Satellite A100 - screen empty, no electricity, no start

Hello

I have a Tosh A100 for about 2 months. When I tried to put in operation today the power button lights up and wakes up the disk drive, but I have no other power than that. no key command does not work. I can hear and feel the fan is running, but there is no other activity at all. any tips or advice?

Hi mate,

Unfortunately I can't say with certainty what the problem, but I can tell you what you can try to make your machine still works:

Remove the battery and the captain, and then let the machine for a few hours without power etc. (make sure that no devices are attached).

After re-introduced the AC and the battery, the machine must start again.

If the problem occurs more than once while you must contact an ASP (Authorized Service Partner) for a checkup of equipment or repair:

See you soon

  • Satellite A100 screen had a few scratches

Hi all, I hope I'm posting in the right section...

My problem is that for a long time, when my laptop was my offbeat system idle and froze. When I forced a reboot the screen has some scratches.

Once the program loaded grub (double ubuntu/win7), he had a few random weird letters instead of the correct letters.
After the Boot animation windows, the screen remains blank. I rebooted and tried to log in to ubuntu.

Ubuntu was telling me something about some error and told me to go under the low resolution.
Using sure start in windows, I was finally able to enter windows system too. I disabled the driver (?) graphics in the Device Manager, and since then he has been able to start normally, in low resolution, what is.

The question is, if my graphics card is broken? Because sometimes, the display looks good again. (I see that because there are no weird scratches and I'm able to start with a high resolution). But there again it is broken once again):

I tried to reinstall the graphics driver many times, but it did not help. And it should be the newest!

    On my system:
    Satellite A100
    nVidia GeForce Go 7600

Any help/tips/advice much appreciated! Thank you

I'm scared, Yes. It looks like a faulty graphics card.
You can try to connect the external monitor to the laptop and could check if the same would be visible on the second monitor
In most cases if the GPU is affected, the stripes are visible on the screen, internal and external.

Well, in this case you would need a new motherboard. :(

  • Satellite A100 display empty but external vga works

    Hello
my two-year old Satellite A100-847 screen has stopped working. I used the external VGA monitor for a few days,
and then switched back to laptop computer LCD and discovered that it doesn't work. It shows nothing, only the gray backlight.
The LCD does not work even at start-up in WIN XP, or AC or battery power. I tried to disassemble the screen according to some guide
to check if the cable is firmly in his place in connection to the LCD, but it has not solved the problem.
I use the original BIOS and the somewhat updated nvidia display driver, it worked fine until now, so I suggest this isn't a driver/bios problem.
(but maybe that is it, so I tried to install the original display with no effect driver.) I don't want to try to Flash the new bios and meet up with Kiss to the top view and bios too)
Video output for external monitor is quite well, start-up or in the victory.

Everyone sees a solution, please? Or should I just go to the service provider...
    Thank you
    Pepe

I think that it s a hardware problem of the display or the FL-inverter.
The FL inverter is part hidden somewhere close to the screen.
It controls the backlight of the display.

So you should go to an ASP, they can order the parts and exchange it or looking to ebay for a complete display and Exchange yourself.

  • Satellite A100 screen backlight works, but no display

Just in the process of establishing a Satellite A100 that works very well through the connection of the external monitor but when switched over to using Fn + F5 LCD screen, the backlight turns on but there is no display at all, just a black screen lit.

I suspect it is the screen that is past and not on the cord (have a screen on order) so will update here but I just thought that I would keep you updated on the progress.

Has anyone else had this error?

    Steve

    Hello Steve

The fact is that your laptop is a malfunction of the equipment, and it must be fixed by replacement. To ask if anyone has had this fault won't help you a lot. You need to fix it anyway.

My question is: might want to fix you alone?

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS and Windows does not start after the BIOS update

Hello, I extend my Satellite A100 laptop BIOS.

After update, I can't start my laptop and the BIOS will not start.

    You see the Toshiba logo?

Was there a power failure when you updated the BIOS?

