Satellite A105 - connectivity Wi - Fi issues

Hello, I hope someone here can give me some advice.

It seems that my laptop is unable to connect to Internet wireless after that I tried to quarantine and remove a pack of malware which itself recently installed. Everything worked perfectly until after that I removed the malware.

As it is, I can always connect to the Internet and surf when you are using a wired connection with ethernet cable to connect to the local network (so I'm still able to post here since the infected PC) However, the wireless can not get Internet connectivity at all, (not ping to sites at all when I try from the command prompt) even if he can still connect to the WLAN through the router (but for) do I have to manually set the IP address and DNS settings, if I let it automatically put, it connects to the wireless network without properly; I get "limited or no connectivity") I think that the malware may have messed with the Winsock LSP, but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyone able to help me out here?

Hello

In my opinion, you should check the settings of TCP/IP to the WiFi connection.
Go to network-> wireless-> properties network connection

There, you have to select TCP/IP and go to properties.
All settings in the TCP/IP protocol should be set to automatically get.

Another tip; Start the console (CMD) and use the command: ipconfig / renew
This will renew the ip address pool and should also renew your local IP address that could solve the limited or no connectivity problem.

    Hello

Have you tried to update the drivers of USB port?

    You should try this;
-Disconnect all USB devices the USB ports.
-Go to the Device Manager and remove all the USB root hub and all USB host controllers.
    -Restart the laptop

After this procedure, the Windows operating system should recognize and should install the USB ports again. After restarting again you must connect only USB devices and must verify if they will work properly!

  • Subject: Driver issues in Satellite A105-S4064

I recently had to wipe a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064 of my fiance because of many viruses and spyware. I did the reinstall with XP pro. She had none of its original CD that came with the laptop, so I had to try to download all my drivers on Toshiba USA website. I was able to get the wireless, LAN, and Audio devices installed successfully by pilots on the Web site. I am only able to find a NVIDIA driver on the Toshiba site but when I try to run the setup it's just errors out because the display device is not a NVIDIA product.

The thing that got me really confused was that I checked Device Manager before I wiped the initial installation and the display driver that was listed was a Mobile Intel (R) 945 GM. I went on the Intel site and downloaded their Intel 945GM Express chipset family drivers but the following devices still have points of exclamation mark next to them in my device manager: display the device software modem and mass storage device driver. I searched high and low on the Toshiba site and cannot find the drivers that appear to work correctly. Can someone help me find the drivers I need to get the last of my devices installed correctly? Thank you very much for your time, I appreciate your help!

You are right. I checked the specifications of the laptop and it is listed Intel Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Chip. I really don't understand why the NVIDIA card is listed on the download page.

In any case when you want to install the drivers, you must follow a sequence of installations. After the installation of the OS, you need to install driver chipset first. After doing this display driver installation. Continue with sound, modem, and LAN driver.

According to this order of facilities, everything should be OK.

  • Satellite A105 freezes after loaded Windows xp

    I have a Satellite A105 - S4074.
The operating system loads then freezes.

I tried safe mode and ran the error checking and defragmentation. I tried the config sys and when the system is loaded, then freezes.
I have the week last to system load and have an internet connection. But it froze again the next day.

I can't get a consistent performance. I have windows xp media center. I've recently upgraded ram to 4 GB.
What are my options? I lost the original restore disks.

I'm ready to reformat the hard drive if necessary.

    > I recently upgraded ram to 4 GB.
Have you checked if the laptop would freeze using the old RAM modules?
If this isn't the case, then you should check this!

In many cases of bad, no compatible or defective modules could cause these issues

  • Re: Satellite A105 - seeing of power started flashing orange/battery not charging

I have a satellite A105-4054, which gave excellent service. Yesterday, the orange started power light flashing and ceased to charge the battery. I had a second freshly charged battery, that I used instead and the power led still flashes in orange.

I checked the Original Toshiba charger that came with the device, with a voltmeter and it shows 15 volts, which is correct. The laptop starts normally with a freshly charged battery, but it does not load when it is plugged and the power light flashes orange constantly. If I remove the battery and leave the laptop plugged in, continually amber power light flashes and nothing happens (no voltage). I'd be happy to run just the laptop on AC, but it is not possible now

The toshiba power utility system icon, when the laptop is started on the new battery, flushing back and forth between the load and the battery, and the battery does not seem to charge. Previously, the power utility would show current alternative continuously when the unit is connected and the power light stay blue.

I love the laptop, because he rendered services superb and would like to keep. All reasonable solutions, please?

    Thanks guys (and girls)!

On this virtual path, no one can say with certainty what the problem, but after reading your detailed ad, I think there is problem with electronic power supply on the motherboard. Technicians with tools only special diagnostic can say with certainty what the problem is here.

In my opinion there is not a lot you can do about it, and in this case, entire motherboard must be exchanged. If you want to contact the nearest authorized maintainer, explain the situation and I hope that they can tell you more.

  • Satellite A105-S2141 - software compatibility problem Modem region

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2141 computer laptop bought in the United States. I am currently in a small country knowm as "Maldives" and unable to successfully connect and use the modem connection.

