Satellite A200 - boots motorcycle cycle Post - in touch with Toshiba tomorrow

Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 when start does not get past the message, get you the commercial display of system "In Touch with tomorrow Toshiba" press F2 or F12 for the boot of friends menu. The blue bar get about 3/4 of the way through, then it restarts. Even if you press F2 or F12, you get the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

Concerning
Brett

Hello

Looks like a corrupted Bios and reflashed need. The problem is that you need bios under BACK and disk it reflash. On the page of the Toshiba driver, there is only victory - a basis.
Notice, I guess it's Bios troublemaker, but it may be associated with mobo issue itself.

In any case, you should contact the service center, it is not impossible to solve these issues in this virtual forum

  • Satellite A200 - BOOT didn't need original disk recovery

    Hello

I'm by no means techologically of mind, so please bear with me. Unable to start my computer and I got a message saying that it didn't boot.

When I took it to my technician in computer science at the University, he said that I need the original disc supplied with the computer as the hard drive is "sick" and will reinstall all software. I cannot locate this disk for the life of me and I was wondering if the media is downloadable or if toshiba can provide a replacement. I'm in the United Kingdom, but my laptop was purchased at the Canada nine in September 2007. It's a Satellite A200, 160 GB, 2gig ram.

If anyone can help, I would * really * appreciate it!

    Thank you

  • Satellite A200 - 1 CG PSAE3E: BIOS corrupted - solved with the crisis recovery disk

    Hi all

I would like to report on the success of the recovery of corrupted bios on my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E).
Like many others I downloaded a latest bios update for my laptop and it started under Windows 7 64-bit.

In fact I only needs of some practical information from the bios update tool, but the update started automatically
without a question. :( After several blocks has been updated the progress bar stuck a heterocycle.
In 2 minutes, I got only the system completely frozen. I turned off the system manually, it works again, and...
my laptop was completely dead: screen etc black and of course, I wasn't able to boot in Windows 7.

So for those who only plans to update the bios: DO NOT update the BIOS ON the SATELLITE UNDER WINDOWS! THE UPDATE MAY BE STUCK!

I searched on the web has found a solution. With a specially created disk and external usb floppy drive, the problem can be solved then

I tried the recovery procedure described here, but it did not help. Earlier versions of tool phlash16.exe
where it is not able to restore the bios. I heard that the disk was read constantly for about 2 minutes. After the recommended 5 min break, I changed the power of and then turned back on it and... I had the same darkness of the screen as before :(

The strange thing is that the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe also did not work, but it was different from the earlier version. If I used the older version of the tool, the disk has been read for about 2 min, if used the latest version of the disk was read for about 10 seconds. It was for me, as the bios was not simply read by the tool.

So I searched and searched again. Then I found it: it takes phlash.ini to the phlash16.exe!
I downloaded an old bios (something from 2007) for an unknown Toshiba laptop to the Toshiba site. I renamed both the archive and found a phlash.ini inside. I changed only the second line in the ini file of... = 0 to... = 1 (I guess).

Then I formatted the diskette under dos, copied the minidos.sys he phlash16.exe (latest version), a new bios for my laptop in BIOS. WPH (I guess) and after a phlash.ini has been fixed. After that, I started the crisis recovery makeboot.exe utility (found on the site, which I mentioned earlier). After that, I have the phone in recovery mode (Fn + B) bootet and... It worked like a charm. So, the important thing was the phlash.ini!

So for those who has the same problem with corrupt bios, I've had: it's phlash.ini and the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe.
All other information can be retrieved on the web site, which I mentioned earlier. The described method works with the phoenix bios!

    So good Look

    Kind regards
    Igor

    Thanks for the friend information
But to be honest, the procedure of BIOS is always a sensitive issue and I would be always careful in using such things.

When even good to know that your device is running again!