Try to remove the battery and the adapter and leave for a few hours. You can also try reinstalling the RAM.

If this does not help, you will need to send it to a Service Center for repair.

  • Satellite A100-590: PXE error at the start of the CD

    Hello

After searching for hours on google and other places without finding any helpful response, I decided to ask here. I hope someone here can help me out.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-590, and I am trying to install Windows XP Pro SP2 MSDNAA from a cd. But whenever I try to boot from it, I get the following error message:

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.

and it starts the already installed Windows XP Home Edition. On several boards of people say that this is caused by the boot loader tries to start from a network and not being able to find a server to boot from. I tried all the stuff like setting up LAN to the last item in the startup list, but nothing helps... any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The PXE error occurs if the device tries to start first on the LAN.
I put t know how you boot from the CD, but I recommend to change the boot order in the BIOS. LAN Boot option must be set at the end of the order and the CD at the beginning.

    Check it out.

-Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
-wait for about 30-40 min, also try a longer period
-then reconnect the two parts to the laptop and try to turn on the machine

If it helps then you are already lucky, if not well: (.) You will need to contact the ASP guy in your country for assistance

  • Satellite L670 - screen don't market not 'start '.

I'm trying to fix the laptop named. The problem is that the screen start not (still empty) when I press the power button. I can hear the fan running and if I put a cd/dvd in the drive I can hear it turn. The problem occurs randomly and finally a few days then I can start the laptop normally, windows 7 loads normally and the only problem is overheating. However on the next working the same problems again.

I tried to remove the battery and the power cable and pressing the Start button for Tip 1-2 minutes, but it doesn't seem to work. When he did load I scanned it against viruses and hardware problems (with various tools, but nothing has been found). I used thin program drivers to update some drivers but still no result.

I tried to connect another monitor, but once again the two screen remains blank.

    What could be the problem?

    Satellite L670 (European model)

You mentioned the problem of overheating.
I guess it could be the main reason why the laptop does not work correctly.

The high internal temperature can affect the internal parts as mother and CPU, graphics card, RAM, card.
I can't say for sure what part may be the troublemaker, but in my opinion this isn't question of display.

For display problems, you should be able to use the laptop as part of the external monitor, but obviously this isn't possible

RAM replacement is not very delicate, it might be useful to test the new RAM modules, but it is a possible troublemaker
There is no guarantee that after the replacement of the RAM, the notebook would work perfectly.

  • Satellite P300 - screen empty since turned on, but sometimes works well

    HELO,

    I have a Toshiba Satellite P300-1F0.
The screen is blank when I turn it on, even the splash screen, and I can't hear the sounds of windows startup.
Although if I turn it on, and besides, it will work after a few tries, sometimes it works the first time, others, I turn on and off like 20 times until he finally started working. When it turns on, it works perfectly.

    I tried:
by pressing the power button for 1 min while the charger and the battery
    Manually check the RAM.
reinstalling and updating graphics and monitor pilot card.
shaking the lid to check if there is a broken cable
but none of these things worked

I also noticed that the computer works with an external monitor (TV) connected via hdmi.
If I turn on the laptop, the screen is blank, no sound Windows played and after a few minutes I plug the cable hdmi, the Tv shows that windows was, and sounds begin to work from there.

When you are connected to the TV, I try to turn on the screen by pressing (windws key + P) but it does not work.
In the menu screen resolution, windows cannot detect the display, only the TV

Can someone help me? What can cause the problem thr?
    A soluction?

    Thank you for your time,
    Adriano

  • Satellite M200 screen turns off after that start & battery does not charge

Hello, I am from Jakarta, Indonesia
I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite M200 Notebook (running Windows 7 Home Premium)

After I press the power button to the top of my laptop, it works fine display BIOS and Windows startup screen.
but after that my monitor off all of a sudden when Windows is supposed to show the login screen.

