Satellite A100: Battery does not charge

I have a problem with the battery of high capacity on the Satellite A100-720. Accidentally I forgot the action of critical battery set to 'No action', so the battery got virtually completely discharged and now the laptop refuses to charge the battery. The orange light comes on, but the NHC program reports no load current and just on 0%.
It is also strange that if I stop the laptop and unplug the power cable and then reinsert, it takes a second or two for the connector blue AC light upward and another a few seconds for the battery charging light illuminates... that's not happened before.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hello

While the laptop is turned on and connected to the adapter try to remove the battery and put it back up shortly after. Look at what happens and we report.

By the way: what is the number of the part of this battery high capacity you use with your Satellite A100?

I have a Satellite L30 and the battery does not seem to charge.

The battery keeps flickering light with yellow outside. I can use the laptop when I am connected but when if I'm moving to much the battery seems to lose the connection to the AC adapter.

I don't know if it's the battery or something else.
    Can anyone help?

Please, remove the battery and use laptop with AC adapter only. I imagine that you will be able to use your laptop properly. When the laptop is ON put the battery back in place and let us know if the battery led will continue to Flash.

If Yes, I'm pretty sure the battery is dead and you need a new.

  • Satellite L500D battery does not charge

I tried the troubleshooting tips him are delivered with the user manual but light only stays on for about 5 seconds and it constantly says 0%.

    Hello

Battery problems are nothing unusual, that sooner or later each battery will die it s only a matter of time but of course he s strange that the battery can not be charged after 8 months of use

However, the battery and the laptop are covered under warranty for 12 months.
You should get in touch with a local ASP in order to solve this problem
If the warranty is valid, everything must be done free of charge...

  • Satellite L650D battery does not charge

    Hello.

My laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L650D PSK1SE.

Recently I have updated my BIOS to v1.80, because there was a problem with the installation of Linux, which is solved in v1.80. Then, I met another problem - my laptop could not hibernate.

This problem suddenly disapperared after a few months, but then battery stopped charging.
When I plug my laptop, Windows 7 says "plugged in, not of charge, percentage: number.

Sorry, I can't write exactly what message because for me, it's in Russian. But it's something like that. Ubuntu says that the battery is OK and the charge, but in fact, it is not.

It starts to load when I deattach my battery and attach it back physically.

Toshiba PC Health Monitor says my battery is OK. Also I noticed that Eco Utility DOES NOT WORK when this question appears.

This happens usually when I use a cell phone for a few days while it is in hibernation.

    That's all.
Sorry for the bad English. Looking forward for your help.

    Hello

I can't imagine that this problem could be linked to the new BIOS
    But try this:

-access the BIOS and set it to the default value (press F9 to get default and save changes by pressing F10)
-close the laptop and unplug the battery adapter and ac
-Press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.
-connect the battery and ac adapter and turn on the device
-check if the battery can be charged.

    Hello

Leave the AC adapter plugged into the laptop for a longer period of time.
In many cases, the battery may not start to demand immediately, as his deeply discharged.
In this case the adapter must be connected to the laptop for a long period of precharge the battery, then the battery should start loading as usual.

  • Satellite A100-383 does not - the battery is not

    Hi all

I own a satellite A100-383 (PSAARE) that does not start when the battery is totally empty, or if I leave without the battery of the day to the next. The battery will charge not façade is and all the lights are off. I should always have a load on my battery and don't let not unplugged more than 2 days.

If for some reason, my battery was completely empty, Plug and unplug the power supply from the wall outlet would make all the lights increase and charge the battery again.

Unfortunately, I went on vacation and I forgot my pc unplugged and it does not charge or turn on. ? The headlights are off. Tried my dear old method to connect the unit several times with battery and without it with no luck... I could see a connection for a second or two, but I wasn't fast enough to plug in and they are off.

I would be so grateful to you all if you give me a help to put it on my pc. Once I have it on the load and back I'll buy a new battery for sure.

I look forward to reading your advice.

    Thank you all in advance!

  • Satellite A300-1BZ - new battery does not charge

    Hello

I bought a new battery (PA3534U-1BRS) because my old battery (3 years) hold office as well as it should!
The new battery will not charge, the Red battery light suggesting everything of fine, but then begins to Flash after 20 minutes.
When I turn on the computer the battery indicator on the taskbar in Vista tells me the device is turned on, but the battery won't charge.

The company where I bought the battery has issued me with a replacement, but I'll always have the same problem.
They have listed the battery as a genuine, and there any labelling even as my old battery.

The battery would be false or toshiba has changed the specifications of this battery in particular.
The reason for my last statement is the fact that my old battery contacts look more apparent than those on the new.

I have no reason to believe that the company is not kosher because I returned the first battery to address personally after realizing that they were on my doorstep!
    Fake or not compatible?

