Please can someone advise how I can get internet connection Wi - Fi while I'm away.

Hi Jane
To connect the laptop to the wireless LAN, you need to first configure the WLan router.
Each WLan router manufacturing provides a statement of installation and configuration.
After configuring the WLan router, you must activate the WiFi card on laptop you.
Turn on the WLan switch and use the FN + F8 key combination.
Then, you must use either software 3rd party WLAN client configuration like the Intel Proset utility or you will use the own Windows OS option for the WLan connection.
Detailed advice, you will find in this category of the forum or the internet. Google simply

How to connect to wireless internet?
I just reinstalled WinXP (2002 I think) from my (old) Dell Latitude D610 laptop installation disc.
I did it just to get rid of unnecessary and old programs that I didn't.I remember I used to be able to connect to wireless internet, but my father, who once used this computer says he thinks that it has deleted the ability (?).If I doControl Panel > network connections >There is nothing in the record that says wireless or LAN or it is supposed to sayIn the lower right corner of the task bar, there is no symbol for itIf I doMy computer > properties > Device Manager >There is no network card anywhere, but it has Ethernet controller, network controller, PCI Modem and PCI Simple Communications Controller all with '! ' for their icons. In addition, there is no switch for the adapter to network/radio outside the computer.I feel that this computer has maybe just need to be connected by a wire, but has no sense because it's a laptop and I don't remember having need to be wired previouslyThanks guys,.
I think I've fixed everything.I got all the drivers I needed pcidatabase.com and installed all my without wire works, and so I need drivers for others.Do you think that a computer of this old (7 years) is worth keeping?I do not have access to newer computers, but it runs pretty quickly because it did downloaded to it. If this is the case, you think I should update in any way?Once again, thank you for your help. -

Hello
(1) have you activated the WLan card?
To activate the Wlan you must pass the antenna WLan switch on IT (LED should Flash) and you must use the FN + F8 key.(2) did you check the WLan configuration?
-SID, right encryption settings, good filtering by MAC address, good TCP/IP settings on the right(3) have you tried to update the driver WLan?
(4) don't you update the BIOS?
If this is not the case, check this box!

Satellite L300 - does not connect to wireless internet
I have a satellite L300 (part No.: PSLB8A-0SN004) took me right back to the factory settings (out of box).
I opened internet connections and all the usual wireless names were there.
I tried hang my internet (wireless) home and tried several times, with the correct password, however it just does not connect.I tried to install the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN driver both Atheros Wireless LAN Driver, but neither helped.
The Wi - fi switch on the front is also in position to position IT. Please help I have to up my laptop up and running as soon as POSSIBLE.
> I tried to install the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN driver both Atheros Wireless LAN Driver, but neither helped.
If the wireless network adapter is recognized in Device Manager, you n t need to install the WLan driver.
In addition, you said that you can see the wireless networks available in your environment. This means that the WiFi is enabled and worksI think that you should disable the WiFi settings (WEP, WPA, etc.) only for testing purposes and should try to connect the laptop to the network open, if possible, that means that you badly chosen encraption or the password.

Satellite P100: How to connect to internet via WiFi?
I read a post above that says that the sticker on the bottom of the laptop ' wireless network: no w/l ' means that there are no installed wireless.
I'm fairly certain that my Satellite P100 has installed. I customized my phone, ensuring that I have added wireless for the school.I have an on-off switch for the wireless on the case. Also, when I entered a zone wireless for the first time, a program (Q-Connect) came.
I reinstalled Windows XP and wonder if it is a software that is missing (which has been the case with other similar programs audio). This could be the operator error?
I don't know anything wireless.
How to connect to wireless internet?Hello
First, you must be sure that your laptop has WLan card to 100%. Go to the Device Manager and check the network adapters section. If you will see card WLan (intel or atheros) then you unit definitely has the Wlan card.
To use the WiFi network, you must configure your Wlan router. Consult the manual.
You must then activate the Wlan switch on the side of the laptop and use the combination FN + F8 to select the WiFi network. For the other steps, you can also check this forum wireless. Here you will find a lot of descriptions.

original title: portable wireless problems
Hi guys, my laptop cannot connect to wireless internet. I tried to use ConfigFree Diagnostic tests already installed on my computer, reset the router, and even taking on the router for 30 seconds and put it to. On my laptop wireless switch is turned on, too. Is the only way I can connect to the internet via an ethernet cable and I started to disconnect from the wireless internet just yesterday. I know that my router is not the problem because I have a laptop connected to her brother. Also, I tried the FN + F8 key on my Toshiba laptop. Thank you in advance.

Unable to connect to wireless internet after Windows Vista update on 16/09/10
Since I've updated windows I cannot access my wireless internet connection, however, I am still able to connect via the LAN port.
If I check my ipconfig it says under the "media disconnected" wireless network connection I tried to get my IP address into my settings because they seem to have disappeared, but I can't always wireless. I ran all Windows diagnostic tools, but all say that the internet connection is fine (due to it being connected by the LAN port).
I also tried to fix it by other solutions on this forum, that is
- Open Set Up a Wireless Router or Access Point by clicking theStart button, clickingControl Panel, clicking network and Internet, and then clicknetwork and sharing Center. In the left pane, clickset up a connection or network, and thenset up an access point or wireless router.
The result of the message is ' Windows has detected network hardware, but it cannot automatically configure "and when I try to manually configure the server requires a user name and password which I don't have.
Please could shed you some light on this case for me?
Thank you very much
Hello
I tried everything above without result. However, I managed to reinstall my wireless router software after having repaired my DVD driver software. I restarted my computer and Wireless does not work. Reinstalled the software new and restarted the computer, and then after a short period of time the computer connected to wireless internet! Not know not why the remedy has been delayed or why it did not work after the first attempt, but it connects wireless now - what I know is that this problem occurred after an update of Windows, it's a shame that Microsoft failed to address this problem as it was their update it as many other people have also claimed.
A big thank you to everyone who offered advice.

Hello:
If the network controller device is missing, then the driver installed and you should now see an Intel 5100 WiFi card listed in the category network adapters in the Device Manager.
You should now be able to connect to wireless internet.
The other two drivers you posted the ID for are the following:
First install it and reboot.
The other is the graphics card that needs a driver.
One of the unknown devices is probably this one...
Another unknown devices is probably this one...
You must display the hardware for the 3rd ID like you did the others. If it is listed as being unknown, it does not start with PCI\VEN. Right after the top line of characters.
