  • Satellite L670 - screen remains black after sleep mode

I recently bought a L670. When I close the laptop, it goes into sleep mode. No problem with that. But when I opened the laptop again the screen remains black.
I see on the drive activity light that the laptop come out of sleep mode correctly, but the screen remains black.

I don't have this problem when the sleep mode is only a few minutes. Then the screen comes up correctly.
But for example after an hour of sleep mode... no screen.

    I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    Hello

I recommend the update to the BIOS and the display driver.
It helped to solve a similar problem on my old laptop.
Maybe it helps in your case.

  • Satellite a200-1sv screen remains black at startup in Vista

    Hello

We have a problem with Toshiba Satellite A200-1sv my girlfriend: when we started, most of the time, the screen remains black, while the computer starts: after awhile, we can hear the sound of windows (vista).

In addition, if connect us another screen of the computer, it displays the scheduled start screen. In order to use the computer, it must launch a few times... The support guy where we bought the computer told us "the computer is not compatible with Vista, we cannot do something".

    Can we do something?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ju

I have to smile to read this message
    Mainly, this statement is funny;
    > The support guys where we bought the computer told us "the computer is not compatible with Vista, we can't do something."

I think that this laptop has been delivered with the Vista operating system. So why the guy said that the laptop is not compatible with Vista?  :| …. that's nonsense.

First the A200-1SV belongs to the PSAE6E series and it s fully Vista capable.
Secondly, like you say the external screen displays home Toshiba screen and so I guess that's just a matter of adjustment.
What you can do is to use the FN + F5 key combination to switch between display devices.

If it doesn't help to try to put the laptop back to the factory settings using the Toshiba Recovery CD!
In this case, the new OS, driver and tools will be installed and then everything should work fine.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200D-139 - screen remains black

Hello, Ive had my laptop for a few years and after leaving in my freezer for a few weeks on vacation, I went to turn it on and the laptop turned on and the lights came, but the screen remained black. The screen was not completely black she lights up very slightly, but nothing was visible at all (not even very thirsty)

In the past, I encountered a situation where I had a red tinge to objects on my screen, but also red horizontal lines. This was never permanent and only occasionally happened.

About my most recent problem involving the black screen, I tried taking the battery and holding the switch thing on, but also to take my ram out and put it back again. After that I took the ram out, I turned on the laptop and the screen shows red objects and flashes the screen loading and then black again. I don't know if it was because of the ram or just a coincidence.

I'm completely stuck on the current situation and would be grateful for all the help I can get. Thank you!

    Hello

If everything is clear: in your case I would like to connect an external monitor to the laptop. So that you can identify if the problem is related to the screen internal or graphics card.

In both cases you need professional help, I think the something on the hardware needs to be replaced. Therefore, you must contact an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and fix it for you it's a little tricky.

On the Toshiba page, you will find a list of ASP.

  • G62 screen remains black after the windows logo

    Hello

I have a HP G62-b05SD. I noticed that many people have the problem of simmular.

I know what makes, but don't know how to fix it.

    So here it is.

Sometimes when I boot / reboot system screen turns black after the windows logo, but if I wait a while, I do not hear the star tune up windows, but the screen remains black.

I noticed that this happens when I shut down or restart the system with a usb port (be it a mouse or a stick is not serious)

If I all out en usb port restart or turn on the machine for the first time this day here, everything starts well.

So there must be some driver problems I think with usb ports and the screen or something.

    Help, please!

Ow and when I get the black screen, the hard reset does not always work.

    I hope you can help.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - screen remains blank after power on

My Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 power on, the screen remains blank.

    Can someone please help?

Looks like a FL. inverter problem

  • Screen remains black after start-up M30X 124

    Hey there...

I hope someone can help, or at least has the same problem. I read trough this forum but can't find anything similar. Description of the problem:
After pressing the button 'Start', the laptop is a short sound (HDD - load I guess), and then nothing happens. The screen stays black, no sound at startup, loading, fan, hard drive. The only solution that I have because it is to stop the computer again (by pushing the Start button... 7 seconds), rechargable battery, put it in place and try again. I had this problem for 4 or 5 times now, for two weeks. This issue scares me. This may indicate that something in my laptop will soon die...? !

    Thanks in advance... Welcome, Dero!

    Hello

This problem occurs with use of the battery or if the device is connected to the power adapter?
Have you had problems with the battery charging procedure?
I'm not sure, but I guess there is something wrong with the battery or the electronics of power supply. I recommended to remove the battery for the work with the AC adapter. Try to discharge the battery completely several times.