    The comments appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Maybe you used the battery is not compatible, but AFAIK the PA3534U-1BRS is designed for Satellite A200 A300 L300 L300D
    So it should work.

However, I recommend buying a battery of origin of Toshiba ASP.

Contact a local Toshiba authorized service partner and order a new compatible battery for this laptop.

I think the new battery should work.

  • Battery does not charge, but by Satellite Pro L510 is running in battery mode

Hi, I had a few odd battery problems these days:

I had charged my laptop completely to 100% and then used it on the train on my way home (in Windows 7 64-bit), how I got it to about 70%, shut down normally, put it in my bag and left there until I got home. When I got home, I tried to turn it on but it lights and battery light orange blinking indicating that there can be no charge. I plugged it in and it worked as usual (Linux), so don't think too hard on this subject.

Later I realized that the battery was still the load after longer that it should have been and running the acpi + (linux) command told me has the battery + charge, 0%, charge at the zero rate - will never fully charge. + I disconnected to see if it worked, and the battery lasted as usual, although always it's 0% charge rate.

I started in Windows 7, and the battery reported that it was at 68%, so I assumed it was back to normal. A while later, I noticed that he was still 68%, despite having connected for a while - at least an hour. Start on linux, acpi showed data battery normal search, except that it was 'blocked' to 68%.

I disconnected the laptop and run it as usual, and it ran until he cut; I guess with him out of power. I plugged it back in and it is 'charge' again, even if it is still 0% battery and "load at the zero rate".

Before all this happened, the battery works well - apparently to 94% of its capacity. It would be modified for a few hours unplugged play movies or games.

Summary: PC laptop battery suddenly going to works "attributed to the zero rate" and 0% complete; battery still seems to work very well, seems fresh and portable no power plugged in but the battery is not 'charging' or have his percentage of charge remaining increase.

Someone at - it ideas? I have yet to try a BIOS update, but it seems that there is one available, so I will give that a try. I feel that the problem is not the battery as the battery controller, so I don't want to invest in a new battery without knowing it, the problem will be solved.

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think you should try upgrading the BIOS
BIOS default value, and then try to charge the battery again.

    > get the impression, the problem is not the battery as the battery controller, so I don't want to invest in a new battery without knowing it, the problem will be solved.
Well, it of really difficult to tell if the battery or the mobo may be affected
In my opinion, the battery must be tested without a doubt

  • Satellite M30X Pro does not charge on current alternative

Hello. My satellite M30X pro does not load when it is connected to the adapter sector, I have had the laptop for about a year and a half now

Is this problem likely to be due to the charger doesn't work does not correctly? I don't want to spend £60 for a new charger, namely the charger works fine, and it's actually something else no longer works correctly!

    Thank you

Is it possible to use the laptop with the adapter?
    No AC lights?
If yes then the AC adapter works fine.
In this case, if the battery is not either of the malfunctions of the battery or the thing will not on the motherboard.
    But mostly the battery fails.

  • Satellite A110 battery does not & will not work if the battery is connected

    Hello

I will try to regain control of the situation quite clearly.

    Product: Toshiba Satellite A110-149

Works fine on AC adapter / CC (Eve just a summary of the problem but because of Gentoo Linux, this used to work under Windows XP)

Original battery was dead. Not only there is no charge, but with this battery and the AC adapter absolutely nothing, not a single LED. No need to mention that I couldn't turn on the computer.

Bought a new battery at Eforcity.com
    -Replace: PA3465U-1BRS | 10.8V | 6600mAh (71Wh)

With this new battery and the AC adapter plugged in, I have the green power led and lighted orange recharge. But even after 8 hours and the computer off of the battery did not charge.
If I try to turn on the computer with this new battery in and the AC adapter is plugged in it starts to run, but after awhile it stops automatically, no question weather I start or enter the BIOS.

BIOS is Phoenix v1.50 and reset the default settings.
Also, downloaded the last OS independent 1.70 - WIN (bios - 20090121162419.zip), but is there a way to update without Windows?

I tried to just unplugged and press the power button several times (last test, I continued pressing more than 2 minutes for what counts)

I have clean the contacts with alcohol.

Would it be because of a fuse or capacitor I could replace myself or something?

    Any help would be grateful.

    Kind regards
    Charly

    Hello

I'm not quite sure what happened to the laptop, but first of all you need to know that laptop m should feed and must run properly if the AC adapter is plugged.
The isn t battery required to power the unit if the power adapter provides power for the laptop.

So if ONLY the battery would be affected, the unit must always turn sector.

This is why I think that its a serious hardware issue for example motherboard problem.

  • Aspire V5 battery does not charge

My Aspire V5 battery does not load.

I don't know how old is your system, but I know that I had to replace a few chargers for my children, laptops...

Unfortunately, no matter what the company. If it is not used only on a desktop and it never moves a cord of the charger can scoop on...

