The recovery disk for the new series of laptops can be ordered here and you will have to pay for it:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But if your laptop is a bit older so maybe an ASP in your country could help you order this disc

In very rare cases you will not be able to order a disk if your computer laptop would be belongs to a series of abandoned

In this case, you will need to install the OS from the MS Windows CD

  • Satellite M40 - cannot boot from the recovery cd after format HARD drive

    Hello

After my Satellite M40 - 133 being affected by the virus of security internet I had to wipe my hard drive. The virus wouldn't let me do anything, boot without failure or system restore. I wiped the disk and it still wouldn't load up. That's why I had to do a full erase of the disk including the hidden partition.

After doing his now do not let my boot from the CD of restoration as it says invalid partition as his search for files that must be on the hidden partition. What can I do to get it started. I'm not bothered about to recover anything on the disc. If I remove the hard drive and put the recovery cd in, it excludes the disc and begins to start until he fails to see the hard drive.

Outwardly I can link the drive to another pc and he sees it as a storage device so I'm glad that there is nothing wrong with the hard ware - help please

    Hello

Can you see the HARD drive with all the details in the BIOS?
If this isn't the case, then this means that the HARD drive is faulty or not fully compatible.
If you can see the HARD drive in the BIOS, then this means that the HARD drive is compatible.

But this should not affect booting from a bootable CD.
Even if the HD would not be recognized in the BIOS, you should be able to boot from the CD. For example a live Linux CD has not only any disk HARD because the BONE would not be installed on the HARD drive, but it loads into RAM.

The question is; Why you are unable to boot from any CD?
Maybe the discs are scratched or the CD/DVD drive cannot read the disc more because of problems of laser lens
If possible, try to copy/burn the Windows CD using another computer, and then try to start using the copied disc.

  • Satellite A100 - how to install "Windows XP MCE" on a new HARD drive?

I have a laptop Satellite A100-495. the cd/dvd does not work and I have a new hard drive. Now, I want to install the original os (windows xp professional, mce).
I'm trying to put the files of my original restore on a USB cd but never works and I did not find useful clues in any part of the forum.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?

    Hi, marawe

It would never work if you just copy the files from recovery Cd on a usb key. You need to make a BOOTABLE FLASH DISK, to do you need an application like Flashbot... Google.
Download and install it, after that you can make a bootable usb key.
You should know that your Bios must support boot with a Usb key, I don't know about your knees. Otherwise, you cannot do so. Hope it works

    Welcome them

  • Cannot complete the recovery process after replacing HARD drive

    Hello

I changed my hard drive it for 15 days because he showed abnormalities, so I bought a new hard drive Seagate Western brand with the same technical characteristics as the existing hard drive (product for the product).

I was then on TOSHIBA HDD RECOVERY to burn to CD system recovery disks, then I went to replace the hard drive.

After the change, I raised my PC with system restore CD.
The procedure is successfully completed and orders of comments asking me to remove the disk and restart the PC.

I raise the PC, everything goes well, launch windows, installation of perfect records system then comes the stage of installation and settings of the system here after the error message:

"Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on the hardware in the computer."

Then it asks me to restart, then it comes back every time on this message, I'm stuck on this step.
I tried to change the mode of the disc source hard 'compatibility' instead of 'AHCI' but it's even worse, it completely without error buggy.

Please give me an explanation of this phenomenon.

    Sincerely.

    Guillaume

Have you tried to repeat the whole recovery procedure?
If this is not the case, do.

I recommend to format the whole HARD drive and create an NTFS partition.
Then start the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk and start the recovery procedure.

I read about the problem of disk HARD similar in the past and especially NFS partition creation has helped to solve these problems.

  • Satellite 5205-S505 - how to install the new OS after replacing HARD drive

    Hello.

Installed a new hard drive. How to install an operating system?

    I thank.

    Hello

You have a Toshiba Recovery disk?
If so, then start on this disc.
The installation process should start automatically and you must follow the instructions on the screen.

If you n t have such recovery disc, then you will need to use a Microsoft Windows disk in order to install the operating system.

Satellite 5205-S505 is a series of laptop Toshiba us and old drivers can be found on the Toshiba U.S. driver page:

  • Satellite A100 - 065 (PSAANA) - can I spend it with a SATA2 HARD drive?

