Satellite A100: WLAN not working after 'down' grading from Vista to XP

Hello

I have a laptop A100 with system of operating pre-installed Vista. Vista was so slow that I decided to remove it and install XP SP2 OEM.

Everything seems to work fine except Networking (WiFi). The only carte_reseau that I can see in the material form is a 1394 adapter, no wireless adapter.
I tried to download all the XP drivers on the Toshiba site (using my mobile office), but it did not help.
Can anyone help?

Bernard.

Hello

As already suggested that you need to check if the unknown device has been listed in the device under network adapters Manager.

If there is an unknown device, you need to install the RIGHT WLan driver.

If there is any unknown device and a WLan card must be

    Besides what abdelhak says:

    The message of PXE boot that you receive when you start your computer has nothing to do with your CD/DVD-Rom drive. Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it. If it slows down the startup time of your system, contact your manufacturer and ask them for instructions on how to "disable PXE Network Boot of the BIOS.

    Hope this helps,

    I found this before a year ago but I can't find him. It's a program that will enable the touchpad after going from Vista to XP.

    Hi magicman77,

    1. you try to perform disk error checking on the drive on which Windows is installed?

    I suggest you to schedule chkdsk /r to reboot following the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:

    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    b. type the following command and press ENTER:

    Chkdsk /r

    c. When you are prompted to schedule chkdsk at the next reboot, type 'Y' (without the quotes) and press ENTER.

    d. restart the computer.

    WARNING:

    I am a user of Satelite A100-192. Yesterday I installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my laptop. After installation, I realized 'Fn' and media player function keys buttons on my laptop keyboard do not work. What can be the problem?

    Hello

    Who knows? It s not easy to say what's wrong.
    Satellite A100-192 belongs to the PSAA9E series.

    All the drivers, tools and utilities need to be downloaded from the series on the right. Choose this model number!

    On the page of Tosh, you will also find the Installation Instructions. The drivers must be installed in that order. This is important.

    Hi Mick,

    Have you installed new Service Pack 3 for Windows XP? This is important because it contains many important updates.

    After the installation of Service Pack 3, you can start with the installation of the driver. Everything you download from the site Web of Toshiba.
    It is also important that you install the chipset driver.

  • Satellite A50 does not work after BIOS update

    Hi all
    I tried to Flash my BIOS through windows such as recommended on my website of the manufacturer of the laptop (Toshiba). I guess that the process was not as after only 2 hours still "don't interrupt" message displayed. I had to force power off of my PC. Now it is not initialized.
    The Laptio is Toshiba SA50-114, series of satellites. Model n - PSA50E

    I tried the suggestions in the following link
    http://askiris.Toshiba.com/ToshibaSu...200%2035586212
    However, it did not work.

    However, I don't have the disk recovery and file/ROM BIOS tool. Have tried to search on the internet, but without any result.

    Can someone help me please
    1. How can I update the BIOS to get my PC to running back.

    2. to turn towards links where I can find the files in the link above.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards

    > 1. How can I update the BIOS to get my PC to running back.
    Not possible if your ROM BIOS module was bad flashed.
    If you are a lucky man only the ROM module must be flashed again using a special procedure. But this can be done by a service provider authorized in your country.

    > 2. Point me to the links where I can find the files in the link above.
    There is no link! You need to ask to help ASP.

  • Re: Computer laptop Satellite U does not work after BIOS update

    I was updating my BIOS.

    My computer restarted abruptly, saying: there was a problem and that a check should be performed.
    After reaching 100%, he's stuck. I waited for a while, but eventually it turned off.

    When I rebooted, it stopped working correctly.
    The screen, keyboard and USB ports do not work.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Hello

    Looks like something was wrong during the update of the BIOS.
    In this case the module ROM was flashed properly and therefore your laptop cannot start properly.

    I think the BISO ROM must be flashed again, but this can be done by a Toshiba ASP because guys have had a trad-BIOS version that is necessary to Flash the ROM module

    Good luck

  • Dell Inspiron 1750, Windows 7: HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GT10N not working after critical updates from MS

    I'm having a problem with my Player DVD - HL - DT - ST DVD +-RW GT10N.  I have a Dell Inspiron 1750, Windows 7.

    It was working fine, then after 3 critical updates from MS, it stopped reading/writing on the DVD player.  The only way I can access the DVD (read or write) is to restart.  A subsequent loading of different or even the same DVD finished with the issue of not being able to recognize the DVD.

    When I click on the properties of the DVD drive in Device Manager, it clocks.  However, after a reboot, the properties has worked well and said that the driver does not work properly.

    I got to the period before 1st update was installed and the DVD player worked as before.  However, Ms. downloaded the same (I assume) updated critical shortly after.  Low and behold, the DVD player does not work yet.

    The MS CD/DVD patch could not fix.

    I also tried UpperFilters/LowerFilters regedit deletions, but it is impossible to find these entries (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}).  Thank you Osprey4 for your help continues.

    OEM and retail licenses:

    If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

    The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
    You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

    If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
    But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

    A single license is a single Installation.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Installation of XP instead of Vista:
    Come on first, site of the manufacturer of your computer, check to see if your model computer has XP drivers available for it...
    If the XP drivers are not available for your model, forget the idea.
    If Yes, download and save to a CD or Flash drive.
    Then buy a disc XP and license.
    Save all your data because it will be lost during the installation of XP.
    Then follow the steps below to do a clean install.
    http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp
    Once installed, reload ALL your other programs of original media, or download again.
    Reload all drivers and utilities for your motherboard.
  • Satellite A100-062: I would like to downgrade from Vista to XP
    OK, I'm helping a friend who has two Toshiba laptops, about 5 months (with XP) and another with Vista. For various reasons: lack of support of pilots for its 2 years, printer, the software does not not etc. - I would like to 'downgrade' the new laptop to XP. The model is a Satellite A100-062.
    Is it as simple as just install XP and Vista (good riddance) - crush or am I'm going to have problems with a lack of Toshiba XP drivers for this particular machine?
    Thanks in advance
    Hello
    > Is as simple as just install XP and Vista (good riddance) - crush or am I'm going to run in
    > problems with a lack of Toshiba XP drivers for this particular machine?
    Well, on the page of the Toshiba driver you will only find the Vista drivers.
    But don t worry the A100 many different A100 series notebooks were shipped with the same hardware specification.
    I simply recommend you test different drivers from different series Satellite A100 and Equium A100.
    Additional information on the Tip:
    Why you n t create a second partition on the laptop and install the XP operating system as a second operating system.
    In this case, you can use the two BONES.
    What do you think???