It could be the PORT where the charger plugs or it could be the lead from the charger. Sometimes you can find the brake by the feeling of the line, and sometimes you can't see something wrong. If you knjow someone with the same type of system as yours, you can try charger of them and if it works, then you know it's your Charger if it don't then it maybe as I said the PORT when you plug...

  • Sansa Clip Zip battery does not charge, goes directly to the screen of the song

It's my third Sansa MP3 players.  The first was a Sansa Fuze with the round button.  Like that one but my husband needed more that I did it I gave it to him.  He is old, but the player is still so today.

The second was a Sansa Fuze + with the touchpad.  The touchpad has been way too sensitive but I need to play only two songs for sleep therapy while I was fine with it until the battery suddenly stopped charging a few months ago, I posted my problems in the Sansa Fuze + forum.  After trying a few suggestions, I finally accepted that he was a Goner.

I bought this Sansa Clip Zip 4 G, thinking that should last at least for a while because I use every day.  In fact, I needed only when I had disorders of sleep during the night;  I probably used it once every two weeks or more.  I used my cell phone to the device, had no problems until now.

The last time that I loaded it was 2 weeks, to 98% full - the thing never indicated 100% while it was a little weird.  In any case, I had problems sleeping two nights ago so I took out the Clip Zip and noticed that the battery still had plenty of juice left.  This morning I checked the battery, he had 68%, but I thought I needed could again tonight so better it load up, just in case where.

I connected it to my computer, but it did not show "connected" screen  Instead, he went straight to the last song I listened to.  I thought it was weird so I turned off the player then tried again.  Of course, he went directly to the screen of the song.  I noticed that the battery icon was showing 'filler '.  I thought that if I left it connected to the pc long enough IT would eventually deducted.  Two hours later, I checked the computer and it says that the drive battery was dangerously low.  I disconnected and then reconnected and this time he said 98% charged.  I loaded a bit more just in case so I used the player for about 15 minutes and the player turns off.  Plugged into the pc and now it says battery is extremely low, while the last hours do not charge the battery, but it drains pretty!

My last attempt was to plug into a wall charger and guess what?  He went directly to the screen of the song once again.  Contrary to connect to the computer, I could actually turn off the player but this way does not charge the battery, or.   It's exactly the same problem as my second player, the Sansa Fuze +.

I bought the last two players from Sansa, simply because I really liked the first which of course had been abandoned a long time ago.  I don't know if I have bad luck or it is just an issue joint Sansa players but one way or the other I don't buy any Sansa more in the future.  He is a big name that comes with the big disappointment!

You can also try a reset by pressing and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds. Release it and then turn it on normally and see how it behaves.

By your description of the message "dangerously low" you get then plug it into your computer, which tells me that you use MTP mode on the player (or default automatic default, MTP). MTP mode can be pretty weird; better to use MSC mode unless you have need to PSG for "protected" content or DRM files such as Rhapsody or audio in your library or Audible books. The small "crirically" message is a bug in Windows 7 (using MTP mode) that Microsoft did not consider important enough to fix.

  • Pavilion dv4: battery does not charge even when it is plugged (load plugged says), but doesn't move 19%

    Hello hp Support Forums.

Hardware specifications of the machine (if required):

Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x 64
    CPU: Intel (r) Core i5 - 3210M @ 2.50 GHz (4 processors)
    RAM: 8192 MB RAM (4096 MB x 2) DDR3

Audio: IDT High Definition Audio 16-bit
    HARD drive: 750 GB SAMSUNG Spinpoint M8 ST750LM022 HN-M750MBB

I own a laptop PC hp Pavilion dv4 laptop and this morning there was a sudden battery problem, I was playing Dota 2 and the Steam interface told me that the battery percentage was 12% (7 minutes from the end) then I moved and grabbed the chager, plugged into the outlet and plugged the charger in laptop a few seconds later the laptop turns off suddenly and won't restart, even if the charger is plugged there no light came from the load indicator.

A few minutes later do research for similar problems, there was a solution to remove the battery and the charger then press and hold power for 30 seconds and 3-5 minutes then return the battery but it did nothing.

After with some research, the indicator load on all of a sudden and when I start the laptop it was on 12 percent and billed not (there is no indicator that the charger is plugged) and turns off suddenly without warning.

Later, with a bit of panic and thought, I removed the battery and the charge light lit, which allows me to boot up the laptop and when Windows starts, I plugged it to the battery and it says: 19% (plugged in, load) so I track for a bit, but it didn't move at all, even when I changed the power of High Performance for HP recommended settings , window 19% available (plugged in, load) but it's just, it, don't move or anything like that.

EDIT: When I unplugged the charger to move my computer laptop and plugged in again, the indicator not lit and does not charge the battery thus forcing me to shut down or Hibernate, and remove the battery to the charge light.

Your battery is quite likely to be having no longer life left.

It is that if your laptop starts up without the battery, since the race, the battery test is not a viable option.
