Satellite A105-S4004 - audio skipping CD

I have a Toshiba A105 with DVD multi disc player recorder.
When I got the laptop in 2006 CD and DVD played fine without skipping audio, but now, I noticed audio CD to jump unless I have to pull them up on my computer.
Then I tried a DVD and the picture is fine, but the sound skips unless I use DVD shrink and save the movie on my computer.

How can I fix this.
I really want to watch DVDs on my computer.
I used a cd laser lens cleaner and that didn't seem to do anything.
I've also updated my device driver realtek audio.

I've defragged, clean cookies, temporary files, etc., I have scanned for viruses, etc.
Now, I don't know what else to do to solve the problem.

Help, please!

EDIT: I also checked to make sure that the IDE channels were to DMA if available.

That s a little strange and I presume that this problem could be related to a defective CD/DVD drive.
But first try to remove the drive CD/DVD Device Manager (mark and press DELETE).
Then restart the laptop and wait until the CD/DVD has been recognized again.

After this short work around you could test your audio discs again.

  • Multimedia keys and third party players - Satellite A105-S4004

Actually I don't have any problems with my multimedia buttons. Suffice it to configure them to work for Winamp.

I have a satellite A105-S4004 with 4 (actually 6, if we count the first and the last two) multimedia buttons and I would like to play/pause, stop, and ffw/rew in Winamp, not Windows Media Player, as is its default behavior.

The question is even greater because I know where to set it up, as I start the assistance of Toshiba and I start the Toshiba button control. From there, I click the multimedia tab and I have two menus, which I should be able to select another program for media to work with buttons.

I have Winamp, iTunes, QuickTime, PowerDVD, RealPlayer and same Windows Media Center, none of them appearing on the list. The second list is even worse because I can't choose a DVD player by default program at all (not even win MP).

So, is there something I can do, any third-party program that I could use to help me or any other tool to configure this or a setting that I missed? BTW, I have the latest updates of all the tools of Toshiba, so don't advice upgrade me... been there, done that, nothing...

    YOY ;)

    Hello

I have the U400 and I can use playback, pause and another button with the application installed to WinAmp.

If you want to use these buttons in WinAmp, you must activate the settings of Winamp.

  • Satellite A105-S4284: cracking audio and HiFi

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-s4284. When I play the audio files (wma, mp3, wav), the sound sometimes produced a noise of cracking (scraping) and its VERY VERY annoying, people who share this problem know how disturbing this is, especially when you pay 1,100 euros for a processor core duo with 1 GB ram notebook (what you thought it would be perfect for use).

Is it a hardware problem or something wrong with the drivers? This also occurs with the os preinstalled windows xp media center edition, as well as with xp professional and windows vista.

I took it for repair, but the guys just reinstalled dvds and returned it to me, as it was, I guess it was too hard for them to hear the noise.

In any case, I am VERY disappointed and now I want to just fix this problem...
    Help, please!

Your 105 satellite was designed for the American market and you must always install the software from the US site!
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

Check if the update of the BIOS and the driver for sound card will help you.
    1. bios update then 2. audio driver update

But before you start the update of the BIOS; be sure you use the good BIOS and the proper procedure.
The incorrect BIOS may damage the motherboard!

  • Re: Satellite A105-S2194 a audio driver missing or corrupt

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S2194 that somehow lost its audio driver. He worked week last and then this week his party.

I uninstalled and reinstalled as the help and support on the computer Center said to do, but to no avail.

I have also re-uploaded the driver on the Toshiba site and he says always "No. Audio Driver" or pop up this error message "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ».

I have no idea why I can't get the sound to work.
It says downloading, but when I go back it shows an error.

Anyone with a few useful insite would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

I don't have any idea of what windows operating system you have, but it is a series of Toshiba laptops, we and the necessary drivers are located on the Toshiba U.S. page.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp

Here you can download the latest version of the driver.

In addition, I recommend the deletion of the soundcard from the Device Manager and restart the laptop. If the audio driver has previously been installed correctly then the Windows operating system should recognize the sound card again and the sound should work.

PS: If you are using Win XP then you need to install SP3 * _avant_ * you need to install the sound card driver

  • Satellite A105-S4064 - need drivers XP for LAN, video, Audio

    Hello

I recently had to do a clean install of my Satellite A105-S4064 and have had problems to get the right drivers for it.

On the Toshiba site, it lists only 4 drivers for XP for my model, even if that's what it came installed with. The video driver list and sound do not yet work for me.

I need drivers for the modem, LAN, video, Audio, please.

Any help would be a great help!