  • Satellite A200-1 M 5 PSAE0 - looking for XP TOSHIBA common Modules

    Hi all

I'm looking for TOSHIBA common Modules for my laptop. I did not find them in the download drivers home page.
I have the Satellite A200 1 M 5 (PSAE0) and xp as an operating system. I will be more grateful if you guide me how to download them.
Yet one thing so I am trying to update my Bios under windows xp, I get this error message"

"The new Bios image is the same as the current system BIOS, if the Bios will not be changed" so what is the problem in this regard.

    Portable computer module
    Satellite A200-1 M 5 (PSAE0)
    Operating system
    XP pro

    Thanks in advance

    Concerning

    Hello

The common Modules are not available for Satellite A200 (PSAE0) series.
I put t know why you need this tool for the PSAE0 A200 but everything should work without the installation of common Modules

  • Re: Satellite A200 - 1 K 7 - does not start with 4 GB of RAM

    Hello

I'm moving to 4 GB of RAM. According to the manual of my Satellite A200 1 k 7 supports up to 4 GB of ram.

However, if I put two 2 GB modules the computer turns. Either one of the 2 GB on its own modules works fine, but both together won't work.

The power led lights up, the hard drive whirs and then shuts. Nothing happens, not even a BIOS screen.
My BIOS is updated. I'm using windows Vista 32-bit.
The memory modules I use are the two SO-DIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 667 Mhz.

    Help, please!

I don't know Mr. but as far as I know the Satellite A200 - 1 K 7 has an Intel 943GML chipset that supports 2 GB max.
So you should check which chipset you have. For this, you can use PC Wizard 2008 (http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php).

If you have a different chipset, I think that the modules are not compatible and if you need other modules.

  • Satellite A660 boots up to the black screen with blinking cursor not upper left

My new Satellite A660-10W sometimes (not always), when turned on, boots up to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left. If I stop by pressing the power button, it stops immediately. I then wait a few seconds and press the power button again and then it usually starts very well.

Could it be updated during this process and I'll be more patient (usually wait a few minutes) before shutting down when this happens?

Usually something like that shouldn't happen. Satellite A660 is no different from all the other models and OS must be loaded shortly after Toshiba welcome screen appears.
Do you use your laptop with factory settings or you have changed something?

  • Satellite A200 stops after the post

    Hello.

I replaced the motherboard that was dead with a used one on ebay, the user declares that it functioned very well.

Anyway after that I set up everything, it starts for a few seconds and then stops.
Then I tried connecting the Council, except in the case of the laptop and it's the shutsdown, after awhile, except in certain positions, or if I press somewhere, then he has not stopped.

I have reviewed everything carefully and I don't see any evidence of anything whatsoever that could short the motherboard...
I took a few pictures for you to see how I managed to do work for a long time:

    http://I54.Tinypic.com/ojnix5.jpg
    http://i51.Tinypic.com/2upekw8.jpg

He got up on the upper right. If I normally put it will not work.
The strangest thing is that if I go into the BIOS by pressing F2, he used stop! forever there remains, after the POST, that is the case...

But if meet the thing and tighten all bolts, even its worse, shutsdown in 1 or 2 seconds and doesn't show any video...

    What do you think is?

    Hello

I think that it of almost impossible to say what could be bad exactly.
If the MESSAGE cannot be passed correctly, it means that something is broken on the motherboard.
    Have you checked RAM?

Faulty or incompatible RAM can cause this problem but it s just a suggestion

PS: what about CPU? Is it compatible with the new card mother and chipset?

  • Satellite A200 boot disk recovery

I need to reinstall the laptop but whenever I boot from CD it will not.
I have tried every disk boot (xp pro, xp home, Toshiba Recovery disk) at home, but none of it works.

Boots from the recovery disk (windows loading), but after restarting my laptop from loading.

    > Try running Recocery CD Windows and choose then reinstall the option in the menu cd
Something like that is not possible using the Toshiba Recovery disk

    > tried every disk boot (xp pro, xp home, Toshiba Recovery disk) at home, but none of it works.
In my opinion your CD/DVD drive cannot read media inserted and, therefore, it of not possible to restore the operating system.

I think the CD/DVD drive should be checked by a technician of laptop and if necessary, it must be replaced.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 L 5 PSAE3E-02300JIT problem with audio and integrated webcam

    Hi all!

