Satellite A105-4094 display - only half screen problem

So my screen is showing half, it is a compressed version of the full screen.
The right of the screen is turned on, but all black and just after the point halfway on the left side is a bunch of image then a strip of black before you see the compressed image.

The output works very well for an external. I know that this is not the video card. I reinstalled the Bios updated, and I tried to use powerstrip.
I'm sure it's a software problem as in system devices that my screen appears as flat digital display with a maximum of 1024 x 768 resolution, but the native is 1200 x 800 and it used to describe something else as internal computer monitor toshiba laptop.

No driver hasn't solved the problem and I can't find a similar problem anywhere!
Anyone has any ideas of what this could be?

He used to do this and a restart would fix it sometimes, but now it's just stuck like that.
If you need photos, I take screen shots later, but I have no available right now...

You have an Intel graphics card?

If so, go to the control panel and access the Intel Graphics Manager.

Here you have to select the display settings and try to put it in full screen (without borders)

If the problem is related to the software then this accelerated procedure should help you.

But the problem could be related to a hardware problem too

In this case he needed a help of ASP.

Good bye

  • Inspiron 530 s displays only half screen via HDMI or DVI

I have a strange problem that I'm seeing with an Inspiron 530 s that I'm trying to get up and running again.  It seems to work fine if I use the default VGA port, but if I try to connect it to a TV via HDMI or DVI, it only appears on half of the screen.  The left side of the screen looks normal (be it screens start Dell or actually in Windows).  The right side of the screen is a series of vertical lines.

I checked the video card isn't the issue.  I swapped another video card in and it does the same thing.  Both cards work fine in another machine.  I also checked the TV working properly.

I hung the 530 s on a normal 17 "monitor via the VGA port and I see the entire screen.

The version of the BIOS is 1.0.0.18 that I understand to be the latest version.

I really want to get this working, but I'm not sure what to look at this point.

Other tests established that the 530 s as well as the 531 s (which I could test on both) must have problems with some video cards.  Once I established that the question could be reproduced on both models, I decided that this must be an incompatibility problem rather than a problem with the motherboard.

I decided to try to get Windows installed despite the half of the screen.  Once I had Windows installed, I changed the resolution to the native resolution of the TV (1366 x 768) and the damaged screen went away.  Somehow, it was fixed even if I rebooted the machine, at this time there and I was able to navigate through the BIOS with a normal screen.  In fact, I was not able to reproduce the problem again until completely stop the machine and remove the power completely.  After that, the machine would still start with display messed up, which would remain until when you start Windows, it changed the resolution of the screen at native resolution and there again it would be "fixed".

The video card is not really new, but I think that it may have been written in a more recent specification of the standard PCI-E that this motherboard can be expected.  If I were so inclined, I could probably find a video card that does not have this problem, but instead, I think I'll just this weird issue.

    Display Toshiba SP6000 (?) Problem

I am not a technician, but I assume that there is probably a problem with the video card. I'm afraid there is not much to do. You should contact the service and make them run tests to verify the functionality of the video card. If the card is faulty, just replacement will help.

  • Satellite A105-S2194 acknowledges that half of the installed RAM.

    Hello

I have a Satellite A105-S2194 I bought in January 2007 from Walmart. It came with a single stick of PC - 4200 512 MB of RAM. Later this year, I bought a 1 GB of RAM PC-4200 (Crucial memory) key, so it has been read 1.5 G since then. Last week, I bought another stick of 1 GB of RAM (Kingston), which is PC-5300. Today, I installed the second stick, and when I started, it shows only 1 GB of memory in the BIOS and Ubuntu.

If I take one of the sticks out (any), then it also shows 1 GB. This isn't a case of the PC-5300 is not not retro-compatible.

    Then I have three questions.

1 is actually able to give me 2 (as advertised in different memory online configurators) GB the laptop?
    2. the fact that I mix PC-4200 and PC-5300 the reason why it does not show 2 GB now?
    3. If it's the fact that I mix speeds, should I buy another PC-4200 (which was originally installed) or another PC-5300 (I'm leaning toward the 5300, since that would mean only two brand new sticks as opposed to one that is 4 years old and a brand new).

Thanks, and have a great day :)
    Patrick.

In your case the problem is compatibility.

Please visit THIS page and clck on detailed specifications. You will find all necessary information on your laptop and also part of the compatible memory modules number al.

    My answers to your questions:
    # Yes.
    # Probably
    # Use two modules with the same specifications. (PC-4200)

  • Satellite A105 - 1/3 of the screen freezes regularly

I have a Satellite A105 and the lower part of the 1/3 of the screen freezes regularly, but the top 2/3 of the screen is perfectly fine.
After pressing the lower part of the screen or the border around the bottom of the screen for a while, it will go back to normal.
After the slightest movement, it will begin to go haywire again.
I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a problem with the screen or would it be the inverter?

The inverter provides simply for the backlight voltage, he can't knock out 1/3 of the image.

