Satellite A200 - 1 M 4: can I get Windows Vista separately?

Hello

When I install the product recovery CD, it installs Windows Vista and many programs that I don't need.
I just want to install Windows Vista (even excluding pilots).
So, can I get the installer of Windows Vista (Home Premium) separately?

Thank you

Hello

There are no separately installation program. You are not alone with this opinion and no you don't have to use any installed stuff. I remove also all the stuff, I didn't need.

Install the OS by using the recovery CD and then download all the updates from Microsoft to ensure that everything is up to date and remove all the stuff that you don't need. Believe me I do the same.

Just for example - I have a satellite that comes with Windows XP Home edition and I did follow:
1. installed OS using supplied recovery DVDs
2 installed all updates from Microsoft
3 deleted applications, I didn't need
4. install all the applications I need for work (office, Nero and so on)
5 installed Norton Ghost
6 created my own recovery image

Now I can reinstall my OS and after 30 minutes, everything is there. In the case of some virus or any other strange question, I install new OS (on the C partition). All the data saved on the D partition are still there and can be used after installation of the image.

  • Re: Satellite L300 - 18 d - how can I get a Vista restore disk?

    Hello world

My laptop (Satellite L300 - 18 d) has been seriously infected by viruses, all corrupt. I need to resinstall Vista but do not have the restore disc. After searching around, I managd to download a restore disk of some sites, but when I used this disc, it gave me an error code which meant the product key was wrong. I used the product key from the bottom of the laptop (I trust this is an OEM). So I guess I need a restore disk that works with my OEM product key.

How can I get the restore disc that will work with my OEM license?

Also, I tried to install XP on my laptop, but it kept giving me a message saying that it could not detect the hard drive, there is nothing wrong with the hard drive, I tested it on another laptop. Is there an any obstacle o install XP on this laptop that came with Vista of origin. Is there a security Messure somewhere that I collapsed to install XP?

    Thanks in advance

  • Satellite A200 27Z - how to unlock KeNotify on Windows Vista?

    Hello world

Well, this subject pretty much says it all. I do a cleaning - on my Satellite A200 27Z - and I have my Windows Vista continues of blocking KeNotify.exe at startup.

Answers on Google etc are contradictory - "definitely!" - "no, don't touch it!" - so what's the answer with this one? Continue to block it? I think so; as she as reads keystrokes; that seems a little unfair, because he never told me he was doing it)

    What think you of all?

    Thank you

    Hello

The KeNotify should t be blocked because it belongs to Toshiba Flash Cards you need for the FN keys so please unlock this application.

If the Windows Firewall blocks, you can unlock it in the settings:
Control Panel > Windows Firewall > settings >

    I hope I could help a bit.

  • How can I get Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bit?

I decided to install Windows 7 on my computer for the 30 day free trial, but am now regretting it. I don't have the money to buy the product officially, so I want to reinstall my windows vista. I have the drive, but when I try to install the computer says that this version of windows is not compatible with it. How can I get my Windows Vista to install?

Also, I currently have windows 7 Home premium. It is a 32-bit operating system and is running on Service Pack 1. The version of windows that I am wanting to return is Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I can't make the method for using the windows.old as my uncle decided to remove after installation of windows. I have 13, but even, I knew it was a bad idea. In any case, I would really help with this question.

Ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit is a single proposal for a NEW facility.

You can boot from the DVD and erase your old installation (wipe, from scratch, all not saved disappeared and everything must be installed manually - including drivers for hardware devices and software you have installed now) and install Windows Vista x 64.

  • How can I get Windows Vista to stop the shortening of long file names?

I copy the files with long names in .zip files. Whenever I drag a drag the file to .zip (also with a long name) file, it renames the .zip file in a much shorter name. This only happens on my computer, my wife can perform the same task that I'm with her computer, and it won't rename the file name. We're both under Windows Vista. Is there a way I can get to rename the files? Thank you!

  • Where can I get Windows Vista

Someone at - it sources where I can buy a copy of Windows Vista or Windows XP?

It can be obtained from Microsoft.  I suggest you do a search for 'Purchase Vista or XP' on Bing or Google and see if they come up with something useful.  I don't know of places to get more, but I've not really looked at.

If so, you should br able to find sources on search engines.  If this one does not provide any options to refine the search term.  Don't buy OEM software, because the license allows it to be installed only on the original computer that it came installed on - you cannot legally install it on your machine (and you will not be able to activate when the time comes, and then you'll be stuck).

    I hope this helps.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Try this:

    Toshiba Recovery:

To access the recovery partition Toshiba, powering the laptop. Press 0 (zero) key and turn on the laptop. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo, which is where you should start to type the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the device emits a sound signal or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should light up * MODE of RECOVERY of HARD drive * for a fraction of a second, and then load the Toshiba Recovery program directly from the hard drive.

Note that this clears all data and reload all the software factory default. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand!

You can also make recovery disk/s since the Partition of recovery in case of hard drive failure or System Crash, when you are in service again.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • How can I get windows vista to lock mode?

I am using windows vista ultimate and for some reason, it keeps happening in blocking mode and displaying the login screen after about 1 minute of inactivity. Please read the following and do not waste my time with useless answers, I've seen tons of those on the Microsoft support site. I have all my power options set to 'never '. I don't have a selected screen saver. To clarify what I put in power options, display is set to never turn off. Cover, button / stop and sleep options are set to 'status quo '. Turn off the HDD is set to never. In power, the options are set "never" or "status quo". If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. And once again, if you do not have a solution, please do not respond.

    Hello

Control Panel - power - on the top left Options - require a password on Wakeup - check do not require a password

Also right click Desktop - Customize - screensaver - disable the log on the summary screen - apply / OK.
Do this even if you do not have a screen saver. If it is unchecked then check and then go back and
    Uncheck the box.

You might also have something in the Advanced Options on your power Plans.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite L300-13 s - how can I get Windows drives?

My daughter portable computer does not start and I need to buy windows discs (have not provided by Toshiba). The serial number on the back is unfortunately more readable. Without entering the serial number I can't seem to be able to order these from Toshiba.

Any suggestions or alternatives to solve my problem?

    Hey Buddy,

First of all, I must say that the product key on the underside of the laptop has nothing to do with the Microsoft Windows disk you bought. The key on the lower side belongs to the preinstalled OEM version and t can be used with a disk of Microsoft.

If you want an original Toshiba recovery disc, take a look on this page where you can order one:

  • Satellite L500 - 12 p - where can I get Windows XP drivers?

    Hello

I just bought this laptop, and if I knew that it does not support XP, she doesn't have the drivers for Vista I doubt, better yet, I know that I wouldn't take a Toshiba.

There is no WARNING Kael'thas doesn't say "Vista only" or something similar, at least in my country, and it was unzipped.

The problem is that I have only XP and I don't like VIsta, so is there any drivers for XP?

I could not find drivers for XP, there is no drivers for Win7, only for Vista.

    Thank you

    Hello!

In my opinion Windows XP is pretty old OS and the past. Vista is the future, and in a few days it will be Windows 7.

So you should be happy if your laptop runs correctly with Vista preinstalled. The laptop is fast enough for this OS and with new SP2 turns faster than without MS. In addition, you can switch to Classic view, and then it looks like XP.
    Did you check this?

If you really want XP you will need to collect the drivers yourself on external sites, such as Intel, Realtek, and far.

    Good bye
