  My of my Satellite A200-1js dvd rom is not working very well. When I try to burn, a dvd is only recording at 4 x.
  But I want more speed because the original dvd are 16 x and it can operate at this speed.

  As far as I know burning and playback speed depends on the material (CD/DVD drive). Looks like your CD/DVD drive can burn to DVD at 4 X max.

  Don t think so; first an update is not available, and second, the material is not able to burn faster.

  By the way; I burn my DVD still at 1 x because the quality is much better and more DVD players can read burned environment!

  I bought a Toshiba Satallite A200-244 a few months back. It worked falwlessly with my Virgin internet router from the beginning, but suddenly I am disconnected during navigation. I was not able to connect to the network since. It shows the network when I try to connect it says * unable to connect * I diagnose the problem, but still does not work. I know somethings wrong with the laptop, because the other companions of House have no problem connecting to the network.

  I tried the things:

  -Put the router for 30 seconds and then turn it back on.
  -Updated network adapter drivers. (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG)
  Search - forums but they all say of the complicated stuff related to the register and all, tried what ever I could catch.

  Tech gurus out there, please help me!

  Checked settings in Windows? Maybe there's something wrong in the configuration DHCP network or something.

  Turn off the router, unplug it from the power source, wait about 10 minutes, plug in the power supply and turn it on.

  If the problem persists, you should load the router factory settings. Then after you should check, if the router and the wireless network adapter using the same standards.

  PS don't know anything about wifi.

  I put t see serious reasons why wifi shouldn't t work in Australia.
  But before you will contact the laptop to the router WLan wireless you should check if the wireless network adapter using the same channel, WLan, the same standard WLan 802.11 (A, B or G) and the same encryption WLan!

  I'm after a replacement of the RTC battery for my A200-244

  I had my machine open and find the battery, but there is no model number on it.

  I read the post by saying that the battery is part of the Commission and the Council must replace, but if I had a model number for the battery I could very easily unsolder old and replace with new

  The RTC battery can be charged by the adapter or the main battery while the computer is on. You must charge the battery 24 hours long.

  In addition, it seems that the A200 series uses the 3.0V (14mAH 17maH) RTC battery
  I found some that support these values.

• Problem with SD for Satellite A200 - 244 (PSAE6E) card reader

  Dear all,

  I recently bought a * _Satellite A200-244 (PSAE6E_ *) laptop to the United Kingdom and who is currently working in Oman. Problem is I won't be visiting UK for awhile so not able to take the laptop

  After taking a few photos, I decided to use my "Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo" in my card reader integrated.

  _ * I get the following errors: * _

  (1) the clear blue screen for the map turns on and then turns off right away.
  (2) my laptop does not say this new card or device found.
  "(3) in my computer," (g) removable disk appears, but when I double click on it an error message appears stating "Please insert a disk into removable disk".

  _ * Things I tried: * _
  (1) used the card memory on other laptops (vista and xp) and it is reading the device immediately and I can see my photos.
  (2) I re-installed ' T1 multiple Digital Media Card Reader "but no progress.
  (3) given that I don't have the Vista recovery disc, I have re install Vista but still the same problem.

  I'm really angry at all this and it bothered me a lot. I hope that someone who had the problem or similar experience and has managed to solve this problem.
  Or someone who has encountered this problem and know a solution, then I'll be very grateful if you can help.

  I use card Memory Stick Pro Duo high speed with my cam, but, as far as I know, it cannot be used with multicard reader directly, but perhaps with Memory Stick adapter. Please consult the manuals s document and you will find the list of all supported cards.

  To be honest I have Memory stick adapter but A200/P200 still doesn't properly recognize the card.

  So the question is: do you also use the adapter or not?

  My husband has a new A200-244, and we have a number of alerts of Tempo. We have downloaded them but now realize to download WinZip as well. We are beginners in regards to this kind of thing and you're not sure quite how to do it and also when it gives the choice of what to download.

  We do not know who are the good guys (i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit / a key version or two keys etc.)
  We have assumed that you put in your model of Toshiba in Tempo only updates for this model (and the serial number) were relevant or that is the case and we have to download them all?

