Satellite A110-228 - type CMOS battery?

Hello!

I would change the battery CMOS of my Satellite A110-228 (part number: PSAB0E-00J007GR).
(see: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=EU&userAction=SMP_RESU LTS_PAGE & partNumber = PSAB0E-00J007GR & serialNumber = K 66138472 & USER_ACTION = 20number % Serial)

What is the exact battery type should I buy?

And maybe you also know where to find the CMOS battery in the laptop, so I did not need to look.
Please don't tell me that speak to the authorised dealer... I won't do that! :-)

Hello

I guess that the CMOS battery is not replaceable because it s often welded/fixed on the motherboard.
What you can do is to charge this battery.
In order to load the CMOS battery, adapter and the main battery must be connected to the laptop. Most laptop computer should be ONE for all 18hours.
Then the CMOS battery needs to be recharged.

  • Help for Satellite Pro M10 RTC CMOS battery replacement

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 PS630E-G206C-FR
Removing the main battery causes a failure message from RTC battery from the beginning to the top and loss of CMOS date/time.
I tried to charge my main battery in full and then leave the machine in charge while it is turned on (I said it is a method for the CMOS battery)-without any result.
    .
My questions: do I have to replace the RTC battery (ie: is it refillable welded or a CR2032 battery shows or similar).
If a specific type, the best source?
And also, where it is (I'm comfortable with disassemble my laptop having replaced the LCD cable already)
    Thank you

    Hi David

Do you need help? What you mean exactly, step by step disassembly procedure? Maintenance manuals are not public documents and I'm really interested if anyone can offer assistance to you.

When you want to swap the portable RTC battery almost entire must be dismantled. Believe me that is not the procedure of 10 steps and to do something like this, you need the disassembly instructions. I recommend you to check how it will be service charges because that when they disassemble the laptop they can clean at the same time and the laptop will be as good as new.

If you want to do it yourself, it is very important to use authorized by Toshiba replacement batteries or real. Battery wrong installation may cause a battery explosion, or other damage.

    Please be careful about this.

  • Satellite A110 - 228 LAN not working after hibernation

Well, subject says it all, really. Network (wired) LAN does not work after hibernate.

It seems that it cannot find the DHCP server, so after a while, he gets a 169.* address.

After a reboot, the network works as usual (Gets an IP address from the DHCP server)

Tried the usual things, disconnect the cable, disabling the device LAN, the battery or the AC adapter, the behavior is reproducible.

The wireless network will be restored after a hibernation.
He needs a little help (right-click on the icon and 'recover' or whatever it is called in English)

    Any suggestions?

    Wilm Boerhout

In Device Manager, you will find the Lan card. Then, you can select the properties of LAN card. In the local network, properties of the map please select the Advanced tab
Here you can activate some interesting functions and change for optimal performance.
You can try to change some changes. Maybe it will work

  • Need of recovery of the Satellite A110-228 DVDs

I need a recovery dvd for this laptop because he won 't longer boot.
    Can I order or download?
    Thank you

Your Satellite is quite old and I think that you can not order more. Recovery image is not downloadable, so this option is also not a solution for you.

You can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask them if they have this disc.
What you can do is to install a clean operating system. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Graphics problem on Satellite A110-228

When you try to solve a problem (it was blue screen desk in front of my desktop wallpaper, which is a jpeg image and I could not change my wallpaper.)

Although I can change the black background color, in front windows, the screen goes black and when I move the menu from top to bottom, left to right, I see the image behind it. I accidentally disabled the video card from toshiba.
The result is that my screen does not work. The laptop works but no screen. How can I solve this?

A VGA monitor in the external port no longer works. I have no cd of restoration (Restore on the C: drive stuff are) why not toshiba put this with the laptop? Where can I get it and will it resolve? Can someone help me?

    Hello

    > restore stuff is on drive C :) Why Toshiba didn't he deliver with Notepad
Perhaps because each user can create this disk itself?

But wait boyfriend not so fast!
AFAIK all Toshiba laptops are delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD!

