  I have a Satellite U305 running Windows Vista, I also bought a VGA Dynadock with HP 20 "external monitor.

  I have uppdated all Dynadock readers (Audio, video, etc.) to the latest version, but DVD-video or MPEG video recorded with my camera is not possible to look at the monitor extended that in the main screen (laptop computer monitor).

  I agree with the snipe of the user. The dynadock is simply not designed to transfer the enormous amount of data that accumulate to watch movies on DVD.

  As much as I know page driver Toshiba UE does not all drivers Win 7 for Satellite A100 series. you need get the graphics driver from some other 3rd party pages

  What A100-xxx you have exactly and what graphics card does support the laptop?

  I just got an old Toshiba Satellite A100-283 and tried to connect it to a TFT 22 ". Somehow, it seems that this laptop graphics card does not support the external screen such as 1920 x 1080 resolutions. I find 16:9 1920 x 1440 resolutions and such but not at all.
  Is - anyone here know if there is a way to get this notebook running on an external display in 16:9?

  This would mean that the FL inverter is faulty the FL inverter of the internal LCD display controls the backlight of the screen and if the isn t working FL inverter you can see a picture, but very very dark.

  It would be a logical explanation for your problem, because there must be something wrong with the laptop LCD if an external monitor is working properly. Also if it happens in the BIOS the problem is not software.

  In your case I contact an authorized service provider and ask the guys for help. They can check your laptop and this should be done. Here, we can only speculate and discuss the different possibilities because it s just a user forum. EPA has professional diagnostic tools and can order all Toshiba spare parts.

  Have you checked the Panel-> graphic Manager Intel?
  Usually, it takes an option which allows you to rotate the screen.

  There are also combinations of keys that should work too:
  Turn to normal: CTRL + ALT + UP
  Rotation 90 °: CTRL + ALT + LEFT
  Rotate 180 degrees: CTRL + ALT + DOWN
  Rotation of 270 degrees: CTRL + ALT + RIGHT

  I would like to add that I can see on both screens only on screen cracked that I can't see the bottom of it due to cracking. As recovery options are visible on the external display, it would be prudent to start the recovery process? I made a few choice, but I am now at the point choose to 'pull the trigger' and click next to start it or hit Cancel.

• The external monitor resolution not supported on Satellite Pro U400

  I want to connect an external monitor running at 1440 x 900, but the built-in driver does not offer this resolution and the display is very blurry.

  Unfortunately, this is because of the limitation of the driver.
  What should do? What you can do is to install a non-Toshiba graphics card driver but also, this isn't the best idea.

  Third party graphic driver can have a negative influence on the features of the graphics card and allow him to work without limitation. It may end with overheating or material damage.
  So think twice before doing this.

  Hi mate

  I recommend using the FN + F5 key combination
  You can use it to switch to output the external monitor or TV.
  This key combination supports several options:
  -screen internal + external display
  -external display only
  -TV out
  -etc...

  You have to press FN + F5 several times in order to get the right output.

  If I connect an external monitor to the display quality VGA port is quite poor. It looks like a 'grainy twinkle"(sorry hard to describe). I have tried several different monitors and made all the adjustments that I can find. If I increase the contrast to max is not visible, but still the screen is too bright.   I had to reinstall Windows with XP SP3 in place and place of Vista the A100 was delivered with. I now need some drivers (Lan, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB) and wanted to know if I can still use the Vista drivers for the A100 (PSAA8E) available on the Toshiba support site, or should I look XP compatible drivers in other places.

  If you have installed Win XP you use drivers designed for Win XP and not Vista.
  Win XP drivers do NOT work on Vista OS.

  In order to check the Toshiba page if some XP drivers are available.
  If you find not all drivers XP then you have to collect the XP drivers to your own hand

  But I m sure that some XP drivers are on the European driver Toshiba page.

  As you probably know, the Toshiba Recovery disk is not the same as an original Microsoft disc.

  The recovery disk contains an image and the use of the recovery disk will format the whole HARD drive and will remove all data stored on the HARD drive.

  If you cannot keep the data on the HARD drive using the recovery disk because you will lose.

  I think you need to back up the important docs before using the recovery disk.

  If you have XP OS, you must install the common modules first.
  It is very important that this driver would be installed before the other Toshiba Utilities.

  But generally it s necessary and indispensable to install all available Toshiba drivers and tools for you notebook series in the right order.
  I saw the Setup file instruction txt on the driver page.

  Please follow the order mentioned in this text file.