The problem is more likely to be the Module LCD or LCD Cable screen.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Google maps only half screen now on Storm 2

I recently found my cards are only half of the screen, with keyboard, refusing to go on the other half. Also can not display maps in landscape mode. This has made them much less useful. I don't see enough of the card to be able to guide me. That's happened? I used to have a map full screen. I can't seem to find this topic anywhere and am unable to find any help on my BBy.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

Go to Options > Applications, locate the entry of Google Maps, highlight it and press the BB Menu key.  Find the option to turn off compatibility mode, and you should be set.

  • Only half page - problem in Internet Explorer

    Hi all

I have a page being opened in my main application in a new window, almost like a popup. The page seems to be made entirely, as in the xml code is all there for the components.

The problem is that only half of the page is displayed by the browser. Halfway the window remains my page is simply cut off. You can even click around and use components that are supposed to be there, so its fully functional but half of the content is simply invisible / is not properly displayed by IE.

This "popup window" works as expected in other browsers. Also, play with the size of our panels and containers does not appear to have an effect. Have you all seen a problem like this for specifically Adf in specific browsers? How can I determine if it is manipulation of EI to part that causes this, or something else entirely?

    Appreciate any advice! Thank you.

That's the problem with the way you have laid out the component. Best way is, border with colors and see how it gets returned, which would give you an idea on what to the difficulty. Then, see if you have all your components under a stretch throw or if not a group panel layout with layout as book. Maybe this would help.

    Good luck!

  • Windows that display only half of the disk capacity

I have a new laptop HP EliteBook with Windows 7 SP1 is installed. SSD has 500 GB, but the system is only half of the disk capacity show.

What can we do?  Thank you.

CHKDSK discovered...  0 KB in bad sectors. 719099 KB in use by the system. 65536 KB occupied by the log file. 89854676 KB available on disk. 4 096 bytes in each allocation units total 60636159 the disk allocation unit. 22463669 allocation units available on disk.

Coincidentally reduce then extend the volume again?

CHKDSK is essentially a tool of file system and the capacity of the disc that you see in the Explorer disc property is actually the size of the file system rather than the physical size of the volume, the physical size of the volume is based on the head of sector, while the size of the file system is based on the number of clusters (allocation units).  The file system has a total of clusters 60636159 x 4096 bytes = 248,365,707,264 bytes.

Different size according to the different tools are both correct, but the file system is not using the entire partition, you need to extend the file system with the Diskpart tool.

At a command prompt, enter the following commands:

    C:\ > DISKPART
    DISKPART > list Volume
DISKPART > select volume c (here, you can use the figures given by the Volume of the order list or use the actual letter of the volume, in your case 'c')

    DISKPART > extend filesystem
    DISKPART > exit (exit Diskpart)

Here is a screenshot of the procedure:

The file system extension is relatively safe, but as always you should ensure that you have a good backup of your files before doing any kind of work of system disk/partition or file.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - multiple display after Exchange screen problem

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro PSPA6A-028017 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS

OK, here's the story. I turned on my laptop about a week ago and the screen is blank. I plugged in a monitor external via AVI and tried Fn + F5, but nothing. When the computer reboots, the external screen worked. When I tried to turn on/off displays the external monitor is turned off and I found myself with an empty screen - I was obviously spent on screen of the laptop but working blind, I couldn't work out how to get the external monitor to start again. FN + F5 did nothing.

At that point, I called Toshiba for the support of the warranty (on-site, next business day). They had a technician with new monitor/display on site the next day (after a few calls me to follow up). It has replaced the screen but struggled to lift the screen up and running. He finally managed to logon Windows safe mode and get running but only display on 800 x 600. It has updated the Bios and drivers. He could then up to the 1024 x 768 resolution. Highest and the screen would be left empty.

At that time we plugged in an external monitor via VGA. It worked, but the technician couldn't get the each display to run on each resolution. He left him speechless and he acknowledged that things still are not good. Later, after that the technician had left, I managed to get views working so each to their own resolution. However, I could not always connect the external monitor via DVI (VGA only). I was at least temporarily to work!

The next morning that I turned the laptop on to find that I was back was started. No display on the laptop and on the external monitor only low resolution. It seems that the external monitor is simply cloning which should show the computer screen.

Under the display properties > settings the display shows:
    1. (multiple screens) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
2 Dell G2410 (Analog) on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

I know that when everything is working properly, he said not many monitors. The only screen I see is the Dell external monitor. And when I identify the Dell screen is no 1, even if it's not listed number 2.

I don't know anything about the cards video etc, but a theory I have is that adapter is defective and is only show the analog signal. That is why I think that the screen of the laptop and external monitor (connected via DVI) works not done the external monitor connected via VGA (but it seems to be imitating the screen of the computer, allowing only the laptop screens range of resolution). Is that possible?

Someone at - it ideas? The problem is likely to be the video card? I'm puzzled. I'll have to get the technician on the spot back (which will probably still 2 days and several calls, follow-up) and I don't want to lose any time. I have a business to run and I have now lost a weeks work already. If I can offer some strong theories before the technician comes on the spot, sometimes we can get parts ordered in advance.