I recently changed from Windows Vista to Windows 7.

Everything is ok except for the webcam and audio. I can no longer access the webcam and the sound is really low, even if the volume is at its maximum. The caps do not work (no sounds out of their share). I searched drivers (also in the section archive) but I did find what I need.

    What should I do?

    Thank you for your attention.

First I would recommend you to install the two drivers; driver webcam and its pilot.
    Audio driver
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/sound-20091102142037.zip

    driver webcam chicony
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/webcam-20091102142410.zip

Of course, you must also install other drivers as a value-added package.

After installing Realtek sound driver, go to control panel and here, you should see the Realtek HD audio Manager.
In the Realtek HD audio Manager you can change settings to improve the sound performance. You should also find yellow folder icons. The yellow folder allows you to choose how to get sound - headset or speaker.

  • Satellite A200 - 13 M - XP x 64 - problems with the modem drivers and webcam

    Hello!
I recently installed Windows XP x 64 on my laptop.
I have two devices that do not work properly.

    (1) does anyone know how to get the driver for the built-in modem? There is no version the x 64 required for download.

    (2) the webcam does not work. I had a problem of 'Windows Image Acquisition': error telling me to put this service to activate the webcam. The problem is that this service is, by default, already activated.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

You are right. 64-bit drivers are not available. Unfortunately, 64-bit version is not supported. To be honest, I'm sure that the modem is not so important for you and you can turn off this feature.

I can't say much because I use the 32-bit operating system only on webcam.

It is driving me + MAD + please help :)

    Hey Buddy

This is a user to user forum not technicians, there is everything here, and you can always meet the same people like you and me
If don t be worried about some sarcasm here ;)

Back to your question, in fact, it looks like a malfunction of the accumulator and in my opinion, you should test another battery, but before you would get in touch with Toshiba ASP, you must check if your BIOS is updated the BIOS should be updated later say I don't very well if this will change anything but it s worth a try m

  • Satellite A200 - cannot downgrade the BIOS to v2.40

    Please help me.

I bought a brand new toshiba Satellite A200 series laptop with vista home premimum inside.

For some reason, I'm not a fan of big vista.
So I lowered my XP OS and as I was looking for pilots and all this for XP I saw an update of the Bios for my laptop it's 5.20 which was for XP. Although for Vista its 2.40 as per mentioned on the Web site.

    Now where my problems began.
I downloaded this v5.20 bios and updated.
Soon the problems began as laptop is overheated, it freezes and sometimes refuse to give performance.

As I was unable to find all my drivers for XP I switched to Vista using my recovery DVDs. But the problem remains the same with Vista too, so finally, I took my laptop to a Toshiba Service Center.

They have said that it is a motherboard problem so they fixed, but they have not set the Bios.
I still v5.20 on my machine.

I tried to go down to v2.40 but it always shows an error.

Can someone help me pls... I am able to boot with a USB but I don't have a version of DOS of Bios v2.40.

Please if anyone can provide me with my version of the bios.
I'll be grateful to her for ever.

    Here are my system specs.

    Date 2009-01-26 03:04:19

    [Information on PC]
    Model name Satellite A200
    Part number PSAFCL-01M00P

Not even this when I buyed the laptop he showed me 749 something like a shared graphics memory now it shows only about 399.

I know that it is simply because of this update of the Bios.
Now I am not yet able to play good games.
This machine is almost useless for me now.

No help from you people will get.

I put t know why you want to downgrade the BIOS.
Have you read the information on the site of Toshiba for BIOS version 5.20? I created this:
    > Support Windows XP and Vista OS

So I think that you should not downgrade the BIOS. The most recent BIOS 5.20 is for Windows XP and Vista.
You can find this information on Toshiba Asia because you have the model of Asia (not Europe):
    http://www.PC.Toshiba-Asia.com =>
Update BIOS version 5.20 Satellite A200 (for the PSAF0-* & PSAFC *-* ONLY)

The Toshiba Service Center did a good job with the latest BIOS.
