Satellite A200 - Format C drive and reinstall

Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 with a 32-bit, windows vista, who bought about 4 years ago. He became extremely slow and crashes on a regular basis. I want to format the C drive and reinstall windows vista. Afterwards, I'm going to re - install all drivers. I have questions about the process

1. I have the recovery disk provided by Toshiba. Is this enough to do what I need from higher up? Also she's windows, because I checked the drive and could not find the Windows Setup files

2. the recovery process reformatted all the partitions or only my windows drive (C :). I prefer if it puts only C: drive and not the other readers. However, I am still back up all just in case readers

Thanks for the help.

V

Hey,.

Yes, to format the C drive and reinstall Windows with the drivers and tools of Toshiba, the recovery disk is sufficient. Factory settings will be restored on your computer in order to have the same settings as you purchased the computer.

Recovery disk reformatted the whole HARD disk, so you must all on another drive to backup and a backup of all important files should always be made only before reinstalling Windows ;)

  • Can I format HARD drive and reinstall Windows 7 on the Qosmio F60 without CD

I think my hard drive is faulty on my F60 Quosmio so I want to reformat the hard drive to see if that will fix it. But I don't have the original packaging and the information with me at the moment so I don't know if it came with a windows 7 CD or not. Whatever it is, I don't have the CD.

I found on the net that most manufacturer who deliver without CD include a "recovery partition" or "factory image partition" which you can access during startup. Anyone know if the F60 Quosmio comes with a CD or if she has this recovery partition or partition image factory? Or do you know if there is a way I can check if my computer is it?

If you have more information about the formatting of the hard drive and reinstall windows 7 without the CD please let me know.

    Thank you.

The laptop came with a Windows disc, because there is a Toshiba recovery disc Creator called tool which create the recovery disk.

The recovery partition was available and it allows you to recover the laptop without the use of the recovery disk, but it does not work if the HARD drive has failed.

Check that your antivirus (all-in-one suite If you have one) is not turn off your network traffic.

Note the devices installed in the machine.  Use this information to download the latest version of the drivers and software for the manufacturer's Web site features (on another machine and store on an external support, I suppose, would be the only way for you to do.)

Uninstall the software/drivers for network devices.  Turn it back on.  Even if pilots are found/installed automatically, manually update the drivers & software using the files you downloaded earlier.

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

Open a command prompt and run the commands following one at a time (after each ENTRY) without leaving the part through if somehting started working...  Note all errors and post them here.

  • If I format my drive and install linux, how do I install and activate my windows?

    * Original title: reinstalling Windows 7

    Hello

I bought a laptop recently, with a pre installed, activated windows 7. I'll be using linux for some time and goes back to Windows. If I format my drive and install linux, how do I install and activate my windows? And where can I get the source? In my laptop there is no serial number sticker. Its a laptop Lenovo b50-80.

Please do not suggest dual os.

Here's what I suggest strongly that do you before installing Linux, create a system image backup.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

When you install Linux, then decide to go back to Windows 7 sometime in the future, you can just restore the image of the system.

  • is there anyway that I can simply download a VPS Windows version on a disk or a flash drive and reinstall the OS in this way?

Original title: Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Situation!

So, my desktop came with Windows Vista Home Premium, which I didn't know until about five minutes when I tried to use a password reset and it came with an error message. Being a little smarter I have myself give credit, I found that the password reset I used (I had gotten my laptop) has been installed only for Windows 7 because it is the operating system on my laptop. I have no idea if the office came with a disk recovery or not, since my mother bought the display instead of in the box as most of the people get it. I can't get to the desktop because my mother has forgotten his password and is the administrative account and this is the only account available. I decided that I need to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium to the computer but I don't want to buy a version of it, if I can't, anyway I can just download a Windows VPS on a disc or flash drive and reinstall the OS in this way? Or do I absolutely have to buy a new version of Windows?

    Hello

There is no available legal vista download.

And you make a reset disk on that machine, not another machine and make you before you forget the password, not afterwards.

If this is not applicable, you must reinstall the operating system.