  • My screen remains black after I wake my computer confirmation form.

When I wake my computer, the status light on the power button stops flashing and lights up, indicating that my computer is no longer in standby mode. The screen remains dark, however, and I don't know if the sound works, but all I can do is do a hard restart. It is very annoying and I'm afraid it will damage my computer. Help, please.

I read something on a fix for a similar problem on Microsoft Community, but I don't know if that is the solution (I remember that patches were potentially dangerous) and it is still a time to me. Another solution, I found was to update my driver, but depending on the devices I already have the latest version of the driver for my screen.
If you could help me out or give me a link to the fix, I would appreciate it a lot.
I have a G-62 HP laptop running Windows 7 64 bit, I installed on an ISO downloaded with a product key, I bought. My graphics card is AMD Radeon 4200.

Video card problems are the most common cause of this problem.

Try the following troubleshooting procedures in the order. If the steps described in the first procedure does not resolve the problem, continue to the next procedure.

    Reinstall your video driver

    1.
Right-click the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.

    2.
Click on the processes tab, click explorer.exe, and then click on end process.

    3.
Click file and then click New task (run).

    4.
In the text box open, type explorer.exe, and then click OK.

    5.
Click the Start button, type in the box Device Manager search and then, in the search results, click on Device Manager.

    6.
Double-click Display adapters, right click the display device, click Update driver software, and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.

  • Satellite P100: screen remains black after the awakening of the mode standby

    Hello!!
Can someone help me with this problem?
    I update my bios [V3.30] 12.22.2006 and now I have a problem.

When I put my laptop P100 in stand by and I return my screen no longer works! I push every button on my keyboard, I move my mouse but nothing.
Only one solution to come back is to close my laptop and reopen after that.

What to do? Please help me if you have any ideea!
    Best regards to all!

    Hello

I hope that you used the good BIOS.

Have you tried to update the graphics driver? Not? Then do it!

  • Satellite M100 - screen remains black after sleep/wake

I just installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my Satellite M100 series.

Everything works fine, but when the pc is forced into sleep/standby or it automatically goes into sleep/standby mode depending on the time of inactivity in the power settings could not be restored sleep/wake without turn off and restart.

The blue button is orange and blinking indicating sleep/standby mode. When you press it again, it turns blue and the fan turns on. But there is no display and no response. The only option is to go to market.

    Help, please

    Hello

What BIOS updated to the latest version?

  • Satellite A100-049 screen remains empty when reactivated from sleep mode

Intermittently, have been left for a while my screen A100-049 remains empty when reactivated from sleep mode. It does not meet the access keys and have checked the settings which seem to agree.

Notice that in this case the power button remains 'blue' and not to return to 'Orange flashing. Is this a common problem?

    Hello

What do you with the mode 'sleep'? Do you mean the hibernation mode or the mode booth? What operating system do you use?

Listen buddy. It's really not easy to say why it happens without running diagnostic tests. I think you should try to update the graphics driver and check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS. Two updates might be useful in resolving these issues

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100-237 screen remains off when the lid is opened

OK I'll try my best to explain this. My power settings are adjusted so that the computer has no effect when the lid is closed - except for the display, which is turned off and back on when the lid is opened (normal behaviour).

Now, in rare occasions, when I opened the back cover, the screen doesn't come back, unless I close the back cover and open again. It is not a big problem for me at the moment, but I'm afraid that the connections of the screen with the motherboard by the cover have been damaged.

BIOS version 2.00, maybe an update could solve it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ataberk,

I think that your problem can be caused by the micro-switch that will detect when the laptop lid is closed. If this switch is in the open position so your screen will remain off even with the lid open. The idea here is that you can get the display by closing and opening the lid again.

  • Satellite A100-200 - screen dead/black

A100-200 laptop bought in November 2006 and have not used it since. Last year, the screen is lit and failed frequently until it now shines at all. The fans are working and heat production.

Some people say the motherboard was going on, but this seems to be such an easy answer even for the so-called experts. A Dell laptop, that I didn't have with professionals, saying he needed a new motherboard.

I put one in me only to find out that it was the power supply (brick) who needed to change!

    Who can make a trust?

    Ideas, people?

    Hi alexlendoye,

In my view, quite easy, you can check the laptop: connect a monitor external and that s all!
If the external monitor works well, you the internal screen is defective and must be replaced (perhaps only the FL inverter which controls the backlight).

By the way: you can get the new spare parts of an authorized service provider. Technicians can also swap the display for you it's a little tricky.

    Good luck! :)