    Thank you

    Ken

    Hello

On the page of the Toshiba driver we you can find the right driver for XP graphics card.
At the moment the page provides a display driver nVidia GeForce (v83.02, 19/01/2006)

I also found a driver of his right. It s a Realtek audio driver.
If you need a more recent version, then I recommend to visit the site Web of Realtek and download the newest one.

But note; the XP SP2 operating system needs and before install you the audio driver you must first install the Microsoft Hotfixes; KB888111 and KB835221
After the installation of these two patches, you can follow with another audio driver installation.

It also seems that this notebook would support an Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - 10/100 Base-TX Lan card
So, you can visit the Intel page to get the right Win XP driver for this Lan chip.

    Good bye

  • Subject: Driver issues in Satellite A105-S4064

I recently had to wipe a laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064 of my fiance because of many viruses and spyware. I did the reinstall with XP pro. She had none of its original CD that came with the laptop, so I had to try to download all my drivers on Toshiba USA website. I was able to get the wireless, LAN, and Audio devices installed successfully by pilots on the Web site. I am only able to find a NVIDIA driver on the Toshiba site but when I try to run the setup it's just errors out because the display device is not a NVIDIA product.

The thing that got me really confused was that I checked Device Manager before I wiped the initial installation and the display driver that was listed was a Mobile Intel (R) 945 GM. I went on the Intel site and downloaded their Intel 945GM Express chipset family drivers but the following devices still have points of exclamation mark next to them in my device manager: display the device software modem and mass storage device driver. I searched high and low on the Toshiba site and cannot find the drivers that appear to work correctly. Can someone help me find the drivers I need to get the last of my devices installed correctly? Thank you very much for your time, I appreciate your help!

You are right. I checked the specifications of the laptop and it is listed Intel Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Chip. I really don't understand why the NVIDIA card is listed on the download page.

In any case when you want to install the drivers, you must follow a sequence of installations. After the installation of the OS, you need to install driver chipset first. After doing this display driver installation. Continue with sound, modem, and LAN driver.

According to this order of facilities, everything should be OK.

  • Satellite A105-S2101 - can't watch DVDs with Express Media Player

I have this laptop Satellite A105-S2101, and the LCD breathed on me in two years.

Fortunately, I can still use the VGA and S-video output but it may as well be a desktop PC now. Anyway, I just wanted to add that because of this problem, no longer is I can watch DVDs with Express Media Player because it will not accept VGA or S-video as default is just my broken - up, good for nothing always blurry LCD anyway.
It's only when I'm in Windows mode can I switch to an external monitor.

The reason I'm writing is, if it is necessary to add anything to an EMP update - this is the time and it would be something to add. What the devil?

    Have you tried another player?
I prefer the VLC media player. He plays the most video and audio files, it s freeware and easy to use. Check it!

Have you changed something on your hardware or software configuration before this happened?
Maybe it's time to reinstall the drive Media Express

  • Error e/s on the insertion of a DVD video disc - Satellite A105-S4284

My mother bought a Satellite A105-S4284 during a stay in the States. DVD - RAM UJ - 841S with her drive is set to 1 in the region for DVD playback, I want to get it on region 2. I told myself I have 4 changes left, but I am unable to change it. He asked a zone 2 DVD to be inserted and I have administrator privileges - the two conditions are met, but it refuses to work. I then tried to see if she could read the disc at all, however try to access it from the browser I get an IO error. I checked the disc with a variety of drives, CD-ROM, CD Audio, the Toshiba installation/config DVD etc. all read fine, but not DVD-video. I deleted the DVD RAM driver, sought of firmware updates (cannot find a suitable) and updates of pilot (impossible to find).

I can't work on why he dislikes the video DVD (I tried a lot of discs), even tried with the Media Express Player playback. Because it reads all other formats of discs, it seems unlikely to be a hardware problem, so I think it's a problem with the firmware, but like I said I couldn't find one.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    BTW happy Christmas

    Hello

Do you have the drive to region 2 now?
This might be a reason for the exploration of DVD-related issues.
It would be very interesting to know if it of possible to explore this DVD on the other computer.
Additional I think lots of original DVDs is safe and supports some kind of encryption and, therefore, it s not able to open it with Solution Explorer.

I put t know why you were not able to change the area by car, but perhaps this has something to do with the operating system installed.
Have you tried to install a new OS from an original CD of Microsoft, and then change the region on the drive?

  • Re: Satellite A105 - seeing of power started flashing orange/battery not charging

I have a satellite A105-4054, which gave excellent service. Yesterday, the orange started power light flashing and ceased to charge the battery. I had a second freshly charged battery, that I used instead and the power led still flashes in orange.