My warranty expires in a few weeks, so obviously I want this fixed correctly in the shortest time. I don't want to wait 2 days for a technician to come and have to wait another day or two for parts.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

It is not easy to offer the correct answer and explanation why this happens here on the forum. In laptop cases should be tested with diagnostic tools to ensure that what is the problem.
OK, exchange of display was a step in the right direction but, of course, this question is more complicated and doesn t happen due to the defective screen only.

I agree with Akuma and also thinking that there must be a hardware problem on the motherboard. Before the expiration of the warranty, you should contact the service again and let check portable equipment.
The fact is, if there is that no book of hardware malfunction should work fine preinstalled with delivered recovery image (Toshiba CD/DVD recovery facilities).

Please, don't wait too long and contact ASAP. They check your laptop. the warranty is still valid and your laptop needs to be repaired.

    Good luck!

  • Displays only half a page and screen reads "Document cannot be printed."

    Hello

I use the printer HP K5400 on a Windows XP PC. I have problems consistent when I print documents from any software I use for example Word, PDF and images. When I try to print, the printer prints half a page, then spits out another page with weird symbols on top. After a few seconds it then prints a test to white, followed by the original document, I tried to print in its entirety. When I start to print, a bubble on the screen tells me that the document cannot print. This problem applies only to this PC the printer works perfectly with other laptops. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer and the usual in him reconnecting and resetting the computer, but none worked. How can I solve this problem?

    Your comments would be appreciated

    Hello iloveprinters14,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

I would like to help with the problem you posted on the HP K5400 is not printing Windows XP complete documents. It is good to know that it will work from other laptops.

I wish you first download and run this critical update to correct a PC Printer Communication issue. After the end I want you to run the print HP and Scan Dr. let me know if everything goes, if something breaks down or if something is set during printing and scanning Dr.

  • Satellite A105-S4274 has only a black screen

Screen saver burst on the laptop and I closed it.
Open it back up and the screen is blank.
It starts at the splash screen and stays black. I can boot into SafeMode ok. I guess it's a video thing. I have the chipset for the installation, but I get no info in the settings of the card, only this...
    chip type: not available
    DAC type: unavailable
    memory size: not available
channel of the card: not available
    BIOS information: not available

What is going on. I'm doing something wrong? Thank you

    Hi mate,

you said screensaver is appeared and firm. This means, after the loading of the screensaver, your computer crashed? Then you the switched on again ("Opened it back up and the screen was empty.") and no photo was available.

Moreover, operating system you have? Please, give a better and a MORE DETAILED description since it s impossible to solve a problem without any information. What do you have before the problem happened? You have installed some new software/drivers/etc and so on.

    I'm waiting for your answer.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L300 PSLB8A display, only a black screen

    Hi guys

Please help if you can; This morning I turned on my laptop (Satellite L300 PSLB8A-04R004 running Vista family) and all I get is a black screen.

I tried removing the battery and turn on while plaugged in the power supply, same black screen.

I tried to remove the battery then replace after 10 minutes, but the same black screen. All the power lights are on (but non-corps House).

I tried everything suggested in support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?

    Thank you.

    > I have tried everything proposed in the support on the site page, but thought that you guys might have the answer?
Seems that you have already tried a workaround solution that I would recommend.
Disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery, wait 1 hour or more.
Reconnect the two parts and then try to switch on the appliance.

If that does not help, then you might try to start the device using a single module of RAM.
    Maybe it's a question of s a RAM...

Otherwise it s necessary to test the material parts and run diagnostic checks.
This can be done by a Toshiba ASP.

  • Satellite Pro M10: Display of the strange problem

I have a M10 Pro of the Satellite with 14 inch display is 6 weeks out of warranty.

The other day, I got cold room and the display went funny - odd pixels, green and black with small points which then becomes more clear screen so that the entire screen is a mixture of points fluorescent which becomes white and then things come back.

Then, the cycle repeats itself after a few seconds.

I perform a restart and everything's going well for a while, and then it restarts. I move the laptop in a cold room and it's ok again. I can't understand that the issue occurs on Windows XP and SUSE 9.0 (although it just hangs). I have run SpyBot, have the latest virus checkers, the update of Windows (SP2) and NVidia drivers.

    Any ideas?

Seemed to have solved the problem by dismantling the machine, could not do not get all the way and completely remove the top from the bottom as there seems to be a hidden screw. Everything is fine now, could have been the fact that some of the screws were loose.

Also had a full SpyBot and Virus Check.

I also had to re - save under a different name, since it is "Specific country" even if I thought that I had, I now have three profiles - two I created recently, and one I could not remember the username for, would be really better if password request tells you the user name to an e-mail address it is registered. It's really hard to keep track of them so I have a lot of connections as a computer scientist. Really really annoying and stupid system.

I have a laptop computer L50 - A Satellite. Almost, I disabled the touch-pad - the cursor is now worked by a mouse, but if I happen to touch the touchpad while typing, all kinds of things happen, and I'd rather it off altogether. Very difficult to get answers so that my head is screwing around trying to read the screen! Any help much appreciated.
