Satellite A200 boot disk recovery

I need to reinstall the laptop but whenever I boot from CD it will not.
I have tried every disk boot (xp pro, xp home, Toshiba Recovery disk) at home, but none of it works.

Boots from the recovery disk (windows loading), but after restarting my laptop from loading.

> Try running Recocery CD Windows and choose then reinstall the option in the menu cd
Something like that is not possible using the Toshiba Recovery disk

> tried every disk boot (xp pro, xp home, Toshiba Recovery disk) at home, but none of it works.
In my opinion your CD/DVD drive cannot read media inserted and, therefore, it of not possible to restore the operating system.

I think the CD/DVD drive should be checked by a technician of laptop and if necessary, it must be replaced.

  • Satellite A200 - BOOT didn't need original disk recovery

    Hello

I'm by no means techologically of mind, so please bear with me. Unable to start my computer and I got a message saying that it didn't boot.

When I took it to my technician in computer science at the University, he said that I need the original disc supplied with the computer as the hard drive is "sick" and will reinstall all software. I cannot locate this disk for the life of me and I was wondering if the media is downloadable or if toshiba can provide a replacement. I'm in the United Kingdom, but my laptop was purchased at the Canada nine in September 2007. It's a Satellite A200, 160 GB, 2gig ram.

If anyone can help, I would * really * appreciate it!

    Thank you

    Harlie

  • Satellite A200-1 TB - recovery breaks on 57%

    I have a Satellite A200-1To.

This morning my laptop kept shutting down.
I tried the usual methods of recovery, but could not get windows to load, not even in safe mode.

I jumped in the recovery disc to see if I could repair windows, after mucking around, I decided to make a full recovery.
Followed all the instructions, has chosen to format the entire disk, everything seemed to go well until I arrived at 57% and then install failed.

I went through this procedure 5 times, but windows still has not finished, still got 57 percent and then dropped.
The laptop is still under warranty, so will have to phone Tosh, I think it might be the HD/drive or the DVD drive.

    Any ideas.

    Brian

It really looks like a HARD drive failure.
You should definitely contact the ASP in your country for a control of the laptop.

If the recovery process fails and is not possible, then a hardware problem is possible

Request so the technician help. If the warranty is valid, then everything should be done for free!

    Bye and mate good luck

    Hello

Looks like a corrupted Bios and reflashed need. The problem is that you need bios under BACK and disk it reflash. On the page of the Toshiba driver, there is only victory - a basis.
Notice, I guess it's Bios troublemaker, but it may be associated with mobo issue itself.

In any case, you should contact the service center, it is not impossible to solve these issues in this virtual forum

  • Satellite A200 - password disk HARD 'frozen' in the BIOS

Satellite A200 computer laptop does not recognize the HARD drive.
Reconstruction of the disk with Vista or XP - Pro (on another machine) have proved to be unsuccessful.

Originally, continually blue machine armored and quicky restarted, Machine was infected by the virus and Trojans that I believe have damaged BIOS. The BIOS now appears to have 'frozen' a HARD drive password (unknown) which transfers any HARD drive new - perpetuating the problem.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, thanks.

    Hello

Usually, you should be able to remove the HARD drive password in the BIOS.
You have to put the old HARD drive password must use ENTER to put an empty string as a new HARD drive password and you will need to confirm this
Save the changes and restart again

If this procedure is not possible or does not work then there must be something wrong with the BIOS, module ROM BIOS or motherboard.
Maybe an update of BIOS/reflash could be useful, but generally all passwords must be removed before attempting a BIOS updates, which could be risky
I think you should get in touch with a local ASP and need to ask for help, maybe the technician will be able to reflash the BIOS

    Welcome & good luck
