Satellite A100 (PSAANE) - BSOD if I install Windows XP
I am the owner of the laptop listed in the title (* Toshiba Satellite A100 PSAANE). *
Inittialy that the laptop was sold with Win Vista preinstaled as operated system.
My intention is to install Win XP on this computer. I am an experienced user in installing XP on computers but not on the laptop, and this is the first time when I tried.
I have a big problem:
immediately after the restart on the bootable CD with XP SP1, I received the following message on a blue screen:
+ "A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. +
+ If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appeears again, follow these steps: +.
+ Make sure you have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer to update the driver. Try changing video cards. +
+ Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the bios. Disable the Bios memory options such as implementing caching or shading. If you need to use the Safe Mode to remove or disabled components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe mode. +

You should know that I have the latest version of the bios update on this machine.
WHAT CAN I DO? ANY HELP?
As far as I know the Satellite A100 is equipped with a SATA HDD and so you need the SATA drivers before installing Windows XP.
It is a known issue and you will find hundreds of discussions here in the forum about this Yes, you can take a few minutes to use the forum search.
On your laptop, you need the Storage Manager you can download from the Toshiba site. Then, you can create a new installation with nLite disk or you are using an external floppy drive. I think that this document could be useful for you:
But don t forget the Windows XP disk must contain at least SP2!
I recently installed XP Pro on my laptop. It was previously running XP Home. Now I have no sound. I downloaded the Realtek drivers on the Toshiba site & also tried different drivers from the Realtek site, all without effect. Realtek sound appears in the Manager of devices as "w.orking correctly. Detached & allowing him to be detected again also has no effect. Any advice is welcome.
Have you installed SP3 for Windows XP? If this isn't the case, you should do it, because it contains important updates for the sound card drivers.
So to remove the current sound driver, install SP3 and then reinstall the audio driver.
Check this box!
After the recovery and download of updates and the XP operating system that the screen remains black, bios does not start, and XP does not start.
What can I do?
A I press a certain key combination?
How can I reset the laptop again?
Who can help quickly?
Stand by. If I understand you just your laptop does not work.
What happen exactly when you press the power button / stop? You don't see anything on the screen? You see Toshiba welcome screen.
Power is ON?
Is there a any reaction?
Remove the battery and leave the laptop for some time, connect the power supply only and try to start it again.
To be honest, this whole thing is strange. Recovery image installation is not responsible for this kind of behavior. Have you done something else that may be responsible for this?
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-626 and I recently installed Windows 7. I was able to install all the drivers except bluetooth!
There is no bluetooth device in the Device Manager... There is no unknown device is... When I try to install Bluetooth Stack, I get an error message saying, plug in and press OK.
I don't know what to do... Can anyone help? In XP bluetooth worked well and I have used so many times...
Prior to installing the BT software, you must activate the BT module.
The principle is the same as for the earlier operating system: turn on the WLAN antenna and use the FN + F8 key combination.
The question is: can you use FN + F8 key combination to activate the BT?
I try to search the Internet for satellite a100 PSAANE drivers for windows 2003 but I can not find...
Can someone help me please!
You won't find these drivers anywhere
Win 2003 uses Win XP as the basis
This is why you must use the Win XP drivers!
Visit the European driver of Toshiba page and choose the satellite A100 PSAANE
Then, you will get all the drivers for Win XP
I have a satellite A100 PSAANE running Vista Ultimate that has trouble finding WIFI (atheros wlan card). The router is a Siemens gigaset transmitting the WPA2-PSK / WPA - PSK with dynamic channel assignment. In the past, I was able to get a wireless connection to my router with this laptop, but did find it difficult to detect the WIFI network sometimes.
Active wireless switch. Different WLAN of the A100 see whenever I update the list in Vista.
Ever - at least most of the time that I do not see my own network.
Other laptops running Windows XP however found my WLAN in these moments there.
This implies a malfunction on the A100.
Update (28/10) drivers for Atheros and Vista resulted in no w-network at all.
Reset did not help. A reset of the router does not work nor the laptop next to the router of positioning.
The failure of detection is a recurring event with this router.
Currently the situation is that no WLAN is detected, then things got worse.
Everyone has the same problems in a similar configuration?
I feel that I might have a problem of material here.
Thank you very much
I had a similar situation with my two laptops Toshiba (new Satellite A200 and older Tecra M1). I was confused why the WIFI network is not visible the two notebooks. After a few reboots (laptop computers and router) I again was able to use the WLAN.
I do not really understand what was wrong, but now it works again. Try the same thing. Stop the router for awhile and turn it back on.
Someone at - it a Vista driver for readers PIONEER DVD - RW DVR-K17A installed in my Satellite A100-PSAAN model? -Tosh or Pioneer want to know.