    Hello Forum!

I want to upgrade to a hard disk of 120 GB (Hitachi) to a 500 GB (Western Digital). I don't know if this A100 supports SATA2.

I think it's to do with the hard disk controllers that are on the motherboard. This is information I don't think (using the pc Wizard). I am very happy to use a SATA drive, if it is the one which is compatible, but if it supports SATA 2, then obviously I would install a because they are 3GB of bandwidth instead of 1.5 GB as SATA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that my hard drive is full.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You can use a SATA2 HDD without problems. These discs hard are compatible downgrade to the old SATA1 standard, so you can use 500 GB HARD drive, as you suggested.
But don t forget it will not work with SATA1 speeds, but this should not be a problem normally.

So have fun with the new HARD drive! ;)

    Good bye

  • How does the predator AG3 used together the 128 GB ssd and hard drive 2 TB

I am considering buying a predator AG3 at Costco.  It comes with a 2 TB HDD and ssd 128 b.  How the system is used both in combination?  The ssd is only for boot?  Windows will be on the SSD.  The system will know to go on the HARD disk for programs not on the SSD drive?  I have no experience using a system with two disks of a different type.

SSD is usually used as installation of the OS and some heavy load programs (editing - audio - video)

HARD drive is used as data storage or install programs of large size (for most games).

System does not know where you want to install it that way, he asks during installation

    example of

    C:\Program Files\gamenameXYZ

You can tell the installer to use instead of C: on SSD HARD drive, so you will change from C to D (if your HARD drive is D: letter of the system)

    D:\Program Files\gamenameXYZ

  • Satellite A45-S150 - black screen after the recovery process

After problems with a virus, I ran the recovery disk and reformat the hard drive and reloaded the OS. When the process pushes me to remove the disc, it begins to restart, but only shows a black screen. I restart the process of recovery only with the same results.

The laptop came loaded with XP, but that the recovery Application is running, it says it is loading Windows 98. Could the original recovery disc was loaded with the wrong operating system?

    What's next?

    Hey,.

    > I restart the process of recovery only with the same results.
You can install Windows using a normal Microsoft Windows disk?
So, you can check if the problem is related to the computer laptop or recovery disk itself.

    > it says that it is loading Windows 98
Don t worry not about this message. As far as I know it has something to do with the software that allows you to copy the recovery image on your HARD drive. Recovery disk still contains Windows XP ;)

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.

  • The recovery disk reformatted TWO hard disks on Satellite P200?

    Hello

My Satellite P200 has two hard drives.
When I use the recovery disc, it reformatted both drives or only one where Vista will be? I chose the first option, by the way.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.

If you choose the first option in recovery then it reformatted only the first HARD drive and it will consider the other HDD as additional storage space, as if it were a memory stick. When you get to the point of recover where you choose the operating system to install, it takes an option for settings or Expert mode. In one of them, I think that you can configure recovery and set up partitions.

If you want the operating system must be installed on both drives HARD, which is a bit useless, you have to remove one then do the reocvery on the other and then replace the retrieved by another and then to perform the recovery on that one. The only thing that I think this will mess up to comes from the computer won't know what MBR (Master Boot Record) to load, but if this isn't a problem then you can do what I just mentioned.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E freezes on the Toshiba start screen after BIOS update

    Hello.

Yesterday, I made an update of the BIOS on my Satellite A100-590 PSAA9E 03Z00QGR with the appropriate flash:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 153 & selProduct = 624 & langua ge = 17 & selOS = 10 & selType = all & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = userMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguag e = 17 & type = all & page = 1 & ID = 58477 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42

    BIOS - 20070709111839.zip

After flashing, the machine restarted automatically, but unfortunately it keeps now suspended from Thoshiba welcome screen. Also by pressing F2 or F12 will not change anything. It seems that the BIOS is damaged.

I saw that in the BIOS package are delivered the two files (s10gm590.rom and s10pm590.rom) flash. But just the execution of the BIOS590MP.exe SanAntonion10 a .vbs script starts decides which automatically selects and loads a flash file. Maybe she chose the wrong?

What should I do now? Is there a way to restore the BIOS, or do I have to send my laptop?

    Thanks in advance