In the assistance of Toshiba, you will only find an option called Create drivers & Tools CD. This option can be used to create a driver CD, but not a whole recovery CD!
So, in my opinion, you should receive a CD of restoration of Toshiba with Notepad.

In any case all drivers and downloadable tools also from the Toshiba page. So if you want you can install XP from the original CD of Microsoft operating system and then could download and install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities Toshiba from the page!

But I really don't understand why you have disabled the internal laptop display? and how? ?:| truly amazing

  • Satellite A110 restarts automatically after each stop

    Hello!

    I have the following problem:
When to stop the system, my laptop while first goes off completely, as you wish, but 2 seconds later, he again. His behavior differs from a usual restart - then will not turn off, it restarts directly. In addition I can rule out software problems, since I've tested with different operating systems and the behavior is the same everywhere. This problem did not exist before, but suddenly occurred and now is it each time.
Ah, it is also important if the power adapter is NOT connected (i.e. portable runs only on battery), the problem does not occur. If the laptop works on current alternative, the problem occurs, regardless of whether or not the battery is in Notepad.

Can anyone help? Each index is very appreciated!

    My laptop is a
    Satellite A110-228

    Thank you very much!

    Hi zaez,

I doubt that the problem is caused by the OS because it doesn t affect the system when it turn off so there must be another reason of this problem...

    Have you attached external devices?
They could cause such an automatic start

I also is advised to disable Wake up on LAN functionality in the BIOS and load the default settings.

    Hello

First of all the people here in the forum can try to post some suggestions that may help you to solve different problems of portable but you shouldn't t wait you will get a good solution to 100%. I think you can understand that without putting hands on the laptop, we can offer only on the reasons why something happens

To return to your question; in my view, you must first check if the battery is defective and if new battery might help.

    I checked the Toshiba page Options & accessories on the European site of Toshiba and found the batteries compatible with the Satellite A110-195;
    The batteries are;

    Battery (Li-ion, 4000mAh, 6 cells) PA3465U-1BRS
    Battery (Li-ion, 4300mAh, 8 cells) PA3457U-1BRS

    Good day

  • Satellite A110-178 - battery very fast discharge

    Hello

I have a satellite a110-178 (psab0). The machine works fine, only the work of the battery for only 5 minutes and it is will beep and it closes down.

Is it possible to get this battery works well again?

    Hi Maurice

For me, it seems that your battery is dead.
May I ask how old he was?

The fact is that, after a long period of use at each battery starting to lose own performance and one day he will die.
    This is nothing unusual.

My battery is about 6 years old and 3 years I can use it only for about 2 min :D
I know, I would like to replace it but my laptop is still connected to AC, so I need a new battery.

Anyway, you battery need to be replaced if you want to run Notepad is more using the battery.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A110 battery does not & will not work if the battery is connected

    Hello

I will try to regain control of the situation quite clearly.

    Product: Toshiba Satellite A110-149

Works fine on AC adapter / CC (Eve just a summary of the problem but because of Gentoo Linux, this used to work under Windows XP)

Original battery was dead. Not only there is no charge, but with this battery and the AC adapter absolutely nothing, not a single LED. No need to mention that I couldn't turn on the computer.

Bought a new battery at Eforcity.com
    -Replace: PA3465U-1BRS | 10.8V | 6600mAh (71Wh)

With this new battery and the AC adapter plugged in, I have the green power led and lighted orange recharge. But even after 8 hours and the computer off of the battery did not charge.
If I try to turn on the computer with this new battery in and the AC adapter is plugged in it starts to run, but after awhile it stops automatically, no question weather I start or enter the BIOS.

BIOS is Phoenix v1.50 and reset the default settings.
Also, downloaded the last OS independent 1.70 - WIN (bios - 20090121162419.zip), but is there a way to update without Windows?

I tried to just unplugged and press the power button several times (last test, I continued pressing more than 2 minutes for what counts)

I have clean the contacts with alcohol.

Would it be because of a fuse or capacitor I could replace myself or something?

    Any help would be grateful.

    Kind regards
    Charly

    Hello

I'm not quite sure what happened to the laptop, but first of all you need to know that laptop m should feed and must run properly if the AC adapter is plugged.
The isn t battery required to power the unit if the power adapter provides power for the laptop.

So if ONLY the battery would be affected, the unit must always turn sector.

This is why I think that its a serious hardware issue for example motherboard problem.

  • How to replace the RTC (CMOS) battery in the Satellite A50-452 (PSA50E-01700WGR)?

I need to replace the Satellite A50-452 CMOS battery, but can't find any instructions online on how I would go about this procedure. Does anyone know how or where I could find instructions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Manual maintenance is not public record, so you can not find it for download.
Here in the forum isn't easy to post description step by step how you can disassemble your laptop and there are always risks that can damage some small piece of plastic or plastic media.

I put t really know what to say. Try to use google and find a page where you can find a description how to do this.

  • Satellite A50 cmos battery replacement

Hi, does anyone know the bios battery where satellite A50 series? mine need to replace soon.

    Hi Chang

Replacing the CMOS battery on laptops is not as easy as on the desktop. If you want to do it alone you have to disassemble the laptop and you should not do if you have no experience with it. Before do you it alone, please contact your local dealer or service and ask how much the replacement costs.

Believe me, that a small mistake may be responsible that unity don t start anymore, and then you can have a real problem. If you want to do it alone and at your own risk poster again.

  • Battery won't charge on my Satellite A110

6 months ago my adapter stopped working. I replaced it with a universal which works well for some time. Then I had a problem.
When I connect the adapter to the laptop the blue light indicating the power supply Burns ok. The battery light turns orange for 10 seconds, then it turns off, then 10 sec on. Once these last 10 seconds turns off and stays off.

It does when the computer is turned on and when it is off. In the windows taskbar is said "" battery not charging "". "" I bought a new battery. I could charge the battery new and after some time the problem occurs again. The laptop worked fine for two weeks then didn't it gives the same problem again.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be? Adapter? (I tried several of them with the supply voltage and amperage, battery (both give original and new battery same problem) or the motherboard?)

    Hi mate

BIOS update may help. Don't know if this solution applies to your Satellite A110 but it worth the try
However, it is also important that you use a power adapter compatible and original. The use of the wrong adapter could affect recharge the battery and it could be possible only after some time of use, the battery could damage

I think that the question of the motherboard would be possible also, but in my opinion, the use of original and compatible parts is essential.

  • How to replace the RTC (CMOS) battery satellite A50 432

    Hi all!

I have a SA50-432: what model of Satellite's my cell phone?

I need to replace the RTC battery (cmos).
Should I open my laptop? Or what parts?

    Thank you!
    ALE.

    Hey Buddy

To replace the CMOS battery, you will need to disassemble the whole laptop.
    You want to risk that?

I mean the whole notebook must be dismantled in the right direction and you use the right tools and the right order
It's not easy and I would say that that's impossible without additional manuals and hardware experience

I recommend contacting a mobile technician, that it would be the best way because this disassembly is really complicated and there is a high risk that damage you other expensive parts like motherboard or display

PS; Why do you want to repalce the CMOS battery? Have you tried to recharge it again?

  • Satellite A110 keyboard and battery - if it was in / work with A100?

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my post. I have a toshiba satellite a100 laptop, the keyboard is damaged and the battery no longer works. I just found access to a toshiba satellite a110, which is not as high in the specs, so I wonder...

-Keyboard toshiba satellite a110 works and adapt if it is placed in the a100?

-Toshiba satellite a110 battery works and adapt if it is placed in the a100?

If someone could tell me that I would be very happy.

    Thanks again for your time

    Hello

I think the keyboard could be compatible, but I doubt the battery designed for Sat A110 would be compatible with the model A100.

As far as I know the Satellite A100 supports the 9 cell, 6000mAh
    PA3478U-1BRS or 12 PA3400U-1BRS battery and the A110 supports PA3457U-1BRS Battery Pack Li-ion (4300mAh, 8 cells)