Vista driver? Sorry, but Toshiba does not offer driver for optical disc drive. ODD uses the standard Microsoft driver. You have a problem with it?
I am experiencing a small problem, I recently bought a second hand satellite A100 (laptop and charger only), that came preloaded with Vista home premium. the problem is that I need to run Windows XP on this machine.
So I did what anyone else would do, I formatted the machine, but not knowing that the disk contained the necessary drivers. So now I have loaded WXP, installed all the drivers in the support section, but now I'm looking for two drivers:
(1) the "biometric coprocessor" and
(2) audio driver modem high definition...
Any idea where I can get these?
Thanks in advance
All the XP drivers are published on the page of Toshiba. But the proper installation order is the key!
Please choose your laptop in the form driver of Toshiba (PSAAN) download and install all the drivers available in the right order.
The installation instruction was also published on this site! Simply follow these guide lines!
I think that the two missing pilots are chipset and modem driver!
I bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 - 15 p. Unfortunately I can't install Windows XP Home Edition, because the error pops up on the beginning of the installation (nr of error: STOP: 0x0000007B (0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).) I couldn't install Linux as well.
Is this normal?
What should I do before installing Windows? Should I first all the drivers? And how to install without Windows?
Maybe it is some property damage?
PS. I'm not very good with computers, so I need simple explanation (step by step - how to install Windows). ;)
Use NLite software and include files
on the Windows XP disc
Then take this new drive and use it for booting and Installing Win XP.
Please help me
I have the XP operating system.
I have not found the Driver Modem...
I can't believe that! Have you checked the page European driver of Toshiba?
I chose your laptop Satellite A100 PSANN series starting from the download form and I found the XP modem driver. Again, where is the problem? The XP modem driver is available for you.
I think you should also take a look at the installation instructions document.
You will find a driver the installation order that is important!
I need to download the drivers from the support site for Europe, because the Australian site has no installation instructions and has no support for windows 7.
So I need to know what that PSAANA A100-04E005 in europe.
I'm reformatting of a book of friends, I installed xp (for execution), but some drivers do not work correctly:
("A modem device were found on the Bus Audio" after installing the realtek drivers).
I will install windows 7 if I can download the drivers.
Any help would be appreciated.
I checked the Toshiba page and I think that your model is similar to the series PSAANE I founded here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
But for Windows 7, there is also no drivers. You can try using the Vista drivers because most of them usually works on Windows 7.
But in your case, I would setup the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba. There are all the drivers and tools are installed and that your laptop is ready to use! :)
Why is there no drivers for Win XP, computer toshiba laptop, a series A100 PSAANE.
There is one and only fair for HER.
I have such a laptop, with vista preinstaled, and he works very hard.
I am looking for drivers, I installed them, but I had some problems with them. I took the drivers of the other notebooks SERIES A100, the American site, but nothing.
I need help here.
Y at - it someoane coul help me?
Don t look at the Toshiba site us but on the European driver from Toshiba site.
This laptop is really designed for the European market and therefore the drivers from the US site could not work as it should.
Check the different Satellite A100 and Equium A100 series and drivers only.
Unfortunately, this is my best idea and I fear that it could be a last :| m
I have a problem with sound after installing Windows 7 on a (PLUA1E) satellite Pro U200. No Win7 audio driver available on the Nordic pilot site. Help, please.
Have you already checked the site Web of Toshiba itself?
I found a driver for Vista 32 bit and Vista drivers most also work on Windows 7 so it s worth a try! :)
Can I install Windows XP on the Satellite C650-15 X, everything will work (drivers, ethernet etc...)?
> Can I install Windows XP
Yes of course. Why not? You can install what you want
> everything will work (drivers, ethernet etc...)?
You can check yourself on the Toshiba driver download page:
Your model is part of the PSC08E series and is therefore all the drivers available and if you can get all the drivers, everything will work! :)
I am the owner of a Satellite A100-991. Thanks to Toshiba, I upgraded from XP MCE Vista Home Premium at a small price.
Now, I would like to upgrade to Windows 7, but I don't know which version of Windows 7, I have to buy.
Not a Toshiba offers special "Vista to Windows 7" for Notebooks?
If not, should what kind of Windows 7 I buy at Microsoft? Is one compatible with my current operating system? http://EMEA.microsoftstore.com/FR/Microsoft/mise-a-jour-Windows-7-Edition-familiale-premium
At the moment he is has no info on the models of laptops will be will support for the new Windows 7 operating system.
To be honest, I think your laptop is quite old and it will not support for Windows 7.
You can buy it, but without the utilities, tools and the correct drivers won't you have configured OS as for support of Windows XP Home edition or Vista.
Maybe you should wait a few weeks before management starts and you will see how it will be compatible with Satellite A100.