  Preinstalled operating system is 32-bit system and all the stuff to install must be 32-bit. To be honest you should not install this immediately. You need to update is the added value package (VAP) and driver wireless LAN.

  And understanding the functioning of the laptop. If you notice some problems or any unusual question please post again.

  I recommend to install WinRAR and with this application, you can open all files zip successfully.
  At a first remove preinstalled VAP, download and install the latest version. In Control Panel, you will find the programs and features. Open and remove the VAP from there.

  I bought a Toshiba A200 (model PSAF6A) of back in January, and it is riddled with problems since then:
  -Can't burn DVD (not @ around 50%, any software is used)
  -Several dead on the screen pixels
  -Overheating when playing games (I bought an external cooling block)
  -Now, all fans are dead inside the laptop! Overheating in the first 10 minutes of starting the laptop computer!

  Now, for me, it seems that the motherboard may have started to die.

  What I'd like to know is if it will be replaced with so many problems if I take service? (I reserved a pick-up for today)
  Or they'll just to try to solve every problem?

  ... Too much dust in the heat sink, must be blown to the compressed air, or dismantled so its really clogged. Dust accumulation is common in carpeted rooms.

  ... If the fans don't turn up at all, there must be a lot of dust in there. The fans need to be replaced.

  I have the Satellite Pro A120 with a cd/dvd burner MAT * a uj-8415. It works very well with data Brüning, but...

  When you try to burn the MP3 files or video files on DVD or CD/r or any type of audio file, it suddenly gives me an error message telling me that the cd can no longer be used.

  Other reasons why you can't write these files to CD or DVD is simply a problem of compatibility between the STRANGE and the CD or DVD.
  According to my experience, not all CD or DVD is supported, and these compatibility issues are not really rare.

  I also have another idea.
  Have you heard of burning of problems caused by the bad registry entry? I mean the upper and lower filters...

  Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:

  I have a Toshiba A200 with the TS - L802A HD-DVD in it drive.
  Tried to burn a dvd, but would not recognize the media, so updated the firmware.

  Update successful, but now after restarting the player is not recognized, in bios it says no optical drive and no sign of him anywhere in VIsta

  Any ideas on how to recover from a bad update?

  Do you mean that the BIOS does not recognize the CD/DVD drive?
  Hmm, this means that the firmware changed the master/slave/c-salt settings and no BIOS can't recognize the ODD.
  Perhaps you have used a wrong firmware

  Unfortunately, you cannot set the STRANGE to the early firmware so you don t have this firmware.

  On the Toshiba European page driver I could find a firmware, but only for a TS-L632 and TS-L632P TS-L632H readers.

  Perhaps an ASP technician could help you... it's worth a try to get in contact with a technician of the ASP

  Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
  Then, restart the device and wait until Windows has recognized and reinstalled the CD/DVD drive.

  Can someone give me advice what to do with my HD DVD ROM It's playback discs after departure upward but then if I don't play anything for a while (30 minutes or 1 hour) and then try to play HD DVD ROM stopped reading anything and the laptop became frozen. Sometimes it even stops with the error message.

  If I restart my computer then HD DVD ROM still works but for a short time.

  You have cd/dvd utilities in the system tray? Maybe they are causing a problem.

  Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
  When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.

  (1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
  2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
  (3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
  (4) restart.

  If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

  What is the name for the reader of standard DVD-CD ROM attached to this one. Mine is not removable, but it has suddenly stopped working properly.

  I was thinking of buying one of the models, but the images of various sites allows to advertise varies on other sites, some of which have digital keypad money and other black keyboard, im awae the main diff is the gfx card, but which image is good.

  You cannot always rely on images on Web sites to dictate your shopping experience, that those sites may not have updated their pages in a while.

  My suggestion would be to visit a retail store selling the computer model you're after and show the computers it (after you note the model number of the computer you want to buy).

  However, for your application, A200 (last year's model) has a silvery keyboard and newer models (A300) have a glossy black keyboard.
