not the backlight, because I don't see anything on the screen at all. So I bought a replacement LCD screen and that one does not work either. Same question

I think it is the inverter, any suggestions?

    Could be the sensor cover?

    Thank you! Kyle

    Hi Kyle,.

Did you buy this new LCD screen to a service provider authorized? I ask this question because it would be interesting to know if it s a Toshiba valid a party or 3rd party a spare.

Did you check the connection of the LCD cable? There may be a link to lose or the cable itself is touched.
Theoretically, it might be the FL inverter too, but I doubt that. Otherwise, you'd see something on the screen but very dark.

When I turn off using start, shut down the computer, Turn Off, the system closes its doors to a black screen but the ' market' blue lights.

Is - this exact - it seems to me that it is always powered?

    Hi Bob

When you check the sign system side in front of your laptop it is placed ON / OFF light (one on the left side). When the laptop is turned off this fire must be permanently CLOSED.

Can you please describe what happens with this (LED) light when you turn the power off?