I checked the Original Toshiba charger that came with the device, with a voltmeter and it shows 15 volts, which is correct. The laptop starts normally with a freshly charged battery, but it does not load when it is plugged and the power light flashes orange constantly. If I remove the battery and leave the laptop plugged in, continually amber power light flashes and nothing happens (no voltage). I'd be happy to run just the laptop on AC, but it is not possible now

The toshiba power utility system icon, when the laptop is started on the new battery, flushing back and forth between the load and the battery, and the battery does not seem to charge. Previously, the power utility would show current alternative continuously when the unit is connected and the power light stay blue.

I love the laptop, because he rendered services superb and would like to keep. All reasonable solutions, please?

    Thanks guys (and girls)!

On this virtual path, no one can say with certainty what the problem, but after reading your detailed ad, I think there is problem with electronic power supply on the motherboard. Technicians with tools only special diagnostic can say with certainty what the problem is here.

In my opinion there is not a lot you can do about it, and in this case, entire motherboard must be exchanged. If you want to contact the nearest authorized maintainer, explain the situation and I hope that they can tell you more.

  • Satellite A105-S2194 acknowledges that half of the installed RAM.

    Hello

I have a Satellite A105-S2194 I bought in January 2007 from Walmart. It came with a single stick of PC - 4200 512 MB of RAM. Later this year, I bought a 1 GB of RAM PC-4200 (Crucial memory) key, so it has been read 1.5 G since then. Last week, I bought another stick of 1 GB of RAM (Kingston), which is PC-5300. Today, I installed the second stick, and when I started, it shows only 1 GB of memory in the BIOS and Ubuntu.

If I take one of the sticks out (any), then it also shows 1 GB. This isn't a case of the PC-5300 is not not retro-compatible.

    Then I have three questions.

1 is actually able to give me 2 (as advertised in different memory online configurators) GB the laptop?
    2. the fact that I mix PC-4200 and PC-5300 the reason why it does not show 2 GB now?
    3. If it's the fact that I mix speeds, should I buy another PC-4200 (which was originally installed) or another PC-5300 (I'm leaning toward the 5300, since that would mean only two brand new sticks as opposed to one that is 4 years old and a brand new).

Thanks, and have a great day :)
    Patrick.

In your case the problem is compatibility.

Please visit THIS page and clck on detailed specifications. You will find all necessary information on your laptop and also part of the compatible memory modules number al.

    My answers to your questions:
    # Yes.
    # Probably
    # Use two modules with the same specifications. (PC-4200)

  • Satellite A105-S2141 - software compatibility problem Modem region

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2141 computer laptop bought in the United States. I am currently in a small country knowm as "Maldives" and unable to successfully connect and use the modem connection.

The selection of region internal modem utility does not include the Maldives in the list and if I select a random country as "current location" I can connect only if I keep the speed of the modem at 2400. What should do? I tried the upgrade, but no uogrades are available. Other computers can connect normally on the same telephone line.

Kindly advice. Is there another available modem which can be downloaded? Any other loophole?

    Hello

You don't need to use this utility select region of preinstalled modem.
You can choose the Maldives using own settings of Windows.

Choose Control Panel-> Phone & Modem Options->-> my position (Edit button)-> country (Maldives) dialing rules

On the Modem tab, you can choose the modem you are using and can check the properties. Here, you can set the maximum port to a higher speed.

Cheers and enjoy yourself on Maldives... big Islands... I wish that I would have enough time and money for the holiday he...

  • Impossible to reinstall Windows on Satellite A105-S2141

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2141 I'm trying to reinstall Windows on after a bad virus infection. When I entered the Windows CD (OEM cd, not original) and it loads all the drivers it BSOD PAge_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area with 0 x 50.
I ran several diagnostics hardware on the machine (memtest, hard drive tests, winstress) and nothing comes back bad. I put in a disk of Vista for sh * s and giggles and it loads fine.

At this point, I think that it is a SATA driver that must be loaded with Windows. I can't find this driver anywhere
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/modelContent.jsp?CT=DL&OS=&category=&MOID=1373531& rpn = PSAA5U & modelFilter = A105-S2141 & SelCategorie = 3 & selFamily = 1073768663

There is the link to the support page for this model of laptop. I've also updated BIOS firmware to the latest version, I tried the BIOS driver loaded on a disk without result.
I am really confused and this laptop is no good for me at the moment.

And what version of Windows you want to install?