The selection of region internal modem utility does not include the Maldives in the list and if I select a random country as "current location" I can connect only if I keep the speed of the modem at 2400. What should do? I tried the upgrade, but no uogrades are available. Other computers can connect normally on the same telephone line.

Kindly advice. Is there another available modem which can be downloaded? Any other loophole?

    Hello

You don't need to use this utility select region of preinstalled modem.
You can choose the Maldives using own settings of Windows.

Choose Control Panel-> Phone & Modem Options->-> my position (Edit button)-> country (Maldives) dialing rules

On the Modem tab, you can choose the modem you are using and can check the properties. Here, you can set the maximum port to a higher speed.

Cheers and enjoy yourself on Maldives... big Islands... I wish that I would have enough time and money for the holiday he...

  • ENERGY SAVING does not work! Satellite A105

Please read very carefully, as I tried to make it as detailed as possible. I had this problem before, and when I installed the new BIOS driver, it fixed itself. I'm not so lucky this time. Also, please AVOID recommending to use my recovery CD, because I know, it is possible to solve this problem without it, and the restore CD is the easy/practical answer on how to solve this problem.

OK, so I just installed the new BIOS software, and now my TOSHIBA Power Saver won't work. I use a Satellite A105-S4284 on Windows XP SP2. When I start the computer, I get this message:

    TPSODDCtl.exe - Ordinal not found
The 21 ordinal not found in dynamic link TPSMainCtl.dll library.
    Ok

I know that this refers to the power of Eve, but I don't know what to do about this.

In addition, I searched other forums on this issue. When I open the control panel and switch to Classic view, TOSHIBA Power Saver icon is there. I double click on it, and I get this message:

Cannot open, as "TOSHIBA Power Saver" is not running.
In order to run it, please open "Power Options" in the Control Panel, then choose "TOSHIBA Power Saver" in the list box "Power schemes" on Page "power schemes".
    Ok

I open power options, and toshiba power sleep mode is already selected. I tried to apply another and switching back, but this did not help.

I tried to reinstall both the power of Eve AND the common modules on the site of TOSHIBA drivers, and which did not help. I tried to uninstall the energy saver all together, and I get this error message:

Cannot locate the Setup log 'C:\Program Toshiba Saver\uninst.isu. Uninstallation will not continue.

I opened the saving folder in the location above, and there are two files: TPSTrace (a plain text file) and TPwrSetup. $$$ (Note: the ' $' are not mistakes, that's what he said). The plain text file contains this message:

A fatal error has occurred. The program will end. Code: 0x45A location: TPSDel.cpp (230)

Help, please! Thanks in advance for all time!

Looks like something in your system is really messed up. Because you won´t be advised to recover your machine, so I can't give you any suspicion because that would REALLY be the one and the only option to solve this problem.

If some software Toshiba uninstall NOT etc then it won´t repair itself, or it can be sorted out by re-installled or force too install apps...
Maybe you make you a few remarks and then save your files in order to recover your machine?

Would be the best method. Otherwise: good luck!

    Greetings

  • Satellite A105 may have shorted

I made a blunder. I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S206, and I'll make this as brief as possible. I had a series of very cheap power supplies that I used.

The more recent stopped working last week, and I traced the break in the PS somewhere just before the connector that goes on the laptop. I have grafted a connector by an old power on this PS, think that would solve the problem.

After that I connected these wires together, in this whole setup test, think I have shorted out the power supply and the laptop.

Today, a brand new PS arrived in the mail. To plug into the laptop, I see sparks when the connector going in, but no power light, on the laptop.

Does anyone have an explanation as to what this could be and especially how I can get this to work. It comes to my work computer, and so I need to use it.

    Thank you

    Hello

It does not seem good buddy.
I mean if you see sparks when connecting the power adapter for laptop, there must be something wrong with the DC-in socket on the mobo or similar
I think only a laptop computer technician could help you.

Sorry but I don't have any other ideas for you, but to contact the ASP in your country for the verification of the material

  • Satellite A105-s4254 - Windows XP Pro drivers

    Hello

Caused by a virus, I recently had to re - install Windows XP Pro on my Satellite A105, lose a lot of my pilots in the process.

I was able to find and reinstall most of them, but I still have no sound, cannot connect to a local network and don't have no "standby".

  • My Satellite A105 is waste of time

    Hello

I have a Satellite A105-S4094. Last week, I noticed that he lost time. He has been trolling for more than 30 minutes each time.

Anyone know why this would happen and how to fix it?

BRIXX may agree. Connect your laptop to the power adapter and leave it 48 hours connected to the power supply.

The BIOS battery may be empty.

    I have a laptop series Satellite A105-S2061.

Are there patches known for this problem?

    Hello

What application is causing this error message?
What is the Toshiba Power Saver?

If so, then try to reinstall again the energy saver.

If the message will always be present while a radical solution can be successful; It would be the Toshiba Recovery disk and you need to reinstall new OS

I m do not know if this issue has something to do with SP3 or not, but maybe there is a problem of compatibility with some applications installed and SP3.

  • In Satellite A105-S2236 RAM upgrade problems

I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.

I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.