    Sometimes, the monitor doesn't turn off, but shows a lower resolution (I don't know exactly what resolution, 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, i use maybe 1280 x 800)
so the only thing I can do is, press the power button to stop bad then press power again turns on, my monitor works normally
try to stop and then turn on again in a few hours later, problems still comes once.

from the moment where I install Windows 7, I use 8.15.10.1930 version of the driver (downloaded from Download Center of Intel, which included Assistant TV Intel)
2 days ago, my friend told me that I should install the driver from the Toshiba site support, so I went to csd.toshiba.com and download the 8.15.10.1825 version of this site (which is not included Assistant TV Intel)

my monitor works normally after I installed the driver I of csd.toshiba.com, so I think that the problem because the Intel TV Wizard somehow messed with my laptop. But this morning this problem once again, my turns just monitor suddenly...

In addition, this problem seems to be my battery was unable to recharge, my completely reloaded Windows shows, but when I plugged my AC adapter,
There are 15-20 minutes before my laptop turns off automatically

Three months ago, I just brought my laptop to the local Service Center of Toshiba and bought the new motherboard to replace my old mobo (which have a VGA problem too!)
Is there something I can do (related to Windows or driver/software) or I can bring my notebook at the center of service again?
are they somehow an incorrect wiring when replacing my motherboard?
and am I need to replace my battery too?

I use this laptop for about a year and a half and there is nothing wrong with my battery before replacing the motherboard

any help would be appreciated :D

    Hello

Talk about your screen, the a graphics driver causes this malfunction with resolution and turn off. Go to the page of the toshiba driver and download the correct Vga driver for your model. I see, you are running Windows 7, if there is no driver for win7, try the vista driver.
On your power supply, you have used for the year and a half and he is released in 20 minutes, there is nothing strange. It's standard for power supply operating period, need to be replaced. Just to be sure, you can check with a new battery. You will see that the trick works as expected.

    Hello

I have two problems. I have an A100 and when I leave the screen on during a long time without moving the mouse, the screen doesn't come back and I know that it has not entered the previous day that pressing on the power button does not work.

I really need help! Thank you can I email with an answer [email protected]

  • Satellite A100 - screen has stopped working

    Hello

yesterday in vista, he said that he detected an external monitor, even if I never used any external monitor to my laptop. In display properties, he said I had several monitors and in Device Manager it says that I had a pnp and a monitor not Plug-and-Play...

The screen has stopped working after a reboot. I see nothing on the screen during the loading process indicating normally the toshiba and the vista loading screen. But once vista has started (the sound still works), the screen works again.

This has me worried and I reinstalled vista from the cd, but now the screen never... never.
But I know that vista has been correctly installed that after what he asked, can I still use alt + f4 and enter to stop.

Well, I can't even make troubleshooting procedures on my own that never, the screen now works. -.-
Does anyone have experience with this?

    Hello

I've never heard of such question it s so very interesting to hear about this issue. Given that you never connected an external monitor, it must be something else...
Did you ever done some update the BIOS on this machine?

Maybe, if you have some, this could be the problem. Otherwise, I have a work around (it could be useful):

Remove the AC adapter and the battery from the machine and leave the machine for some time (1-2 hours). Then, start the machine and check if it works.

If this isn't the case, then you must send your machine to the service since it could be a serious hardware problem (I mean if you really reinstalled vista and problems persist after the reinstallation, then it IS definitely a hardware problem).

You can also try some update BIOS if it is not already done...

    Welcome them

  • Why do Satellite A100 screen flashes when turned off?

    Hello
I have a toshiba A100, Go 7600 Gpu, just bought there is two weeks and im very pleased with the quality and performance far :), just noticed one thing today, the room was turned off and the laptop turns off with the screen in open position, I leave it open normally when at home, I noticed that the screen flashes as fixed every 1 min in what appears to be an interval of time with or without AC connected, not a flash very bright but not easy to notice, but I'm sure the flash, so my question is should I worry about this? Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

What do you mean with the screen? The LCD internal? Maybe you didn t stop the machine itself.

I also suggest you update your bios and your drivers, maybe it s just a software related issue...

Here´s a link to find the bios and latest drivers for your computer:
