Satellite A200 - 1 GB Vista - SVHS output photo Yes - sound not

I have connected my TV out SVHS following the instructions in the manual A200. I get a picture but no sound.
When connected I can't find the sound SVHS design in the sound Applet in Control Panel, I see that the speakers of the system. Please can someone advise what I should try next?

Hmmm you have connected the TV to the computer via an s-video cable?
As far as I know the s-video output port only provides the video signal and no audio.
If you want her too, you must connect the RCA (red and white) audio cables.

  • Satellite A200-1vp with Vista - code 39 of the CD/DVD drive failure

    Hello

I was burning and watch DVDs on my Satellite A200 - 1 VP, with vista, since February, the last time I burned anything was a couple of weeks.

Suddenly, there is a problem, no response when I insert a disc and my divx player says me no recorder found.

When I am looking in the Device Manager I get the message 'windows cannot load the driver for this hardware' (code 39) "driver is damaged or missing.

I tried to uninstall it and using the limit filter upper/lower of Toshiba, repair tool but on restart it still cannot install.

Should I try the Toshiba Recovery Disc and lose a lot of that programs/files, as a last resort?
    Would this work?
    Anyone have any ideas?

Here's an interesting article from Microsoft Knowledge:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

You must first access the Device Manager and should remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices.
Then should access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Reboot the laptop and check if the CD/DVD drive would work again!

  • Re: Satellite A200-175: driver Vista need Wireless HotKey Utility FN + F8

Please need drivers Wireless HotKey Utility for Vista (FN + F8).

    TNX.

    Hey Buddy

Utilities for Vista Toshiba are a little different and not the same thing as XP Toshiba Utilities
The only Wireless HotKey Utility that controls the FN + F8 key combination does not exist.
You need to download the Package of added value that controls the different utilities.
The common driver of TOSHIBA, TOSHIBA Flash Cards components are necessary and important if you want to use the key features of the FN.

Notes; the TOSHIBA components common driver must be installed as the first because it is an essential component of Windows Vista. He will have to make the other original programming TOSHIBA works correctly.

Satellite A200-175 belongs to the PSAE6 series. Then choose the right one and install it!

  • Satellite A200 - cannot use Vista after the recovery of the product

Hello. I hope someone can help me with the following... This week I had various issues with which follows my laptop a Vista update that system restore did not fix, so I decided to go for a full recovery of product (which I have a complete backup of all my files).

So far I have used the product recovery on my laptop in the 3 ways I can see (and more than once): without changing the settings, change the settings and maximize the partition, change settings and select advance / expertise.

Whenever I was able to complete the initialization of windows, create a new user account, etc. Once the Office has been set up, I get a small window with a progress bar and when it's over, I click on the button 'restart '...

After the reboot, I get the black screen that says Microsoft Corporation with the green progress bar, but he's there for what feels like 'too long '. After a while, I get a black screen with a cursor, then a blue screen for a crash dump.

If I use F8 and boot mode safe, the system stops the CplIR.sys file, although the hard disk activity seems to be continuing. I turn off after 10 minutes.

If I use F8 and then select Repair computer... This is what is happening with each option
-Restore the full windows operating system: after clicking on OK nothing happens.
-Diagnostics of memory: there is no problem with memory
-DOS prompt: I run CHKDSK and there is no problem with the hard drive
-Restart: there is no errors, even if the word diagnosis 'impossible' when he sees, there is no system restore points

Then on reboot I get the black screen with cursor followed by the crashdump OR if I managed to log in and access my desktop, I get the crash dump, as soon as I try to do something (like open Control Panel).

Following the instructions found elsewhere, I have tried this after removing the battery, then changing power management options immediately after the initialization of windows (ie. before clicking on the restart button). No change.

I even ignored the button restart! But still get a crash dump, when I try to do something.

Any ideas? I've got past (ie. wasted) so a lot of time on this and don't understand what may be wrong after formatting the windows drive image and reloading...

    Hello

It's very interesting story. I got several notebooks several times but I never noticed anything like that.
I must say that what you did right and you think appropriately. If I were you I would try exactly the same steps to make it work somehow.
I do not know which issues you had before, but I imagine that here it's just the problems of software and not important for the operation of the equipment.

It's really hard to say what can be the problem. What you can try, is somewhere to get facilities Microsoft Vista disk and install naked Vista to see if the same thing will happen again.
Anyway, the fact is that images of recovery are tested and adapted for each laptop model and if the material is OK there no reason for this kind of behavior.

Try again with the new installation using Microsoft facilities drive and let us know exactly what is happening.

On the second picture, I see that your Intel Matrix Storage Manager has not been installed on your Vista 64 bit OS.

On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find the 64 bit Vista drivers. Please download the Intel Robson Package from this site and install it. Robson package includes Intel Matrix Storage Management Utility for the management of your local storage space.

  • Satellite A200 starts more (Vista preinstalled)

    Hello

Turned on my laptop today. Has passed the screen toshiba but then nothing. Did the following:

1 switched OFF and hit the function (2) button on the screen Tosihiba.
    2. restore default - Save and Exit values.

Then switched on again and now I get a double beep and a cautionary: 0251 checksum of CMOS bad - default configuration system used.

Is there anyway that I can get the thing to boot. I saved most of my data and I did the recovery disks, but there are a couple of files stiil there that I would have.

The laptop came with Vista pre-installed. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

This problem can be the cause of various reasons. Maybe is CMOS battery fault or weak.
What you can try is to connect your laptop to the power supply and leave at least 24 hours. Now battery CMOS will be loaded and then try to check if the laptop starts properly.

If this message will be shown again and again I fear, you need professional help of Mr. contact Toshiba service and ask for help. I imagine that they will replace the CMOS battery.

  • Crashing - Satellite A200-171 with Vista Home

I recently moved to the UK Turkey and brought a satellite 210-171 with me (need an English keyboard as Turkish alphabet is different).

The machine is only 7 weeks and started to plant almost daily. Simply, the screen becomes black and must be restarted to bring back to life. To do this, this race of battery and network.

I hope that it's wrong to finger. I dread the idea of trying to get it fixed here I believe that the only authorized service center is based in Istanbul, some 14 hour drive from here where I live.

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Hello

something like your problem must first be troubleshooted on a software level. Yes, thinkabout software you´ve installed recently... remove it. Then, if the system fails again, perform a recovery on your computer and update then all your drivers/bios/tools.

If it fails again, check your memory, if they are defective. This could be done by downloading * prime95 *, which is a very good program for stress testing your CPU/RAM.

And if you're still out of luck then contact ASP in Turkey and send the machine for them. I think they should manage the repair very quickly since your machine is still under warranty.

    Welcome them

  • Problem with the Satellite A200 and Windows Vista startup

Yesterday, my laptop had some mistakes and tried to stop.
He remained on the screen closed for quite a long time, so I decided to push the power button until it turns off.

When I went to turn it back to the a started going through the normal screens, the Toshiba screen and then the white screen with the Microsoft flag down. At this point, the screen goes completely black and rest that way.

Through starting initial power cord, light is turned on, the power supply is on the HARD drive light and then when the screen turns white HARD drive light turns off and stays off.

I tried to do a system repair using the F8 key at startup and it goes into the Advanced Boot Options menu when I select 'Repair your computer', the light of the HARD drive temporarily, I go through the screens and select System Restore, I selected a date a few weeks and then click Next on the screen indicating the (c :)) system disk is ready to be restored then it returns an error -" (c) drive has errors. Windows has detected corruption in the file (c) system.

You should check the drive for errors before you can restore it "- and at this point, I can only click on the 'check' the drive to find errors, and then click Start, as he chose the option 'Automatically fix file system errors'."

When I click Start nothing seems to happen just on the same screen, the HARD drive light does not come on at all and there is no internal HARD drive noise. The only way I can get out of this screen is to turn the computer off again.

If someone is able to help I would really appreciate it!

    Hello

You know Flash Cards is transparent and moving flashy when pressing the FN key.
After that I downloaded & installed PVAT 1.1.7.see card Flash became a dark, not transparent and does not move when you press FN plus (watch suddenly when pressing FN).

    What's wrong?

    PS. I have A200 - 1 M 4

    Thank you

Nothing is fake. It is simply a new version. Toshiba has offered this setting day and fixed a big problem. Using the latest version of Flash cards were very slow and it was very awkward. Toshiba has designed the new tool and transparency is no longer available.

I hope that you know very well that these settings are in need of more resources and laptop runs slower. But in the end I wonder: is it so important to you?

    Josefa Hello,

It sounds as if you of the BIOS chip was damaged during the attempt to update failed, and unfortunately this will prevent you from starting your laptop so that you can tyr to redo the update.

In my view, that it will be necessary to bring or send the laptop to a Toshiba authorized service agent who has the equipment necssary to re flash your BIOS chip.

    Kind regards
